Fomos
Yes, I know that translating a Fomos article is dangerous, but I had no choice because the issue at hand is of great importance. DES didn't have any articles on this issue, and Fomos Global didn't translate this article.

Basically, an official statement came in from the MBCGame Production Team manager that,"Although the talk of changing to a music channel is more than a rumor, absolutely nothing has been set in stone yet. There are internal discussions about this issue and no final decision has been made. EVEN IF a decision is made, we still have to get permission from the Communications Committee, and we have to go through the legal procedures. We are not at that stage yet."
Jang Jae Hyuk Team Manager also said that, "We don't want those concerns about Esports to grow because of this issue. Although there is the possibility for the channel to change, there's also the possibility that it won't change, so I hope there won't be unneeded negative effects created by this issue."
He added, "Some media (T/N: I think it's ThisIsGame) has already come out with the news that we are changing to a music channel for sure. That was a very hasty/rash report." He plans to raise objections about it.
If Mods feel that this is too dangerous on its own, close this and at least edit the OP of the other one. Please.

It sounded like it had been confirmed that this would be the last MSL, does this mean that the "confirmation" is not as certain as it had sounded?
|
I hope they don't. TV losing Esports of "ANY" kind is a bad thing. Esports is not just starcraft.. lots of scenes would come crashing down without the MBCgame support I believe.
|
It sounds like a standard statement from a company denying any changes until it actually happens. Unless they specifically state that MBC won't cut its gaming broadcasts/teams/tournament, this changes nothing.
|
Please dont change to a music channel T.T
|
mbc commentators' tweets painted a much more grim picture
|
Nononoo MBCGame must live... and expand globally!!!
|
it sounds like they want to change

Ehhh... There has already been a thread like this. Good to see more people becoming aware of the update though, I guess.

PLEASE MBC, STAY AS A GAME CHANNEL! please *whimper*

Well at least Killer has a chance of working two jobs.

If only MBCGame knew how many of us foreign fans would pay for a monthly subscription to a really nice quality reliable online stream... Maybe I'm naive? but I would certainly be up for that. They could even sell international advertising and have whatever length of time ads are running given to them.

<___< Yeah, we already sit through commercial breaks between games. edit: but then again there aren't that many foreign BW fans.

^ Is it a petition that we can sign? If so, can you put up some instructions so that everyone can sign on it?

Yeah, I figured this was going to be the case. The other article was so vague.

<___< I'm pretty sure there aren't that many daily viewers for the streams since they're at bad times for people in the US. Most people just watch VODs. Big events like finals are a different story though.
