The OSL format has changed dramatically. Starting this OSL, any Starcraft player over the age of 12 will be able to participate in an open prelim, named MyStarleague. Previously only for progamers, amateur players will now have a new way to participate in the OSL. OSL Director Kwak Jae Geun said, "From those who are just taking a break from BW to old fans to new players who may not know Boxer and Yellow (T/N: really? everyone, regardless of age, should know about them if they play SC at any level), there are still many players out there with hidden potential. Responding to these fans' desires, we have created this new opportunity for them to inspire a sense of belonging and solidarity amongst the players at large and to expand our E-sports base."

This national starcraft project MyStarleague will take place in 6 locations: Pusan, Kwangju, Daegu, Kangwon Daejeon, Kyungin, and Seoul. Each region will have 4 representatives for a total of 24 representatives who will play in a grand final to be narrowed down to 12 players. The final 12 will then be able to go to Yongsan to participate in the Starleague's Pro-amateur prelims (T/N not sure what the 암 of 프로-암 means). Throughout this process the coaches and notable players of each Progaming Team will be scouting for prospects.

The registration will begin on March 31st at ongamenet.com, and the prelims will open on April 10th at Pusan and will go on for 6 weeks.

MyStarleague's 6 regional prelims will air every Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 PM starting April 20th, and the national grand finals will broadcast live from May 25 (Wed) to May 27 (Fri).

OSL Producer Won Suk Joong said, "The progaming teams who are predicted to be scouting in MyStarleague are putting big expectations on this and are looking to participate actively. This will be a festival in which pros and amateurs will come together."

Meanwhile, the OSL is getting rid of the Ro36 format to resurrect the Ro24 Dual Tournament format, and the OSL proper will be from Ro16.

MyStarleague registration dates:
Pusan: March 31st - April 5th
Kwangju/Jeju: April 6th - April 12th
Daegu: April 13th - April 19th
Daejeon/Kangwon Province: April 20th - April 26th
Kyoungin: April 27th - May 10th
Seoul: May 4th - May 10th

MyStarleague Prelim dates:
Pusan: April 10th
Kwangju/Jeju: April 16th
Daegu: April 24th
Daejeon/Kangwon Province: May 1st
Kyoungin: May 8th
Seoul: May 15th

Disclaimer: The above dates are subject to change.

T/N: THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!!!!

edit: added logo. If there's anything that could be improved on, let me know and I'll fix it.

Holy crap. This seems like a really huge change.

I wasn't around back when there was the dual tournament format. Could someone explain how it works?

Think of MSL Survivor and Ro32 and that's a good picture. IDK if there were some things extra though.

I'm relatively new to BW, but it seems to me the format changes every couple of seasons. That being said, how does the Ro24 Dual Tournament format work? That's from before my time, I think...
i am a logical person.

암 is obvious am(ateur) -_-. pro-am is a common term used in sports.

anyway this is amazing, i wasn't a big fan of the ro36 being integrated into the osl proper. good to see the dual tournament return.

i guess the amateur tournaments were made to combat the lack of professionals playing these days. so much for gretech bragging that their sc2 qualifiers were 'open'.

I'm in awe... This is going to be awesome regardless of how well the amateurs compare to the pros, its just going to be some fun games to watch.

So a dual tournament is when 12 amateurs are given chance to compete with 24 progamers?

Hehe you're speedy My translation was just more flowery, but yours is to the point. And yeah, 프로-암 is Pro-Amateur.

I was skeptical of this at first, but I think this will be really good for helping the Korean BW scene to grow more and the eSports scene in general. Plus the fans might get to play against their favorite progamers! Although the amateurs might get crushed painfully by the pros, it will be an honor for them to play against progamers. I have nothing but great optimism for this event. Thanks for the translation!

The important part here is SCOUTING.

Introducing new blood into e-sport as opposed to stagnation.

Maybe they will find the next Bisu.
