At last! you enter the Round of 96! Here on these vast maps where even shadows fear the
light - here you must confront your opponents. If you have cheesed, beware of the gathering spirits, for they do fish for men. I pity the men of swords, For here blood runs cold...

July 31st saw the end of ISL2's Ladder Stage. 108 players qualified for the main tournament. The Top 12 of those are seeded directly into the later Round of 64. The remaining 96 players enter the Round of 96 to compete for an additional 48 spots. 4 Invites complete the Round of 64's player pool (4 + 12 + 48). Complicated? Don't worry, we'll talk you through it. First though, let's take a look at the results from the ladder stage

As announced, the Top 12 players of the ladder stage win a seed directly into the Round of 64. They are:

The 96 players are divided into groups of 4, playing an MSL Survivor style to determine 2 players who advance. The maps are as follows:

Game A: Player 1 < Blue Storm > Player 2
Game B: Player 3 < Blue Storm > Player 4
Game C: Winner A < Othello > Winner B
Game D: Loser A < Othello > Loser B
Game E: Loser C < Heartbreak Ridge > Winner D

All the games from the Round of 96 will be played on the Fish server. There is an extensive guide here, but with a huge shout-out to Xsebt, our friendly neighbourhood Dane made a Fish-specific guide just for us in the spoiler below:

+ Show Spoiler [How to play on Fish] +
How to get Mini Launcher and play on the Fish server

1) Downloading the installer

http://mini.brainclan.com/update/Mini-install.exe

2) Installing MiniLauncher

This step it's cruicial for you to not get any spyware!

Wait for the program to be installed.

3) The launcher

When you first open Minilauncher you have to update it. It will automatically request this, so you just just have to click yes (Y) and it will start updating.

Next thing you wanna do is get the servers:
Go to the "Tool"-tab. Here you'll see three buttons at the bottom. These are the three major Korean servers: Brainclan, Fish and Mapzine.
In ISL2 you're gonna be playing on the Fish server - so click that button!

Now go the the "Launcher"-tab. This should look fairly familiar to you. You can select the plugins you want.
The ones you MUST have checked are:
[MINI] for 1.16.1 (Anti hack)
Chaosplugin for 1.16.1 (Auto replay etc.)
LatencyChanger for 1.16.1 (Allows you to play in low latency games)

LatencyChanger extra: to enable low latency when hosting a game you have to end game with either "#LL", "#L1", "#L2" etc.
+ Show Spoiler [The difference between these] +

Changes the latency on BNet-games which end on #LL or #L1 ... #L5
#LL sets latency to 2 (like on Lan)
#L1 ... #L5 sets latency to the supplied number
For LAN-games use the settings. On LAN the settings have to be the same or all players
Only works if ALL players in the game have LatencyChanger, else you will get disconnects

Before you can start starcraft through the launcher, it must know where starcraft is installed. If you choose to find it manually (faster if you know where it is), you need to find the file "StarCraft" inside your StarCraft folder.

Finally, to start starcraft through the launcher, click here:

Go on the fish server and make an account through the game (same method as regular battle.net).

  • If highly suspected of listening to the stream of your game, you will be disqualified.
  • All games must be played on your ISL2 names.
  • All replays must be sent to the referee or your games will be reversed. Only the winner must send the replays in.
  • Once the countdown ends and the game begins, you must be /dnd.
  • All games must be played on Fish server on LAN latency.
  • No Korean IP addresses.

First response for any necessary updates.

First point: If your name is in this thread, but not here List of Replay Packs Received you will not be playing in the Kaal International StarLeague.
List of People Who Have Not Sent in Their Replay Packs

Second Edit:
Here is how the Group Stages will work due to player insubordination. Currently 18 people have sent in their replay packs for Day 1. In order to give leniency to those who actually have legitimate reasons for not sending in their replay packs on time, I am re-drawing the deadline per week to Thursday 2359EDT. This is unfortunate for the Day 1 players, as they have roughly 9 hours and 20 minutes to send in their replay packs. Other than that, per week players will have until the deadline. For those who don't understand, it's so we can check your replays thoroughly for any kind of abuse.

In case of missing replay packs by the deadline, the groups will be re-randomized. For day 1 so far Group 1 has started and have all of their replay packs turned in, as well as Group 3 having all of their replay packs submitted. Therefore, they will stay the same. The remaining players will then be re-randomized and those groups will be released mid-Friday, giving you around 24 hours to practice any new match-up and study your opponent.

Players: Please take note of this post so come your day to play you don't cause unnecessary commotion amongst other players.

Talk with your entire group. Your best bet is this:
Get your first opponent (it's in order there) to play the match with you a day ahead of time in which an ISL2 referee will be present.
Upon doing this, you need to send me the proof of it (with scheduled time/date) so that one of the referees can show up for your match.
After that Talk with the other 2 players in your group. You will forfeit the winner vs winner or loser vs loser match automatically, as those cannot wait. However, the final match on HBR can wait (until Sunday @ 2359CET). Assuming you win your first match AND you can get both of the other people from your group to agree to PP that match with you, you need to also provide proof and scheduled time/date that they agreed to play you and abide by it.

Notice to all players:
In situations like this, you need to inform me way ahead of time, if it's less than 36 hours ahead of time - just expect to receive a WalkOver.
Also note that if you agree to a social contract like this, that you will indeed receive a WalkOver for not showing up to the match that was scheduled given your manner and kindness initially.
SC is like sex. You should play often, but never too hard. And you should only try hard when it matters.

okay, I have three questions:
1) what incentive would my group members have to reschedule my match when they can just receive a free walkover?
2) how can I contact my group members? most people don't check their isl2 email on iccup.com
3) I would only need it postponed by three hours, is this not possible?

thanks

1) They don't, only public image. Most people try to give the appearance of being manner when they know a lot of people will see it. This happened 5x last ISL (1/2 the players of ISL2)
2) Get creative. I do not give out anyone's info. If this starleague is important to you, you will go to all extents to get their contact info or hunt them down on servers.
3) No, postponing an entire group for one player... ugh no explanation necessary, just no.

Group 2 will be edited. WendiGo] you will qualify and be placed in Group 2 on Playday 1 due to ISL2.amoral's stat transfer. Another one bites the dust.

How about switch the groups 1 and 10, i mean i have the same sitution like Assault, and i can't play at 13 August. I know the groups are randomized, but it possible to let me play at group 1, and switch Assault to group 10? if he agree of course.

So.. Assault how about that?;>

Unfortunately you cannot negotiate the group stage terms. However, given the lack of replay pack submitting, there is a chance in the near future that the groups might be re-randomized to cope for player laziness/idiocy/inactivity.

Alright let me know how that goes please. Also, you need to contact the person you are up against first. The groups are in order so whoever is to the right of your name (forgot it as I started typing this and don't want an ugly edit).
