My normal show is on Sundays at 9:00pm PST, and I will do random Sneak Attack streams whenever I can fit it in! You can stay updated on schedules @TaraBabcock on Twitter.
UPDATE: My channel has a new look and is now a partnered stream on TwitchTV!
So far, I have played Diablo III, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Sawrm beta, League of Legends, World of Warcraft Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria Beta and osu! live on stream. I plan to play other games as well, such as Amnesia, Trine, Kingdoms of Amalur, and more, although I want a StarCraft solo ladder practice-centered stream, ideally.
I'm a professional model, entrepreneur, and life-long gamer girl. I've been playing video games of all kinds since I could walk, and I've played thousands over the years, while owning (and molesting the crap out of, daily) dozens of consoles and handheld platforms. In the last few years, I've also really gotten into computer games!
I also write gaming articles for Impulse Gamer that can be found HERE!
I've decided to stream because, other than the constant pushing from all of my friends, I wanted to accomplish two things: get comfortable in front of a video camera, and get more in touch with the gaming and eSports communities. I also thought it would be fun to document my attempt to rise in the StarCraft II ladder ranks, and share it with the world! I feel it will force me to face and overcome my weaknesses to make me a stronger gamer overall. It's my ultimate goal to branch my modeling career off toward the gaming industry, and to promote eSports, gaming, and anything nerd-related!
For more links, info, and more, please check out my channel, websites, and social networking pages!
Come watch, support, and chat! I welcome trolls and supporters alike! Ask questions, make jokes! I am confident and comfortable enough to laugh at myself, and I feel viewer/fan interaction with the broadcaster is really important!
I only saw half of the title in the user stream section and I was like WTF? Then I opened and was even more like WTF?! I always knew us gamers were sexy
Jokes aside, I think this is really cool. I'll definitely check it out if I can remember it
I watched you play the Gameclucks... I plan to check out your stream too. I think it's important for E-Sports to get more females involved, maybe you can help with that? And it doesn't hurt that you aren't hard on the eyes GOGO TaraFighting!
Aww, you guys are so awesome! Go gamer girls, and more gamers, in general! I'm hoping that I will pull some non-gamers in by promoting the stream to my model fans, too! I'll post when I go live tomorrow and Sunday!
Tesla, we should stream together or something some time!
I hope to see you all at MLG Anaheim/E3! I have press passes for Impulse Gamer... I'm super nervous!
OMG! How could you misspell my name!? It's "Tara".
Haha, anyway. Some of my favorites are SeleCT, TLO, HerO, KawaiiRice, Sheth, iNcontroL, Idra, etc. Most of my favorites are Terran (because I play Terran), and Zerg.
I really admire SeleCT's control and multi-pronged dropship play a lot.

Interesting that you only list "foreing" players. Do you follow the Korean scene? Sorry about the name.
I do. I watch GSL and all that jazz, and of course the events I follow feature Korean players too (primarily, even). I don't know why the favorites that first pop into my head happen to all be foreign. Coincidence, I guess.
SC2/BW Pros and Casters > Regular Celebrities any day!
Thanks for the love! Also, my Sunday shows run pretty late for EU viewership, and I try squeeze in some during the week for EST and US viewers... like this evening!
I'm going to record for tomorrow's StarCast episode, and then I'll be playing some HELL D3! www.twitch.tv/starcastshow <---- Tomorrow 8pm EDT!
Why am I in no way surprised that there's a seemingly endless flow of females whoring themselves out for attention by acting like nerds? I'm not sure what I find more disgusting though; the fact that this is happening, or the fact that there's an overwhelming response to it.
Not entirely shocking that a bunch of beta males on the internet shit themselves as soon as a moderately attractive slutty girl starts streaming SC2 at a low level. If you weren't a female, literally no one would care and probably ignore this. It's unfortunate that you're actually sinking to the level of admitting that you have no value other than your body and exploiting that for attention.

Mad that the closest you'd ever be to a girl like this is watching her on the internet? Don't know why else you'd post something like that, plus I think she was in to gaming before now and before SC2, not sure though. Not trying to be a white knight or anything, but that's just mean ;\.

