idra really did not look unstoppable in game 2. MC threw away game 2. idra made a huge comeback, but that game was in MC's hands imo.
his other two matchups though, idra looked pretty damn unstoppable (vs select and vs ret)
Threw away how? By not focusing the hatchery?
Sure, maybe.
But now, idra when scouting will be extremely aware of chrono boost energy and how many zealots/buildings there are so that hidden 3 zealot rush doesn't work again.
MC basically pulled a NesTea sneaky brilliant strategy but messed up with it, now people can learn to watch out for it.

1. focusing down the hatchery 2. not engaging properly when he was at equal food midgame (after killing the gold): he could have better positioned his army and even had a chance at sniping the natural again 3. immortals out front for neurals
yea MC's zealot strategy was pretty sneaky, but those 3 above were pretty big mistakes (although the immortals out front looked intentional to bait idra's neurals because he did blink forward ~6 stalkers to snipe the infestors)

yea that immortal in front thing looked like a bait to me too.

I agree with you it's never totally avoidable. Either your immortal isn't shooting or it's at the front. IdrA deserves a lot of credit for getting neural parasite so early and using it so well. The casters also didn't pick up on how awesome his fungals were during that fight too.
Overall though MC had plenty of chance to win that game but didn't quite manage it. I really hope we'll see a fully firing MC throughout the rest of this tournament so that him and IdrA meet in the final. That would be epic.
i thought it was really odd that idra didnt go check for something hidden when his drone still didnt see a zealot after being in his base long enough to check gas, if he had started a spinecrawler knowing 'something was up' and transfered it to his natural when it finished he would of been safe

I cant remember exactly but I recall the immortal positioned like most Protoss do, right in front of their stalkers so they can do damage. Even if they were behind the stalkers, NP range is long enough that they were going to get NP'd either way. Idra did have 4-6 infestors so people should calm down a little bit in trying to find HUGE mistakes from MC.

it might look like some sort of 3 stalker pressure?

spinecrawlers buy time for speed to finish, if the stalkers are still out when speed is done he loses them all and idra is a mile ahead.

I'm looking for threads that are bigger than this - so far i found "Korean music discussion" and "Anime discussion". Is "The IdrA Fanclub" a Top 3 thread on TL?

There's quite a few.. The D9D and SotG threads are larger, for example. But it's fun to note that Idra's fanclub has more posts/views than all the other fanclub threads combined. :D
