Actually please, make sure to report those BM people... If you do then I do, then someone else will as well, they will get their punishment eventually

gl hf and stay positive!

Edit: but if you like to avoid such messages altogether, just select the option in the ingame menu/battlenet that only friends can send you messages.

Flaming the opponent has a long history in online games. That isn't something new. It's funny and if you can't handle it, you should maybe man the f*ck up. :-)
And honestly, the SC2 community ist EXTREMLY mannered compared to other games and even SC1 back in the days, just because of the battle.net 2.0 and the fear that your account could be banned.
You may call it immature, but well....you are playing a GAME. So what do you expect?

My favorite quote on the forums since I've joined.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Flaming for any reason IMO is fine to do, but when you block someone and then start talking shit? You're pathetic.

That is the lamest possible thing to do, and I honestly wish it were bannable to talk shit while you have them blocked.

People react emotionally to losses, and sometimes they flame to vent their frustration. It's not really personal, so just move on.

Read the effing OP ... guys like you are worse than ppl who flame even if they won.
@OP, ever played a MOBA? there it is pretty common to herpderp around when you won. Guess some people need it to prove that they finally did something right

Just to be clear.
You mean: you lose and still get flamed?

I think , there are a lot of different possible reasons:

- you tried to cheese him (at least in his eyes) and he feels disrespected.
- you tried to use a 'stupid' strategy (at least in his eyes), but he still struggles a lot before winning.
- you played very unexpected (out of the box), so your opponent has to use his brain while playing <- happens to me a lot
- they just think that your race is imbalanced and basicly want to express, that they would've won even harder without this imbalance.

Win is win. Lose is lose. Be nice to people.
Don't blame the game, your opponent, the balance etc..
Blame yourself.

If you lose, you're responsible.
If you win, you're responsible.

This is what makes winning such a good feeling

This has got to be the dumbest logic, imagine the starcraft 2 scene if everyone bad mannered was removed. There would be like 3 stoned guys in bronze, feeling angry and lashing out is a fairly natural reaction. You need to grow up just as much as they do if you feel alarmed enough to report them so they get dealt with.

To OP if you are genuinely concerned about why some individuals feel the need to belitte/mock/shit talk you, understand that some people might have been raised differently. You may have had an exceptional surrounding that taught you to treat everyone with respect but that's not the norm and it certainly wasn't for my case. I won't go out of my way to "BM" a person but I will rarely partake in the GG ritual because I simply do not understand it and I don't wanna take the effort to. Who the fuck cares if your opponent is offended that's his problem. If I earnestly believe it was a good game or its a practice partner that I do not want to offend I will throw it out there. However blindly saying GG after every game is a fucking feel good novelty.

I'd much rather find out how my opponent found a flaw in my play rather than express my feelings about his mother, if he goes apeshit on the other hand i deem it as an even more satisfying victory

I can give you a good reason. If a guy tries some shit cheese vs me and fails miserably, then refuses to leave and desperately tries to contniue playing 1 base vs 3 just to gg 5 mins later i never forget to thank him for that

yea not true.
as someone who regularly flames during and after random team games at both opponents and team mates, i can tell you the whole reporting feature is broken. i've probably been reported upwards of 500 times and i've only ever gotten one warning. and that was for loading the chat with some really vile shit.

as to why? it gets a rise out of people. no fun if everyone is "serious mode". usually it's just trolling but there's always THAT ONE GUY that just has a stick up his ass and starts getting angry and shit. so the flaming.

I just troll back.

If someone actually bms me and writes a paragraph I wait until they're done.

Example.

*After defending a 4gate all in to my 18CC

Opponent.

"LMAO, terran... what a fucking joke you are."

"JUST SCV REPAIR BUNKERS HER DER"

Me.

"Tell me, how do you really feel?"

To be honest, I hate it when the opponent is lagging like hell. Even though if I won the game I tell the laggers they should fix their connection before harassing other people with a bad atmosphere of the game..

if someone rages against me after i win or lose, i just calmly watch the replay afterwards and msg them why I think they fucked up or I got lucky or something. they cant argue with logic, and if they do you know they are idiots anyway.

Put on so that you can only receive private messages from friends. In-game you can still GL HF and such, but private whispers will never come from random people.

I've had smack coming at me from various protoss where I exploit their lacking scouting, and I roach bust them. And also from terrans who get banelingbusted or get outmicroed by Mutalisks. It seems that the aggression is more prone to happen cross-race than mirror matchups.

And seriously, writing "<3" is the best thing ever.
Everybody needs love.