You start off with an ad-hominem. Solid work. I'm posting this because I find it depressing that we're encouraging women to whore themselves out to this extent. The entire basis of this thread is that she's a slutty looking girl who is bad at video games. That's the core of what's going on here.
I'm not saying this with any misogynistic intentions. In fact, I find it relatively sexist that people promote this so hard based off such shallow motives. Don't say this is "mean", I'm responding to both the people posting in this thread and the OP.
ps. Dear Haters, by posting hate on here you, too, are boosting my thread back to the top and adding views/comments to the fire. If you really don't want me to succeed, just ignore me. If I am not a "real gamer" with "value" I will go away eventually! Just a thought.
Wow, this person has differing views, he must not be serious and I should not, under any circumstances, take his views into consideration. I'm not entirely baffled that someone whose entire personality is "wow look at me i'm bad at video games and have plastic tits" is incapable of formulating an argument.
Oh, and by "boosting this thread back to the top" I'm creating more opportunities for people to appreciate you for the wrong reasons, and hopefully bring light to how common this kind of behavior is in the gaming world. 10/10
On another note. This stream does not further the case for both:
1. Respect for girl gamers 2. respect for eSports
This entire stream is a dedication to women's sexuality and not their skill. People bitch and moan about how girl gamers constantly get no respect for their skill and only their body, and it's things like this that do NOT help. I would totally be for this streamer if she hadn't posted pictures of her 3/4 naked, and been a glam-fest over what eSports is meant for, GAMING. This is not a modelling scene, and never will be. Wonder why profession girl gamers such as Flo or Startale Rainbow's girlfriend (forgot her name) have respect and don't get extra attention? It is because they carry themselves professionally, they aren't out for attention, they play because it is what they love.
With that said, this is an attention whoring stream at a glance, and I sincerely hope you will not take this as a personal attack, but as a reasonable post by a non-white knight observer.

Thank you for contributing to my main points. I'm thankful you remembered to make the comparison between this and actual girl gamers like Flo, Aphrodite, and Eve, because they're appreciated for their skill and not their ability to market their sexuality.
Obviously this point is going to be massively neglected and people are going to say "She just wants to put out entertaining content", but when that entertaining content is her ability to show off cleavage, how is that justified?
I have been a gamer since I could remember, and I have all of my "gamer cred" on my stream page. I write for a gaming website, I have a gamer tattoo, I spend thousands of hours gaming, have dozens of consoles and hundreds of games.
I decided to use my modeling to boost the gaming scene. Many of my viewers are new to TwitchTV/streaming, etc. and are now incredibly into it. I've gotten countless men, women, models, etc. to start playing games and I created my TwitchTV layout with the help of their admins to make sure everything is to their ToS standards. I also now have the support of GoSc and many influential male and female gaming personalities, too.
That is the only thing I have to say in my defense. No need to fuel the ignorant fire further.
As for being bad at gaming: StarCraft is a HARD game, that requires hours of practice, and cognitive skills. I am doing my best to rise in the ladder ranks, and I honestly love the game. I'm great at other games, actually!

"I decided to use my modeling to boost the gaming scene."
That's the problem, though.
Keep in mind, I'm not attacking you or trying to demean you, I'm just slightly offended at how effective marketing your sexuality is; I'm not offended at your exploiting it.

This actually ignores everything we have said and didn't address any issues we have brought up. We have a problem with your marketing sex for views over skill. It demeans women and gaming in general. You are turning our scene into a giant joke.
Some people use "12 year old", or "Top-level Korean GM pro", to market their stream. I use what I've got, personality, gaming experience, and modeling/sexuality. I'm sorry that, to some people, that is not just as valid or moral. I promise you I have good intentions and mean to further gaming and eSports as a mainstream pass time and endeavor. <3

oh don't worry i don't actually care i actually just hate attentionwhores and the people that support them
the thing is, "Top-level koeran GM pro" is actually a good thing, because, you're know, they're streaming gameplay and they're good at the game.

Renaming my stream to
Male-stripper-stud Nightshade 12 year old Korean protoss streaming High KR Bronze ♥!
I'll love, someday, marketing as a Plat+ level SC2 player AND model. Right now, I don't have any credentials like that to draw in viewers. Simply putting "Gamer with lots of heart and twice the games!" would be cute, but not effective.
My point was that I am within the law, and TwitchTV ToS, and I am proud of my modeling career, gaming articles/work, and don't see anything wrong with making fun of myself and creating an interesting and different experience for gamers where they can feel mainstream and gaming coming together seamlessly!

