Hello there guys,
I left a couple of forums because I heard this one is cool, and I can't keep up with all of them...
I recently gave an advice to a person who wanted to know about a computer he was building, I adviced that he went to new egg, and bought a cheap 900Watts+ power supply (cheap as in price effective, 900+ as expansion /upgrade freedom )
I got a warning LOL !?
NO I GOT 2 !!!
here they are.
1) This is a Warning!
go to newegg.com, get a cheap 900 Watts one, that will keep you safe for years, and allow you to upgrade (sli) or what ever.
Please do not give advice when you don't know what you're talking about. It is pretty commonly accepted among PC builders that it is extremely important to get a high quality power supply.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation, iamke55

Don't give bad advice in the tech support section, please.

Lol I have been building computer for over 8 years now, I buy all my parts at newegg, I go price effective and powerfull, lol I passed the same advice to a mate that I deal with myself, and I got a warning lol ... thanks for the gratitude who ever is responsible...
Also, my advice might have been miss understood.. I don't know, the fact im brazilian and my english isn't the "top of the line english" might have affected something.
The person who gave this warning (or miss programed rebot, due to a bad developer), miss judged the advice. While I was trying to help a mate, that might be looking to spend this money effectivelly, since he might not be as rich as who gave the warning, who can buy any power supply he wants cuz his daddy and mommy pays for his bills.

First things first, don't even mention you are Brazilian. You get hated instantly. Also, why would you get mad about a misunderstood warning? Just let that go, TL is not the place to whine about getting warned on other sites.
|
No I got warned on this site just now, not another site, but if you're saying for me not to mention im brazilian, because people will hate me, it isnt true...
I can tell why people hate you, but don't worry, it's not because you're brazilian, it's because of the way you act torwards people. by the way I don't hate you, I understand you're just a kid.
I don't like to throw people off neither.
I'm here to help my mates, and make friends, play sc etc.

How does saying "I've been building for 8 years, I go price efficient and powerful" mean that you aren't giving terrible advice
Just because it says 900W, doesn't mean it delivers 900W, doesnt mean it has PFC, doesn't mean it's efficient, doesn't mean it's a remodelled POS from 7 years ago
Suggested 900W to anyone not thinking about tri-SLI is stupid, a waste, and dangerous to their computer, and not a way to save "his daddy and momm[ies]" money
I'd suggest getting a clue before coming back here, thanks

Here to help makes, and make friends......
All you've done is insult mods, insult people giving you legit advice, and offered terrible advice to your "mates"

Just the fact that you posted this here, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get another warning. This crap doesn't belong in tech support, it should be in blogs. If you want to Q_Q about warnings I suggest pming a TL admin with your complaints.
900watts for a regular PC build is garbage advice. Good thing R1CH implemented "Bad advice" policy.

lol, this place is full of haters man.
Tell me one thing, have you ever refurbished a power supply before? or do you buy a new one when you're blows up?
I'm in the chip business, as a matter of fact, my main job is installing prodgy, and matrix chips on gamming consoles, I think my hardware understanding can't be so bad. I been doing this since snes came out brother.
Go ahead with the flow trying to get attention bro, im only here to help.

What on earth? Are you really opening a thread to complain about a mod?
|
Why don't you respond to the mods who warned you instead of making a big deal and posting a thread about it? We don't care, and even if we did, what would we do about it? This is not the way to paint yourself in a good light.

well bro, getting 2 warnings on a roll, for helping some one, is kind of not acceptable, you know. when you treat people with respect, and you're willing to help, you kind of expect the same back you know?
It's like, you help you're brother build his house, and when you're done, he punches you in the face, you know? for real man,

Me trying to get attention? If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who made an entire thread, in capital letters, about how angry you are that the mods think you are retarded
I don't have to worry about refurbishing power supplies, because mine don't blow up, because I don't buy 30$ 900W PSUs (see where I was getting at). This also means I've never shorted a motherboard, or fucked a 300$ video card because some guy on the internet assured me that 900W was required for 1 GPU
I don't understand how you working in a factory putting chips into gaming consoles has much a correlation to an understanding of computer systems. For christs sake 11 year old chinese kids are putting chips into computers, and I guarantee you they have no idea WTF is going on
So "bro," please understand that when people warn you for giving terrible advice, it's not because they hate you, it's because you're giving stupid advice

No, that would be like your buddy asking you to help him build a house, and you showing up and assuring him that using duct tape instead of screws is fine, and would probably save him some money

Well bro... as a member of overclock net, d3, dev shed, msdn for so many years, THIS IS MY FIRST WARNING, that's why I felt it hard...
it'd be okay to be not agreed on, totaly human, but 2 warnings ? not cool

no bro, I don't blow my power supply, It's my job brother, since i am an independent individual I have a couple of jobs, and refurbishing parts (computers tv's vcr's) is how I pay for my milk

I can assure you if you gave this bad advice using terrible english on ocn, you would get shunned by the entire community. I don't see how devshed, msdn, televisions, and vcrs relate to a computer's power supply. Do you enjoy bringing up irrelevant points?

I hope not another one bro, but if I do get another one, it will be 1 password less to remember, which won't really make a difference in any body's life really.

Not irrelevants brother. I am a high qualified tech person man. I can make a driver for my own chip set, where you'd probably be stuck if there was no "DOWNLOAD" button at your mb's manufacture's website, or cd for it.
It all comes to the point where, regardless how detailed the advice was, or undetailed, it should never result in a warning, when you're acting positively .

LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL. Please, once you produce your own chipset with self-made drivers, send one my way
And what constitutes "high qualified tech person?" Being the only remaining VCR refurbisher in existence?
Also, yes it should, if my 7 year old nephew came on and told everybody they should buy an athlon 64, even if he meant well, he should be banned

So, what were you hoping to get out of this thread? What is there to discuss here?

And there was no ban. It was a warning...which is synonymous to a poke on the shoulder. Like hey, your advice is bad advice...period.

I'm here to help my mates, and make friends, play sc etc. You can tell people hate me by my single post? You never mentioned you were a psychologist. Also, people actually don't hate me. I just threw down the fact the Brazilians are hated all around the internet, which unfortunately aggravates any kind of warnings and bans. If you couldn't figure, I wasn't trying to throw you off. Don't call me a kid, son. You know nothing about me and I never judged you.
