Now that I have your attention, here's briefly what's going on!
As previously mentioned, we're going to be hosting a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic marathon specifically for the TeamLiquid bronies. We'll be streaming all of the episodes of season 1 in order (all 9 hours, 38 minutes, 25 seconds worth), plus the occasional PMVs or pony-related videos for bathroom breaks. The actual streaming will most likely take place on SynchTube, with live chat in #tlponies on IRC. My reasoning is that the SynchTube chat sucks ass and #tlponies doesn't.
There will be prize giveaways during the marathon (more information to come when I write the "official" thread for this), but the main goal is to get as many people to show up as possible. Which is proving difficult since everyone lives on different continents.
Hence this post.
I need to know when you guys can make it, so I'll have a series of polls to best determine the optimal time for this. I know a lot of people wanted it to happen this Friday, but... well, that's tomorrow, and it's very short notice at this point. We're still setting things up, so to ensure smooth sailing I would recommend we either do it this Sunday (Nov 6th), or next week some time.
There's also the issue of time of day. With almost ten hours for one sitting, however we choose to do it some Europeans or some Americans are going to get shafted. One suggestion was to have two showings, but that wouldn't work with the prize giveaways. Another thing we could do is to start late for Euros and early for Americans, so that as the showing goes on, Americans start coming on as Euros are going to bed. But I'm still not sold on that.
So here's what I need from you guys.
There are four polls below. Each poll is for a specific date. I want you guys to vote for your preferred time of day under every date you can make it to. If you can't make a specific date, just don't vote in that poll.
But wait. Here's where we need the power of Friendship.
If you can make a date, and if the time of day doesn't matter to you, please vote for "9-12 AM EST / 1-4 PM GMT." This is because everyone - Americans and Europeans - should all be able to watch the entire thing if we begin around 11-12 AM EST / 3-4 PM GMT. In this case, the stream would end around 9-10 PM EST for Americans and 1-2 AM for Europeans. This is for the most part manageable, and is how I personally would prefer to do it.
So, without further ado...
Proceed.

If you have any suggestions for optimizing this process, post them in the thread. I'm just hurrying to get this set up at this point, so expect a few snags. "Official" post for the mare-a-thon is coming when we have a set date.
On an unrelated note, my birthday is on Sunday the 20th of November, and you can be dead sure that I will be dragging all of you fuckers into some pony-related community thing against your will.
wow, i seriously thought this is a HUGE troll thread or something. But apparently it isn't.
Let me ask you this, what is it that this gets older people watch this? I'm so confused. Some are saying that this is actually well done and all that, but I MEAN COME ON? (I'm serious here, After i saw a thread about this in a local Tech forum praising this. I'm really confused right now. )

It's actually a good show with good humor and great characters. Once you get beyond what you think MLP should be like (Ie all those cheesy ads and the old crappy cartoon from the 80s) and realize this isn't like that, you should understand.
The mental image of what MLP should be is what stops most people from enjoying this.

You're probably associating the previous generation of My Little Pony shows to this one, which is why you are confused. This one has great animation, fun well-developped characters, mature humour and a kick ass community. Did you read the opening post? It has a lot of info and answers.

characters, humor, animation style, epic fanbase these are only a few of the reasons

The writers do love their cheese, though. Puns. Everywhere.

Also, I was about to reply to Grettin when I realized that a bunch of you already did... hurrah for us!
Vote anyway, please! That's the point -- if you can make it, vote to let me know. It's not just that you're picking one day over another, it's that you're picking one time of day over another, which is especially important if you can make it to the 9-12 AM EST / 1-4 PM GMT showing.
Besides, I want to see how many people we could reasonably expect to show. I mean, I'd happily host this thing even if only 5-6 people intended to drop by, but it's still cool to know. So... vote!

Already been answered, but I'll echo everyone else and just say that the reason your reaction is one of disbelief and incredulity is because you think we're watching
Have there been any planet of the apes crossovers yet? Seems pretty logical. Some humans arrive on equestria with a space ship. Then they find the statue of liberty : (
Celestia banished all humans to the moon, one of her favorite pastimes.