I personally don't find it demeaning for the community. Elysium, you make some good points that support your opinion, but remember... it's just an opinion. Please stop pushing your ideals as gospel.
Good luck Tara! I believe people like yourself have the potential to attract a demographic to the scene that would otherwise be clueless of its existence

Thanks Supah Mario!
It's a demographic that may be just curious, or drawn in at first "by the tits", but one who will fall in love with the game and gaming, inevitably!
Moar viewers (for whatever reason) = moar diverse gaming love!

That's an awfully liberal generalization, only attracted to the tits... how can you even begin to make an argument that is predicated on absolutes like that?
And I really can't imagine why we'd want more demographics to tune in... (moneyviewerssponsorshurrrdurrr)

Hey nao!
I cover my "tits" on most of the images on my page. It's all stuff you can see if you see me, or anyone else, walking down the street! There WAS more, but I needed to be more PG. I also keep the content warning up to ensure I don't offend anyone on accident.
I'm conscious of the unfortunate stigma around my work and my "kind". I understand the need for sexuality and the lack of comfort society generally has with it, and I've tried to be as sensitive as I could be without changing who I am.

Shes hot?? Curse she is. May she take adventage of that?? Good for her if she does, any person have to abuse any gift he/she have. Welcome to the real world son, you have to be smart and take any (loyal and legal) advantages.

If someone enjoys watching a superb hot girl playing sc2, AMAZING! Now they have her ^^ What's the problem with that??
I'm not gonna watch the stream, i just prefer to watch top players and if i want to see a girl on my screen i prolly go to other kind of page... But that is JUST my personal opinion. I LOVE to see someone like her in the comunity.

Well, I don't just stream SC, and some of my pics ARE SC related. They are, however, nerd/gaming related (aside from the ONE model image, marketing my "Supermodel Nerd" handle).
They are, in actuality, PG-13 or less images showing less than you'd see at a beach.
The only thing wrong here is the few people who just cannot get past the tits, and that's all they see her as. YOU are the demeaning ones who just see women with big breasts as "just a set of tits," and YOU are demeaning gamer girls as a whole. Tara is a gamer and an entertainer, in many ways similar to some popular streamers who are in Gold league. DJ Wheat and Total Biscuit get viewers despite not being GM, because they are entertaining and fun to watch. If they ALSO had a set of nice tits, regular people would just see that as a benefit, and something extra to look at. Perverts and sexists would troll and flame due to their inability to see past the tits and realize there's more than that.
Either way, drawing more regular people in to play SC2 is one of the best ways for the community and eSport to grow. A lot of Tara's fanbase doesn't even know what Twitch.tv is, and the fact that her "tits" will be drawing in more members is good for all streamers and games as a whole.

Well, I don't just stream SC, and some of my pics ARE SC related. They are, however, nerd/gaming related (aside from the ONE model image, marketing my "Supermodel Nerd" handle).
They are, in actuality, PG-13 or less images showing less than you'd see at a beach.
so if i were to make a stream thread where half the original post were pictures of me in my underwear showing off my bulge, that would be totally okay, right? i just so happen to be a popular male stripper in vegas
you can't tell me there's nothing sexualized in an image of you in your underwear in a suggestive pose
OK arguments end here, please stop the debating. To each his own, and thanks to TL admins for leaving my thread up and for those in support of me. I shall prove myself, if I have not already.
I will only post on topic stream-related things and answers to stream/SC2/gaming questions from here forth.
I don't see the big deal. So what even if she was in fact maliciously trying to cash in on nerds by appealing to nerd stereotypes and showing her tits. Is that different then any other eSports company trying to turn a buck? Is it ok to have deceiving marketing campaigns, big capital investment and corporate sponsors that plauge the industry with greasy fat food cause, ya know all gamers are fat nerds? tits = bad, commercial industry = good. Ok, got it. To be honest I'd rather see tits allday then Monster energy cans or hot pocket commercials, maybe that's me.
I won't watch her stream because I don't care to see silver level play regardless of tits but to act like what she's doing is morally reprehensible is laughable.
Sell out to industry, but NEVER to TITS!! Community FIGHTING!!

