Both are same contrast ratio and size. But most importantly, what monitor is better in a sense for gaming? I havent quite figured it out so someone please help.

I understand there are 120 hz monitors but those are not completely necessary for sc2 and it costs quite alot.

I'd suggest you go with whatever is cheapest.
I use a 120 euro cheap benq 22" monitor and it's great.

The only reason for getting a better monitor would be stuff like 3D gaming or requiring better viewing angles and color for photo editing and stuff.

I think this is more appropriate in a hardware forum than TL, but I'll move it to tech support.

The great thing with RTS is that you can play on almost any screen. Every 22-24'' screen out there with 60+ hz and decent MS is fine. The optimal is a 16: 9 aspect ratio screen as you get more view with that but it's all about personal preference. Some like 4:3 CRT better than widescreen lcd etc.

So just pick the one you like the most.

everyone tells me 16:10 is better for gaming. Why is that so? What makes 16 better in gaming?

That is highly dependent on the actual resolution the screen provides. Generally though: the more pixels, the better.
With 16 by 10 at 1920*1200 pixels you get 120 more vertical pixels than with 16 by 9 at 1920*1080 (a.k.a. 1080p) pixels and in a game like Starcraft simply see more of the map.
1680*1050 however, which is also a 16 by 10 resolution, provides way less screen space with even the vertical resolution being inferior to 1080p so in this case, the 16 by 9 would be the better choice.

This graphic shows what I'm talking about quite nicely, although it is a bit cluttered.

You're stupid. Stop it.

Actually, you don't. 16 : 9 > 16 : 10 in SC2. At best, you're trading "side" pixels for "bottom" pixels.

Both monitors have 5MS.
Get a monitor with 2 MS for better response-time. Also, be sure to read reviews which cover things like ghosting, gamma correction, color correction, etc.
