He kicked the cable underneath the computer so no, no one would have seen it.

No, Dayfly was leading 1-0, then in the second match, Dayfly had the upper hand. Madfrog saw he was losing( bc, he's experienced) and shut down his computer, he demanded a rematch. With alot of people behind his back Dayfly had to rematch him. making it a 1-2 instead of 2-0. Tillerman wrote a long report on this I remember.

"he shut down his computer"
what the fuck do you know about that? nothing, so i think you should shut up

i honestly think alot of the warcraft players are more immature, i've been following warcraft scene for a while, and they are on the whole younger, and because of that they tend to bitch about alot from what i've seen.

I think rage has something to what he said, but on the other hand they just need to be patient, im not sure IF warcraft will die, but im willing to swap over to dawn of war if its multiplayer is as long-lasting as i hope

I'll try to explain what i remember from that game (I was obsing in a TV outside of the event (eswc 2003)):

it was roc game in Gnoll Wood i think dayfly spawned at 8 and frog at 5. dayfly opened with farseer and a barrack to tier2 and merc strategy while frog went the usual dk + go-to-tier3 etc etc.

after a long game in was like main goldmines depleted and dayfly had 2 great halls and was taking gold while madfrog was not taking any gold, heroes were something like fs6(or5)+tc(4-5)+blademaster(1-2) vs frogs dk(lvl 6 or 7) and lvl5 lich.

frog had only a few buildings left in his main base and started a necropolis at 2 but the problem is that he could not really leave his buildings because thoy would easily have been destroyed with no units (only few mercs dayfly) and no gold income by madfrog, i really think it was only a matter of time, frog could not leave his buildings and dayfly could just massed potions or rebuild a bit and send non-stop shit to destroy frogs buildings.

i may be a little wrong but that's what i remember, i don't know if he did it on purpose or not, hard decision for the admins, but well, shit happens.

they put the goddamn power strip under the table. It was very obvious that all he did was step on it. Thats happened to me so many times that I can understand this to be a probable accident.

Yep, it's like a virtual middle school on War3 bnet. So much bickering, arguing, flaming, etc... I've gone through all that shit years back, and don't want to go back to it, either. It's amazing at how long people will hold grudges over others over a damn internet game.

The community is one of the main reasons why I'm coming back to the BW scene (the other half is the insane repetitiveness that War3 is)

Maybe he didn't shut it down. But hey! Madfrog was losing, and I think he knew that very well deep inside, why didn't he give Dayfly the victory?

4k.Grubby made a series of comments about the Madfrog-Dayfly incident.

Scroll down to a little bit past the halfway mark (Grub posts under the name IQ -55). Don't read the other comments, they rot your brain

Madfrog has probably invested countless hours into warcraft, had he worked a normal job he would of made alot more money and received a lot less stress for his effort. Madfrog owes nothing to no one. He has a right to demand money and if he does not get it he has the right to tell his "team" to fuck off.

People who think that he should be eternally grateful for being succesful are so fucking diluted in their thinking. He worked hard for being the level that he is at. He sacrificed years of his life to achieve what he did.

If madfrog intentionally kicked the cord then he wouldn't be as famous right now. Because he won that semi final vs DayFly, he was ensured top 2, and later OGN made statement that top 2 from eswc was invited to Korea to play in their league. Then Madfrog gets so many hours of quality practice (i don't think anyone can argue that being able to practice like that in Korea won't make you extremely better) and becomes a star. Maybe Madfrog has skill, but his international fame was due to the comp shutdown incident (whether it was intentional or not).

Anyway.. most top american players agree this game is dying. And a lot of people are quitting too, Aether, aT-LwL (so aT die T_T), before dayfly...even I quit this game i've trained 2 hard years on because blizzard has this game no where near balance after about 15 patches.

You are probably right. I remember back in vanilla WC3 when my friend beat some 15yearold that was ranked #1 on the gamingeye ladder. The kid freaked out screaming "smurf!!!" and "hacker!!!" ect and bitched as much as he could. And he's faar from alone. WC3 manner level is like WGT or even worse.