Hi, I just wanted to say after reading the last few pages, that in my opinion anything to further the grow of eSports within reason, which this obviously is, is great ! Especially since Tara has said that these are mostly new viewers, modeling friends etc, which to be honest, are not the first people I expect to have anything to do with SC2 or video games in general. (sorry if that's a bit stereotypical :p).
Tara also states she has played games all her life, maybe more than a lot of people on TL.net and if she wants to share it then how is that any different from anyone else streaming their games ? Comments likes the ones people have posted here already and will inevitably post more of just seem so ignorant.
Also, Tara, I think you look beautiful!, and from what I have read you are very hard working, I feel kind of inspired to attempt to achieve things myself ! Unforunately I am very lazy :D. I wish you the best of luck with streaming, improving at SC2 so that you can prove to everyone that you do really love gaming and hopefully you can get a decent fanbase to watch your stream regularly ! Good Luck and Have Fun. (:
Also, "The opinions expressed by our users do not reflect the official position of TeamLiquid.net or its staff." So, doesn't matter what anyone thinks. xD
Hot girl, plays SC2, is actually a gamer, doesn't have bad grammar, promotes ESPORTS, is approved by Day9? Might have been interested until I saw that she plays fucking Terran(and Zerg).

*and to be fair I only used the analogy if she was infact 'maliciously exploiting nerd culture' she probably isn't, but even if she is, whocares.*
God forbid anybody with more that one iota of personality, good looks, or anything that does not convey stereotypical nerd/nerdette traits should start streaming...
The first impression I got from some people in this thread are: "OMG U GOT TITS GTFO UR RUINING ESPORTS!!11!!". Please... there are literally hundreds of streams that are producing the content you would clearly rather see. Don't like it? Don't watch. Simple.
Besides its not like she put on her swimwear, turned the webcam on, and started to play SC2, it's clear she's putting in some effort to try and provide a different viewer experience. Give the girl a break...
I don't know why people are giving this girl problems with her stream and how she gets attention when we have 'pros' like destiny who get by with racist language appealing to a 13 year old white male userbase, or for instance Idra, who hasn't had results in months but is still the center of attention to most people due to how he expresses himself. Or maybe this community is still pretty misogynist.
She can stream if she wants to. If you don't like it don't watch.
I don't see why some prudes are complaining because they think that she is exploiting her sexuality to gain viewers. So what if she is? There are hundreds of streamers out there, she is just trying to distinguish herself from them. Nothing wrong with that.

Actually I don't understand your argument here...what exactly is wrong with people showing their body off? Incidentally it would be okay for you to post images of your "bulge", if you wanted to exude that kind of appeal and show off your looks. Frankly I don't understand the need to ask a question that basically entails the exact same situation as this one, it would be obviously hypocritical to say no.
Why does e-sports *have* to be about just a game, and only a game? Can it not also have beautiful women and men? Why should those people not be allowed to showcase their beauty, and use it in a way that adds to the enjoyment of a stream?
Or are you one of those people who think that sex or anything sexually related is wrong/immoral, or that breasts are evil somehow? A stream can be about more than a game, if a person wants it to be. People should be proud of their beauty, and if they want to show it off there's nothing wrong with that.
If the stream was her explicitly dancing around with lingerie on then maybe you could argue that it doesn't belong on a gaming site. But she merely uses it as an accessory to her stream, showing off what is an important aspect of her persona.
edit: i never said that sexuality and nudity is wrong, i'm just saying that it's hilarious that you retards simultaneously discourage sexism and then worship a silver league stream because the girl is hot
hey guys here's my video game stream thread but first here's a picture of me almost nude it's relevant on this video game website i swear even though that's not what will be on the stream at all
I love women as a heterosexually-oriented man. In fact, I am biologically (perhaps with some societal pressures) programmed to be attracted to big bosoms (enhanced or not), for they will greatly enhance the amount of mama juice my offsprings will receive. Why would I fight this urge?
Also despite my busy schedule as a college student, I love playing/watching Starcraft 2. Being a Korean and having pride in my people's successes and triumphs in this game only motivate me more to delve into this game. However, as much as I love the competitive scene, I love spreading my love for SC2 to non-gamers. Unfortunately, my first try (my mom) failed miserably.
Therefore, I see it as, at one hand, I enjoy watching MLG and GSL for SC2 excellence. But the other, watching Tara (and her journey to actually getting better) seems to combine what I stated above quite perfectly. I will gladly watch whatever entertains me and what I enjoy watching. This doesn't mean I will stop loving the competitive scene. It does not demean eSports in any way. What Tara does will not define what eSports is. It's just a niche within the game and the community that the few (a huge understatement) of us can enjoy.

