I'm seeing a lot of hate(more like doubt) here and on Reddit, for Oz but i actually feel like this is a great pickup. I've always liked Oz myself, hes a real cool player. Had some real cute innovative PvZ builds in WoL. Either way i feel like both these pickups are real solid and will help them in proleague. I sure hope so! 화이팅!

Two players that I think will contribute to a strong practice and playing environment. Going to be interesting to see how proleague plays out from here.

Great, great pickups.

Oz is, for my money the best build preparer bar none of Protoss players. He also has passable English and did, iirc some psuedo-coaching in FXO as well. Will be great for team cohesion and for Proleague I can see him being a real useful guy to have around. He may have never really achieved the result I think his play merited, and may never win individual leagues, but for innovative, map-specific builds Oz is king. (That or mancrush speaking)

Alive is pretty much Puma, except probably in a bit better shape of late. Horrendously underrated player, if HoTS doesn't throw him off that is, he's been a top 10 Terran for pretty much the duration of WoL, albeit I'm not sure where he is now especially with the Kespa players inexorable rise.

I think this is a positive sign as well regarding Proleague. If EG wanted players for picking up easy money from foreign tournaments, these two are not really a step up from Puma and there were other potential pickups there who would be great for that purpose. This to me, reading between the lines is EG bolstering their Korea-based players eligible for Proleague. They mightn't salvage this season and make the playoffs or whatever, but I definitely see them salvaging pride for their next run.

Well, guess who needs practice partners... lol

In the mean time there's aLive's marine-raven push against MMA.

UHHH, both so bad these days hahaha...

This coming from me, even.

But...they are nice guys, really likeable ;-)

Guess fnatic will be happy if they get Naniwa now, for less costs

Anyways, EG looks pretty stacked now, maybe some foreigners leave (and hop over to fnatic instead haha)

These are great additions! Both Alive and Oz have always seemed like solid players with lots of room for growth. I can't wait for round 4! I was kind of hoping the EG guys would cut Naniwa some slack and pick him up though...

Happy for Oz and Alive, but a little sad that EG acquired them like the empire they are.

People need to take in account the SPL format.

Also need to take into account that Oz is very good PvP sniper ..:D:D:D

Speaking english is pretty irrelevant now, they have only Koreans in the house and it'll probably stay that way for quite a while/a long time.

great pickups, leaves alot of heavy zerg lifting up to revival (no problems there) and JD (still looking for that transformation we've seen Flash go through into a semblance of his former glory). All in all, great to add some depth to the EG/TL bench.

Zenio too. He's not nothing.

Pretty close to that though. Proleague record is abysmal, gameplay looked weak and whenever he goes to foreign tournaments he often loses to foreigners.

I definitely feel they could have found better. However, I dunno what the amount was agreed for, but Oz has been slumping since Summer and aLive isn't exactly stellar either.

I wonder how they'll do in Proleague.

Honestly, which better free agents are out there in Korea in your opinion? Can't think of that many tbh

Why limit yourself to free agents? EG could probably have moved into a bigger house and bought out NSHoSeo at the same time with the money saved on Puma. Make them all practice partners -> success :D

Jokes aside, do Coca and Puzzle have a team? Are they somewhat bound to StarTale or are they looking for bigger opportunities?

I don't think EG would want players like CoCa and Puzzle right now. They left the scene on a pretty bad note and now are back quietly and nobody can really estimate how good they are right now. EG needs solid meat for the roster.

Also, just because I'm curious, why would they be bound to StarTale?

sC got back into his old team and he was also playing LoL instead of practicing for Code A before he switched. In my opinion CoCa and Puzzle were both better than sC in their prime and players with their potential would make good pickups for any team as long as it's ensured that their motivation is completely there again.

About StarTale, it's just that they absorbed ZeNEX so the two renegades should have some buddies there and they were said to be practicing with StarTale players with the coach observing when first rumours about them switching back came out. I really don't know what their status is now, maybe we'll learn more during Code A qualifiers.
