[Interview] SWL R3 Wemade Fox vs Hite Entus

"I am special"



As expected Midas has no fear facing a zerg. Midas continued his now 11 game winning streak in ProLeague by toppling Hite Entus' ace, Hydra, with an early bunker rush into bio into mech transition, and brought it home for his team Wemade Fox.

Midas' bunker rush deserves notice as it has become a strategy that all zergs facing him must be wary of. As Midas once said, it might be a good idea to not even question whether he will bunker rush you. He stated that he plans on continuing to punish zergs who open with a greedy build.

Q How do you feel starting WL with a win.
A I'm so glad to have won. It feels even better that we beat a team like Hite Entus. It feels much better than beating a lower-ranked team.

Q Were you predicted to go in since you hold a pretty respectable position in the team.
A It was a zerg opponent, and it was also my turn to go out, so I went.

Q Roro scored a 3kill.
A To be honest I want to be racking up at least 2kills per match. Still it's okay since we won. Our team comes first. It's better than our team getting 2~3 killed by a player on the opposite team, right?

Q You bunker rush quite often.
A It's my concept these days. No idea why zergs keep trying to open with a greedy 12 hatch. I think they think 'he wouldn't bunker rush again' but oh boy are they mistaken. With my bunker rush opening I think I can counter any build with mid and lategame management that ensues. If zerg goes 12 or 13 pool I think my build suffers a little, but zergs these days keep trying to open greedy. So I plan to keep on bunker rushing. Once zergs open with less risky openings then I will stop bunker rushing.

Q Your fluid transitions shined.
A I think about different builds alot. I always try to figure out how to transition from one build to another in the most natural way. I think that's why my transitions are well optimized.

Q Don't you wanna be the first to play.
A I've always wanted to. I want to be fielded first and get at least 2 kills. That would be good for my team as well. I think last year I was fielded first in the first WL match. I hope our coaching staff takes that into consideration(Laughs). In all seriousness though, I'll get my chance when it's my time to shine.

Q Your predictions on WL.
A Our teammates are so good. I have high hopes for players like RorO, BaBy, Shine, Mind, etc. They will do very well in WL I believe. I'm sure others will do well, but I am excited to see those four perform. I'll just be happy being the special one(Laughs).

Q Why are you special.
A I am confident against any player in the world, but I am also suspect to fall to any player as well. I don't feel like I will lose against a good player, but I don't feel like I will crush players that are below me either. Still, recently I've been confident that I can win against any player.

Q Thoughts on the new maps.
A They all suck for terran. La Mancha looks okay for terran, but Empire of the Sun and Fortress SE are terrible for terran. It's really frustrating.

Q Your goal for WL.
A It won't be easy, but I want to try and get an all-kill.

Q Any last words.
A Korean Air's Cho Hyun Min, who helps our team out alot, was recently promoted to director. I want to congratulate him and hope he visits more often.

"Unexpected 3-kill, excited for matches to come in the near future"



He's back.

On January 8th, Roro scored a 3-kill in the Shinhan Bank ProLeague 10-11 R3:Week 1 against Hite Entus, held at the Munlae Hero Center, leading his team to victory.

Roro was fielded when his team was down 0:1, and defeated Where, Leta, sKyHigh to have a chance to all-kill Hite Entus. Even though he lost to Hydra, Wemade Fox regained composure with Roro's 3-kill, and fielded Midas on Empire of the Sun to crush Hydra and get their first win in R3.

People were saying Shine would be replacing Roro, who went 8-8 in R1 and R2, as Wemade's zerg ace, but by starting off R3 with a 3-kill, people are looking forward to his performance in the rest of his matches.

Q Thoughts on scoring a 3-kill in the first match of WL.
A I had high hopes for WL. I wasn't expecting a 3-kill right off the bat so I am happy.

Q How were your games today.
A I felt disadvantaged in the first game but I got lucky so I won. Starting from my second game, I was warmed up better than my opponent, an attribute unique to WL, I was able to play with a more comfortable mindset and win.

Q You beat two terrans.
A I knew a terran would come out in the second game. Since I am confident in my ZvT and our team has a strong terran lineup, I wasn't worried.

Q You used a hydra bust allin against Leta.
A I think that was my first all-in in a broadcasted math. I use it alot during practice, so I think if I pick the right situation to use it in, it works pretty well.

Q What do you think about the new map La Mancha.
A I still haven't played all that much on it, but it's pretty ordinary since it's a 4 person map. I don't see anything special about it yet. It doesn't look special and I don't have that much experience playing on it yet.

Q Looking at your match versus SkyHigh, it looks as your ZvT improved.
A I was all warmed up having won 2 games already. However since my body was too relaxed I think I made alot of mistakes. I won, luckily, so I am happy.

Q Your last game was regretful. You were so close to an all-kill
A It sucks because I lost so easily. When I saw two of his lings sneaking around, I thought 'He got me.' I couldn't help but concede.

Q What's your mindset going into WL.
A Today I achieved a 3-kill, which was quite unexpected. Since I am off to a good start, I am hoping for good things to come.

Q Your team is maintaining a 50% winrate.
A I feel like our team keeps losing because we don't have a solid finish. We need a solid anchor. I don't think I'm at that level yet. Of course I will practice to be that player one day, but in the meantime I think we all need to step it up so we can finish strong.

Q Your results in R1 and R2 leave much to be desired.
A I think I lost alot to good players. I feel the need to improve so I can beat better players.

Q Any last words.
A I have an MSL match soon. I am going up against Kal who is a very strong player, and want to show you better games.
