Oh shit, I voted 2 and then realized it was 288.
This question is hard because it tempts you to group the 2(9+3) together because of the parentheses.

What's the point of this thread? <_<
EDIT: fuck. That's tricky soooo embarrassing ._.

hahaha i guess the way its written is kind of deceptive for those who dont realize you should be writing this as 48 OVER 2(9+3)
|
Oh dear...who picked 288? The point of Bedmas is to get rid of brackets first.

Damn I suck at life (well, just math) but still. :p

Its the way its written thats deceiving people.

lol by standard mathematical rules the answer would be 288. However stupid people might not know this and assume 48/ (2((9+3) = 2. However this is wrong since multiplication and division are to be done in order unless changed by brackets.

Multiplication and division are done left to right, since they're in the same tier in the order of operations.

All the ones who didn't rush in and pick the incorrect answer XD

......I'm speechless....dumbfounded, and concerned about the general population that much more.
it's 288. Division and multiplication are equal in priority so it is read left to right.
48/2*(12)
24*12=288
WTF are people thinking.

Replace division witha slash and insert a x between the 2 and the parenthesis and you will see it's 288...

Well consider one that has only like primary education mathematic knowledge. They could sure do it wrong. It's not hard to imagine. It's however hard to imagine they still don't understand it after people explain it.

Nope. You do the inner parenthesis first and the rest all have equal value from left to right.
