The 8 person girl group Nine Muses are prepared to come and break the stereotype of ‘model-dol’ willing to overcome obstacles and returned splendidly. The less than expected album sales of their debut album are what motivate Nine Muses today to work hard. Having teamed up with producer Sweet Tune from ‘Figaro’, ‘News’ and now this album’s <Sweet Rendevouz> releasing the title song ‘Ticket’, Nine Muses showed they can garner attention with just their music.

Having helped raise Kara and Infinite to the top, Sweet Tune’s song doesn’t just ‘fit’ the singers, but it meets the artists’ course of growth in their musical beliefs. In that sense, ‘Ticket’ shows their musical growth of Nine Muses.

“Since we started as models, there is still a strong prejudice that we can’t sing or dance well. Honestly there are plenty of pretty and fit girls. (laugh) I hope people don’t treat us differently because of that. Please try and see that we are hardworking as pretty singing children” – HyunA.



The album jacket picture for ‘Ticket’ showed a uniform fashion, that another girl group Girl’s Generation did with their song back in 2009 with ‘Tell Me A Wish”, because of the outfit similarities online netizens compared them and posted flaming messages.

“At first when we were compared to SNSD-sunbaenims I felt happy being even mentioned. But little by little they seriously started misunderstanding for real. There is a limit on how different an outfit concept can be, so there is no way to avoid being similar. Uniform fashion is, before Korea started doing it Japan and Europe have done it before. Excluding us, other idol groups wore this as well, so I think it’s wrong to target someone for plagiarism like this. Ah, also we’re Air Force uniforms, and SNSD-sunbaenims are Navy uniforms. (laugh)” – Sera.

Nine Muses after their 2010 August debut, there were complications where 3 members were withdrawn and other situations. There is a saying after the rain the ground strengthens. The members who would maybe be cold towards each other, are unexpectedly take care the team, and show off their great teamwork.

“For models, rank and the order of discipline is harsh. When we gathered first as models, it was no joke. (laugh) We tried adapting as much to each other. Our same company group Z:EA does sort of mock trials and solve problems they have with one another. We solve things quickly as they come. So we there are zero situations where we fight. Maybe acting like grade school students hitting and running. Especially, our maknaes Minha and Hyemi are like that” – LeeSaem.



Nine Muses even amongst girl groups, have a firm and skinny bodyline, and show off their attractive legs. Recently they revealed doing the ‘paper cup’ diet and gathered lots of attention, after asking the specifics of the diet they showed a smiling shy face when answering.

“Mmm, first prepare three cups. One paper cup is with multigrain rice, another one with side dishes, the remaining cup you put in vegetables and fruit. You don’t do it every day. When we’re promoting we adjust accordingly. In the ‘Ticket’ choregraphy there is a ‘Hand-Signal-dance’, following this dance will help with diet as well.” – Hyemi.

If they would use a ‘One Way Ticket’ for the fans, we asked what they would use it on. “Music Program 1st place, and a solo concert would be great as well. But our goal right now is showing our group color. We want to break out limits and grow even more. Until that day, keep cheering for us.” – Eunji.

Recently on a cable channel program, EeYu-Aerin revealed her nickname was Kim Tae Won.

However even if MinHa eats a full table worth is not the type to gain weight, so she is an idol that doesn’t need to diet. Famous before debut as ‘Gunguk University’s Jang Jin Young’, EunJi is the owner of a cool mask and a refreshing smile. Even with a middle-lower tone stable voice, when asking about good qualities as a female actor and when she wants to act, “Recently on <Salaryman Chohanji> seeing Jung Ryuh Won sunbaenim acting out Baek Yeochi, I wanted to try that role. Baek Yeochi’s character in the beginning is a thoughtless character, but showing changes bit by bit, it was a charming character” she says while her eyes sparkled.

Asking about friendly celebrities Hyemi says, “Dal Shabet’s Jiyul/Ahyoung, Rainbow’s Hyunyoung, and Jewelry’s Semi. In boy groups? I’m friendly with B1A4’s Shinwoo.