It's actually pretty fucking simple. It also doesn't matter if nobody brought up the point, I did. The communties 'values' are silly and arbitrary.
Here I'll make it as simple as possible.
Nobody complains when corporate america exploits gamer stereotypes to push their product in the interest of (prepare for shock) making money. Yet some hot model does the exact same thing but with her looks and tits and suddenly it's a travesty. For some strange reason this community doesn't care when companies exploit us to make money because we 'feel' it's for eSports that they're really doing this to grow our cause. Like hot fucking pockets or Dr. Pepper gives any shit about eSports if they didn't feel they got an ROI. Why can't an individual do the same thing? Why can't a hot model play in skimpy outfits and be entertainment for the community that wants to watch while growing her own brand (herself)?
What's the problem? What's the issue? Why do you care? Are you forced to watch her stream? Are you really just so upset that she posted these particular pictures in a TL thread? Are you that upset she's using her body to 'promote' her stream? What if she was using a keyboard give away? What if she was using a beta giveaway? What if she was plastering her sponsors all over the post? What the fuck do you actually care about?
People use a billion things to promote their stream or their brand, and it has nothing to do with starcraft and it's never a fuss. WellI shouldn't say never, Destiny is evidence of that, racial language is apparently the line that mustn't be crossed. I don't see the problem with a hot chick using her body. The only issue I can see is you feel she's not geniune that she's exploiting her sexuality to make a buck off of nerds through exposure or stream views. Which goes back to my original point that everyone who sponsors esports already does that and I've already clearly defined that for you multiple times.

people don't complain as much about corporate sponsorship because without it, "esports" would be dead

and I never responded to you to begin with until you called out my 'strawman', why are you even talking to me anyway? If you don't like my analogy tell me why or move the fuck on. You're tiresomely whiny.
i don't even know what we're arguing about anymore but the fact that you're compensating for your lack of reasoning/argumentative ability with response to tone and ad-hominem is humorous
okay i'm actually done now, peace
nobody knows what he's talking about, for it doesn't make sense nor does it apply to what anybody has been saying
Which goes back to my original point that everyone who sponsors esports already does that and I've already clearly defined that for you multiple times.
again you're comparing two drastically different things
people don't complain as much about corporate sponsorship because without it, "esports" would be dead
you brought up this weird argument that's very vaguely related to what we were saying and now you're trying to apply it to what i'm saying
stop it
if i was mistaken in assuming you were directing it at us, that's all you had to say
you then got all offended and actually began directing it at us
I can perfectly understand what crms is saying. It makes sense. And I do not get either what the issue here is.

Personally I'd welcome anyone who is an actual sc fan and geniunely wants to help promote gaming and e-sports in general.
Unfortunately Lindsey Sporrer (another aspiring model/actress) set a bad precedence when she basically feigned enthusiasm for SC and her desire to start/learn to play the game solely for the sake of her NASL gig. It was somewhat disappointing when people found out it was all an act.
All I can say is I hope you aren't just using TL for exposure and self-promotion. If you really are a fan of this game then I say welcome
Jesus, if you don't like the product Tara is producing, don't buy/watch/use the product, it's that simple. Her stream literally does no harm to you whatsoever. She's an extremely attractive woman playing video games, if you don't want to watch that, then don't.
It seems like she's doing an excellent job promoting SC2 to people who might not ordinarily watch or play it, and that's great.
EDIT: Not only that, but if you're actually offended (which I doubt) and think this demeans women gamers or ruins the scene (which it doesn't) then stop posting in this thread and bump Quanticflo's fan club or her stream page, or Scarlett's, or SlayersEve's, or StartaleAphrodite's. Bring positive attention to female gamers instead of a shit ton of negative TL posts.
People are critical on literally every thread I go to now adays.... it's kinda sad, people just need to stick to the "If you don't have something nice to say than don't say it at all" rule.
Anywho Tara Goodluck Streaming!!! I'll be tuning in when I can, And you can become master level at starcraft anybody can! Just takes hard work. :-) And stick with terran it's the only race that I actually can have respect for, the other races are too imba!!!
So yeah just work hard and stop playing D3 and just play sc2 nonstop.
Why do people care? You sound like those extremely religious peeps that openly condones everything that they dont agree with. If it offends you it is much easier for you to not have anything to do with it than her shutting down what she wants to do.

