Shine
Thoughts on your victory?
▲Taking the last SPL game of the year makes me delighted.
You easily won the game with energetic play.
▲As my opponent produced zealots, I waited for him to start making high templar. I feel like the timing when he starts getting templars is when I can attack. I hit that timing well, so I won.
Regrettably, you were eliminated from the OSL.
▲Originally, when I lost, I wanted to keep smiling, but after thinking of the support I'd gotten from my fans and the practice I had gotten from my teammates, I just couldn't put on a smile. When we practiced with ACE, TheRock gave me a lot of advice, so it made me more relaxed in practice, Because of those tips, I won today. I don't think this will be the end of my appearances in the OSL. It's just that failing to break the Ro16 this time is sad.
People say you are now FOX's Zerg ace.
▲I'm still not fully satisfied with myself. I don't think I'm a guarantee of 1 point yet. I feel like this SWL will be a personal test.
You've grown a lot during R2.
▲Even I'm in awe. I feel like my strength hasn't changed much, but I've been able to show my true colors in televised games. That's the reason I performed so well. There was luck involved too. After today, I'll prepare for future games humbly and honestly.
Any expectations for SWL?
▲I'm very eager. We didn't do very well during the last SWL, so we have to turn that aruond. I'll do very well this SWL.
Anything else?
▲Friday was my grandmother's 70th birthday celebration, so I'll dedicate the end-of-year win as my present to her. Also, one of my good friends will be celebrating his own birthday to him; happy birthday to her!
Mind
Thoughts on the win?
▲I lost my last game very regrettably, but today I finally won, and on top of that the team swept the opponent. To win in our last game of R2 makes me overjoyed.
Any evaluations of today's game?
▲Bloody Ridge allows protoss to get carriers after one expansion [T/N unsure]. Even if the terran knows, it's tough to face. I could win easily only because Brave lost his reaver and made mistakes afterward.
Why is it so hard to defend against quick carriers on Bloody Ridge?
▲The terrain plays a huge role. There's a lot of terrain features that are advantageous toward carrier play for the protoss, so that even if you know about it you can't do much.
You beat Shine to enter the OSL Ro8.
▲Best-case scenario we would have both advanced, but it didn't happen, and I'm really sorry too. But I'll work together with Shine so we can go farther in the future.
A quick reflection on R1 and R2?
▲I didn't do very well, so I'm unsatisfied. Losing in SPL just extinguished any confidence I had mustered. I didn't do well in R2, just like in R1. But recently I've won a couple games, so it's getting better; my recent record isn't bad. What kind of performance I can attain in the future will be important to the team.
Are you very eager for R3?
▲I've performed very badly in SPL. But when practicing the SWL format of R3, I thought it was very interesting. Just solid play will take the win. I'll work even harder.
Anything else?
▲Thanks to the teammates who helped me practice. In two days, I'll be starting my OSL games, and I'm very confident. I have no idea what kind of cheese or tactics a player like Calm will use, but no matter what I'll be able to defend it and win.
Midas
You won a very long game.
▲I got lucky. I put effort into my play and great made a couple mistakes, so I won. Overall, great played very well, those little mistakes forced him into a losing position.
The game didn't end until all of Grand Line SE's bases were mined out.
▲After I took the center of the map and brought down the 12 o'clock, I felt like I had won. But so many zerg troops emerged that I started thinking I would lose. It was a very tight game. When I lost 5 and 6, I thought I had lost for sure.
You were confronted with a bad situation after losing 6.
▲As I kept needlessly losing tanks, I thought it was a losing situation. The zerg had even more resources than I could have imagined. I had maybe 2 groups of tanks, and I even though to my self, “You can't just throw these away.” I also think that Vultures are terran killing machines. In the late game, tank and vulture mine use can be a game decider.
At what point were you confident of a victory?
▲Great started to put up defenses at 9 and turtle; once his attacks stopped, I felt like I finally had the game taken.
The team has climbed back into 5th place.
▲The team was 5-4 in R2 and I was 4-2 personally, so it was pretty decent. When I came to the stadium, I was chatting with our coaches, who said our team was outstanding and would definitely win. Still, our team's record was 5-4; we still lost quite a few games. Our loss to Woongjin in the previous match made me feel very sorry to the coaches. But our win today was a solid way to close out the season.
You've now been the team captain for 2 rounds.
▲Even though I'm captain, I really don't do much. Baby and Mind could both be captains too. Even if I don't tell them to, the younger players will work at it anyway, so there isn't much for me to do.
Thoughts on R3?
▲I want to try and get an all-kill. It should be good. If I can get an all-kill, I'll treat the team to pizza; I really want this to happen.
ForGG retired and dropped out of your MSL group; how will it affect preparations?
▲I personally think this MSL's maps aren't very good. I was originally most confident in my TvT, but ForGG ended up retiring. But now I don't have to worry about facing him; I'll go all out to advance.
Anything else?
▲I'll work hard to do well in MSL. Also, our team's players are super gosu, so we'll definitely do well in R3!
