Sad that I had to miss the games live last night, but just watched the VOD of the MVP game. Congrats Scarlett! Fantastic defense into a perfectly executed timing. Such an awesome first win to pick up in Korea.
Anyone else's heart melt a little seeing how excited and happy MMA looked after Scarlett's win? So cute!

I fuking called it. I fcking called it that the Queen of bLades would cut down the King of Wings. do you know why. cause Scarlett is a boss and she'll only improve in hots proving that she is not only the best foreigner but can contend and crush Koreans.
Also if someone has a link to the vods Id be most appreciative. I was having Surgery when the games were on.
|
Yes I would like VODs too - I saw the games but I missed MMA's reaction to the win and Scarlett eating corn.
Scarlett we r soooo proud of you! (Not that we had anything to do with it but anyway.) <3333

VODs are in the usual spot at Gom, and as always, the first VOD (Scarlett vs MVP) is free, which works out well this time for Scarlett fans that don't have a subscription:

I'm pretty happy about that free vod. I love getting to watch awesome games. Also: FUCK YEAH!

I know some of you guys were speculating / wondering what her direction might be with all the new WCS stuff as well as some of the foreign tournaments. I'm about to watch the new Khaldor interview, but you can read here and she addresses some of those questions down near the bottom of their GSTL match review:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=406447
P.S. Scarlett is a boss and I think i'll spend just a few more minutes relishing in the original AxiomAcer vs IM GSTl thread comments section where everything was initially "MVP ALLKILL INCOMING" and "SCARLETT WILL GET SMASHED". What up now blind ppl!
EDIT: Yep - check out that new awesome Khaldor interview too. They cover a good bit on it as well.

You should totally represent North America at WCS, you can even live in Korea while doing it. First round is probably online and then ro16 and on offline, that's a 2-3 day tournament, 3 times a year to travel. Totally doable.

While not a massive fan of the region locking, especially as a SEA player it is gonna be interesting to see how players react or use this to their benefit. Because qualifiers are online it may be beneficial for Scarlett to stay in KR and train it up and get even better so that she may dominate the NA competitions. But also, what if they decide it must be played on the NA server. The latency issues may be a bit of a problem.
It also depends on whether Acer can afford to send Scarlett to those 3 tournaments per year. I think it may be easier for Bly and Nerchio living in Europe, but constant travel from KR to NA can be quite expensive. it's probably a. Thing that Scarlett will have to talk over with her team
Anyways, what ever she decides, I'll be behind her 100% supporting my favourite Zerg

That's a real shame. Whatever you choose to do good luck! hope someone is trying to get an exception made for you to be able to play code A and still be able to play in NA qual's would be awesome.

Hey Scarlett, I watched your game vs MVP today and I must say, if you can beat MVP in even one game you have talent. Don't rest on your laurels though, keep practicing and improve, improve! Never be happy with where you are, that is the key to becoming the best.
Korea is where it is at if you want to become elite, so tough it out and stay there. I watched you since WCS Canada and being a Canadian myself I am really cheering for you. Good luck and don't settle for anything less than the best. GLHF.

It's a difficult situation for all pro players really. From K's interview it does sound like (unlike many) Scarlett is pretty settled in Korea and can cope with living and working there at least for the medium-term. Although it in many ways makes more sense to play NA for WCS, it seems wrong to give up the opportunity of Korean-grade practice and team house experience. Of course, she can always change region next time round.
Many factors to consider. I think probably I would stay in Korea and practice there, play GSTL or whatever else I am allowed to play, but play NA for WCS (the ping isn't so bad kor to na). Then next "season" or whatever they will be called, consider the situation again, and maybe try for a GSL run.
Scarlett has already shown by her decision to refuse a seed into GSL that she is about improving her overall game and not just about making a quick splash or making fast money. I'm sure whatever she decides in the end will reflect her long-term approach to her game.
glgl!

Win or lose, rooting for you Scarlett!

Can't Scarlett just spread creep from KR to NA and play both places at once? I saw a bunch of creep in a TvP match once, and then realized that Scarlett was playing on the map next door and some of the creep spilled over.
Seriously. Her creep spread is nuts.
