You dont see those young pros in korea saying that about there stream right? Because they dont care about age its about being the best.
So you don't think he would be better in the end if he went to slayers and trained with them, than if you or anyone older and less skilled goes?

Maru prime is 15 and grandmaster world wide top player and when he streams he barely gets 1.5-2k. and he's young and amazing, not just good. Strange world! exactly what im trying to say, I dont mind amature players saying oh im dedicated young gamer come watch! But when they bring age up its a different story. When you win gsl in a young age like how good maruPrime is doing then sure go for it.

You ask why?
Most of these stream posts of unknown players get like maybe one page. This one is up to six...
If people want to market their stream some other way then let them, it's not always about skill. Obviously 1.1k master is still good but no need to tell people to stop being "gimmicky"... If it works it works, let them market it how they want.
GL with the stream bro.

Wait.
WHAT?
You're trying to compare a major league in hockey where professionals have to go through rigorous training every day build their body and endurance up to the point that they can handle the strain on top of the stupidly low chance of actually becoming a professional athlete under ANY circumstance.
To hitting masters league in sc2?
I'm sorry but I litterally laughed myself out of my chair in the office with that. It's been stated over and over again in this thread that when you're younger you have less to worry about, more time to practice and less shit you have to handle in order to live day to day life.
Lets compare a 15 year old who makes it "pro" in hockey (quotes because you actually can't, you're not fit/stable enough at 15 to be signed by any major team.) A 15 year old who goes "pro" in hockey has spent years and years, probably since he was ~8 or so practicing hockey to become a prodigy, he then has put the effort into making his talent known among scouts and the right people in the right places (no it's not as simple as calling a number and saying "hey my son is a god at hockey, come look!") He would then have to prove to the world that he was a prodigy, in obvious ways and be faced with the pressure of his family friends and everyone who knew him to live up to the expectation put upon him that garnered the attention to give him a shot in the first place.
Now lets compare that to a 13 year old in masters league on sc2: Kid doesn't have much homework (shit, summer vacation? Don't even get me started.) He sits on the computer, has all day to play and practice, watch replays vods and streams with little to no external effort, finding a replay is as simple as using google. Considering a good part of Starcraft is reflexes and muscle memory, the more he plays the more his body begins to adapt to a simple game, he is not at risk of suddenly snapping his wrists or fingers while typing *assuming he has no disease.* This means he is able to practice all day with no stress, he's 2 young to pay bills, he's probably not dating in a serious way and he certainly doesn't have to take care of anyone. His reflex and muscle memory improves, his knowledge of the game improves (again, no external effort needed) and he's able to get into masters. Compare the two. (Hint, the sc2 one takes a few months tops.)
Oh, masters is also widely considered a joke, you don't have to be a prodigy to get into masters, you just have to devote time and want to improve enough to get there.
For the record: I have nothing against this kid or his pursuit in streaming/garnering fans. I may think his method is very gimmicky and stupid considering it's not even a personality thing...But I have no issues against him and sincerely hope he's able to prove how amazing he is online and offline.
But for the kid who tried to compare masters league in sc2 to being a 15 year old pro hockey player, really? Lol.

Gotta agree with the people who say age doesn't matter. Good play should make people want to watch you, not a gimmick.

cognitive thinking and dedication of a 13 year old is so much lower than post puberty, and as ive already said in the post after that, the point is that the younger you are, the more interesting your accomplishments are
lol the only funny part is that you took my analogy into an ultra serious note, it was pretty clear it wasnt meant to be taken that way (only further supported by my preceding post)
once again, theres a reason majority of players that are good or just rts games are post puberty, or at least nearing there
EDIT: as others have said, 1.1k is pretty high masters, not just some lucky diamond kiddo

I'd just echo a lot of the rest of the thread and tell you to be careful as a young person on the internet. By putting up a stream with a web cam, you're really putting yourself out there, and there's plenty of adults who can't handle the criticism/scrutiny that comes with public exposure. 1.1k+ is not just masters, it's quite high masters. I don't believe many kids of 13yo have the mental maturity to achieve it.

my little sister is just 12, and to think someone a year old than her can play sc2 at Masters level is quite surreal.
i prolly shouldnt be this impressed, but i am. gl with your stream. ^_^

Good luck! Not quite sure why people are so up in arms about this, but keep practicing and doing well!

lol i dunno about you haters, but i definitely clicked on it because it said 13 year old in masters lol. why would i just watch some random dude in masters, boring.

That's ridiculous.
When I was 13 I was managing a CS server and playing against Cal I caliber players... I'd spend 8-10 hours a day playing CS1.6 and SC1.
13 year olds aren;t as immature and stupid as everyone here is making them out to be.
BUT, 13 is a great age for gaming as physically you are sharp and unworn, CTS hasn't started to plauge you, work/school isn't an issue, you don't have to think much about girls and balancing social life and gaming, etc.
Don't rag on this kid though, him and others like him are the future of our community.

NajzMajs vs hammarlund would indeed be epic:D

I hate when people play the sex/age card. I don't care about it. Play the game, and if you're good and have a nice personality I'll watch. But, playing that age card makes me not want to even consider turning your stream on.

I am not even suprised, makes sense that younger players got more time to play and practice as the young adults and teens are working and going school same time
|
need to rename my stream thread "22 year old white male streaming sc2!"

It's pretty obvious that the reason the majority of players that are good in rts games are post puberty, because it takes a ridiculous amount of time spent infront of the computer, while not having fun. There are hardly any kids out there who like playing a frustrating and hard game for a longer period of time, while there are much more fun games out there. If SC2 was a fun game and you wouldn't need 5 hours a day to be halfway decent, there would be alot more young 'pros'.
