tl;dr - Are you from the UK? then speak up...
thread continued here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=120194 ---
I'm not that good myself (Bronze), but other than DeMuslim who is out there doing our humble homeland proud in tourneys I wondered how many other UK players are worth noting?
Does anyone know of decent players in the UK? are you one? Our German, Scandinavian, Dutch and east European brothers are doing us proud representing EU with clans and real life practice houses (well, I saw one that White-Ra was in for a while at least), but I feel like in the UK we are still sat in our darkened rooms connecting to the community through a web browser and doing our best to keep up with the rest of the world.
I'm asking because the more I get into TL the more UK posters I see, initially I thought I was the only person in England who played Starcraft like I did, I'm glad to be wrong, but how much of a show do we have - are UK Starcraft gatherings possible?
Hmm, what is the point to this post? I guess I'm just asking what place the UK has in the awesome Starcraft universe and everything that goes with it. To be honest with you all I've just watched a documentary about when the British Empire was at it's height, had a few beers, and thinking of our limp country nowadays wanted to see if we have any fight left in us in my favourite computer pastime!

rANDY posts here and is quite good ~~

Australia and Canada are members of the British Commonwealth too, so technically speaking they are British-ish.
Just sayin.

...he had mad tactikz
EDIT: moar joke:
I totally out teched him, and my economy was strong. I fought him in the sky, I fought him on the beaches....he never surrendered. He managed to ally with some other big players and took me out.

Scouser here. I'm unbelievably bad at the game, however. I didn't play Starcraft so I'm very new to the series. If anyone wants to play, my ID is scott.scottyyy
Though, you will win. I'm currently something stupid like 84th in my copper division. I'd like to play with some people who play often though. I've got quite a few people on my list from a forum I go to, but I don't really play with them much. If anyone is new to SC and needs a practise partner, feel free to add me. I could definitely use the practise, especially against people who are quite good. I've always thought it's better to play against people better than you, helps you learn quicker I think.

UK scene is pretty good. We were fairly tight knit at the end of the bw era and that has passed on to sc2 fairly seemlessly. I don't know DeMuslim that well because he comes from a wc3 background but obviously he's owning shit. rANDY was a very respectable bw player and is one of the best sc2 players around. I'm rocking around in plat doing badly.
Flicky organised a sick bw lan a few months back and looks to be organising sc2 stuff. So don't count the UK out yet, our scene may be quiet but it's pretty strong. You just need someone to introduce you to everyone else.

I know KwarK had sc2 for a while... i've never seen him talk about it much though and haven't really spoken to him in ages so not sure how seriously he's taking it. Some of my friends from clan [MB] are playing quite a bit of sc2, again not sure how good or what they are though. :x
edit: k disregard most of what i said :x

What are you planning Flicks?
I'm game anyway, as long as dirty invading foreigners are welcome too. =)

Some UK guys on tl with photos and epicness http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=113079
Paddy is obv awesome too but he couldn't make it because he's like 12 and from the west country. But I've known him for 7ish years now? Reno has sc2 too but he never does anything because he's a loser. Midian must have sc2 but I guess he's ex-pat now. SiG has sc2 and he's awesome and I love him.

Nice to see you're all out there! 10 minutes after the OP and we all come out of the woodwork to represent!
I'll add you scotty, even though you're a scouse I'm only Bronze but it would be good to have a local real life guy to play against so we can try different builds against each other and review. All my ideas and theorycraft are tried out on the ladder at the minute!
Didn't realise there was a UK scene Kwark!? Good news, hopefully I'll be able to get more involved in future, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Cheers

Paddy, we should get back in touch sometime. I may be able to find a second beta key if you're interested.

Cool. What's your ID so I can add you as well?
And don't worry, despite popular belief I don't steal cars.

I'll try to get the same one after the impending database reset too.

Cheers We've never really been organised, over the years we've just been gradually introduced to each other as people randomly find each other, stick together and find other groups. That's why we're so elusive, without introductions you'd have to stumble into us. tl is probably as good a place as any to do UK stuff though.
