I found the tournament that caused the postponement of the 17173 World Cup tonight.
Apparently some Korean SC2 communities have formed mini-teams and are having a knockout tournament being shown on GOM.

The 8 communities seem to be;
- FOMOS
- YGOSU

- Star2Mecha
- Star2Chosun
- PlayXP
Prizes:
1st - Blizzcon 2010 Invite (Flights and Accommodation Included)
2nd - 22" Wide screen Monitor
3rd/4th - Razer Package (Mouse, Headset, Mousepad)

Zerotol, how do you go about opening a stream in VLC? I knew it had streaming capabilities but I always thought it was a local network kind of deal.

You need the direct stream link probably somethign like mms://
You post that in vlc open networkstream and it works. It's that easy.

wow really? the stream for me is incredibly smooth
for me, this is much better than any stream i've personally viewed on ustream/livestream
I'm so shocked at the high quality/frame rate of this, I almost thought I was viewing a VOD i had downloaded
on a side note - I'd be very surprised if tasteless and artosis did not immediately find work after the release of sc2
the english speaking community of fans of e-sports has grown and is growing incredibly quickly
the demand is so much greater than it was before when they took a chance with hiring tasteless for english commentary

Is anyone intending in setting up a relay on livestream or ustream for this?
This seems like a perfect way to cater to the SC1 fans in Korea by the way as most of them probably belong to at least one of these community sites.

How can people get the stream up? If i click that link i just get to a korean site with a popup window in the middle of the screen probably stating something isn't working.

Yay for Boe. Was watching him 1v1'ing Pull, then he said he'll stream this.
Waiting until his stream comes up.
Hope these series on GOM is worth watching up at 5 am in the morning

I like the way GOMTV is set up. Commercials at the start and not elsewhere, standalone player. It's laggy right now but I think they'll fix that... I even like the ramen dude. He amuses me.
