We recently took action, including suspensions and bans, on over 5,000 StarCraft II players who were in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use for cheating and/or using hack programs while playing. In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service. Maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we'll be continuing to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed.
The exact players are not listed.
Personally, I'm amazed that they only found around 5000 players.
Good to see Blizzard stepping up to the plate!

'Bout them they started the smack down for the for the wack-clowns doing their hack rounds.
GJ blizzard

they also banned hacked accounts correct? man talk about bringing down the law...
these is also a very expensive ban for the hackers. 40 dollars down the drain.
LOL I hope they learned their lesson, but they probably didn't so now they'll go and spend another $60 on the game. Damn hackers.
You can never argue with Blizzard about beeing too inconsequent with banning cheaters. Great job!
Something tells me there are a lot more than 5000 players hacking :/
I love how they ban in huge waves. Makes it much more noticeable for any would-be hackers. Just waiting for the 'I got banned and never hacked!' posts...
it would be awesomer if they posted names of those who got banned and it is $60 down the drain props to blizz...
They should REALLY release the list of names imo.
Good job Blizzard! Wonder if any notable players were caught or if it's only newbies.
Now those who are banned can spend another $60. Fuel the economy.
I'm banned!!! Jk I get accused of hacking a lot, but that's just because I played SC1 for 10 years. GJ blizzard, this was a bold move. Keep up the fight against hackers.
I got banned for trolling bnet sc2 forums, they're cracking down on that too.

Fruit Dealer got banned

One of the few times I can say this and it not be sarcasm. Thanks Blizzard. Its great that the hackers will be done away with and the ones that want to return have to spend $60 because they played dishonorably. Unfortunately that statement in itself means should they choose they can buy another copy and go right on hacking. Bans are always good to set an example to would-be hackers, but at the same time eliminating the loopholes that allow hacks makes a lot more sense to me.

Lol I assume you are saying so because of how hard he raped in the semis.

someone should check to see if any of the top 200 from the servers were 'missing' after they issued this mass ban. =]
Good to see the banhammer being used. I eagerly await for the entrails of said hackers to be burned. :o
