Why would he? This is an awesome story. I will not miss this guy's GSL match. I cannot say that for 90% of the players in Code A.

Getting a free ride through most of the the tournament while players like Jinro (who gave up a code A seed himself, if I recall correctly) repeatedly claw their way up way up through the bracket only to have to wait another quarter of a year to try again... There would definitely be an atmosphere of not having "earned it". I'd say more than a few players would be pissed off and would hardly view it as an "interesting" or "fortunate" turn of events..

Jinro had a pretty "easy" journey this time and messed up. I would more compare to players like Coca who we know are code S caliber and didn't get through because of their strong opponents. Or players like Sage who didn't even get to their finals.

3 Bye's in a row is ludicrous. That should never happen.

were there not enough people signed up to make it so that he was the only person in his half of the bracket or were there people signed up that didn't show? if it's the first one then that's bizarre, but if it's the second it's something that's extremely unlikely but is not something you can control at all

Kyrix and cOre were supposed to face the guy, but they didn't show.

URGGANDOL had Kyrix and Core, both good players in his bracket, but Core recently retired to focus on school and Kyrix literally hasn't been seen in months.

His half of bracket: GGanDoL vs rhonin, cOrePrime vs NesRevival, BYE vs BYE, ZeNEXKyrix vs KiZoGe

5 players didn't show up, so he went straight to the finals.

Lots of people don't show up. There's tons of walk-overs in the first round.

Kid just lucked out, not his fault, and we shouldn't be hating on him for it. Hopefully he steps it up and shows he can hang in Code A.

Wait, did me mean retired as in completely withdrawing from sc2 and not showing up,
or retired from not practising sc2 and hence not being that good of player he was?

The actual person playing in those games is (T)Last, who is still active on STX and playing in Proleague this season. Hell, he even just played today against (P)Snow.