Okay, from reading this, all I get was:
"Even if you don't like being advertised tits to watch someone, how dare you interrupt my enjoyment of bouncy breasts?"
I mean seriously -___-, they aren't wrong. Can you guys say seriously that you would be as interested in this stream if we didn't get a preview of how hot she was? She isn't exactly good at this game :\, she posts like she's trying to be cute, the whole thing is generally based upon her sex appeal.
Now, that's not really as much of a problem that seems to quell so much attacks from both sides, because all she has to do is remove her picture, and just maybe replace it with a picture of her playing the game? I mean, how much would that resolve? All of it, because she's no longer advertising her sexuality, it just randomly appears in the OP. Now, the idea is that she posts a reasonable picture, not one with the skimpy clothing, and uses that instead. Why doesn't that work?
I agree with pretty much all of the other guys who were stating that she's giving an unhelpful hand to what girl gamers are: just gamers that girls by accident. If we look at Eve, Aphrodite, Scarlett, and Flo, we notice that they play the game at a respectably high level. Even MsSpyte, who isn't super hot like Tara but plays at Masters level, is a good example because she's working hard to improve her gameplay. This isn't to say Tara isn't doing that; it simply entails that her OP doesn't really give the vibe that she cares much about the game but more about gathering personalities for her modelling career, and I'm pretty sure that worked although it could only be a side effect of a picture that doesn't promote her for what she wanted for.
So, pretty simple solution I think, just change the OP picture? Just to one of her playing the game in reasonable clothing (basically the easiest picture to get), maybe bedazzle her OP with pictures of her gameplay, etc.
I mean, to want to market one's sexuality to such an extent that one actually picked as lewd a picture as possible isn't exactly what we should want as anything. I mean, why would we want a whore to be mainstream (which I think is the goal of every streamer)?
wtf who cares if she has provocative clothing on or not, shes a supermodel. is every female who plays starcraft 2 supposed to wear a business suit or 3 layers of clothing for them to be acceptable? oh no theres a stream of a female player who wears less clothing than most, i better start a bunch of shit about it even though i dont have to watch it if i dont want to.
people have to fucking lighten up.
i didn't tune in today but since you're playing diablo 3 ill tune in next time. gl hf.
Stupidest arguments ever. Most of my teammates have met her at Gameclucks and I haven't heard a single bad thing.
It's really stupid for anyone who argues against a person using their strengths to their advantage. Using attractiveness/sexuality to market oneself is no different than using intellectual accomplishments to make yourself look more impressive on a resume. People use what they have to get the most out of situations.
The argument that the only way someone can be legitimized by this community is by being good at the game is baseless. Entertainers make a living entertaining people, one can entertain in this game without being good at it. Day9 probably isn't a pro gamer, but people listen to his word as if God himself said it. Destiny isn't a top level gamer, but everyone loves him. TotalBiscuit, Djwheat, all those guys are far from being professionals, and yet they are pillars of the community.
If Tara wants to use her sexuality to entertain people on her stream, who cares. Further, if her doing this gets people who otherwise wouldn't have known about eSports into the community, that's a measurable benefit. It just so happens that she is the first one doing it. People also think that it's impossible for an attractive female to possibly be into gaming.
Gordon Hayward streamed and got featured, and yet he's a gold level player. Him streaming and Tara streaming are really similar, he even posted a thread on TL to advertise his stream - and nobody cared. Nobody should care about this either, other than watch if you want to, and don't watch if you don't want to.
Personally, I think it's great. If more models want to start streaming that would be cool. If James Franco started playing SC and streamed with a webcam, or some other hot male model... it would be the same thing. In fact, I call for some male models to start streaming and give female fans some eye candy to watch... then we can get a buncha self righteous threads about males exploiting their chiseled abs for stream views.

To all the people that came in here to give her crap, why dont I see any of your faces in a males stream thread telling him how he is selling out this or that because he isn't GM while streaming, or because he might be attractive, or whatever silly things you come up with to pretend your not being judgemental misogynists?

It's so funny that whenever you combine girls, games and sexiness, everyone here feels so "abused", because clearly they are the target of a stereotype exploiting marketing trick. And it's true. Sex sells, big newsflash. But the point is, if the girl is comfortable showing her goodies, and if you still have your five senses together, you can just decide to not watch out of whatever reason you think it is, that makes you feel uncomfortable, watching a nicely presented cleavage.
Damn, I guess, Tara , I'll not be able to watch your stream while at work, that cleavage (and wall posters) is so NSFW Leaving the jokes aside, good luck, hope one day you will get good enough to participate in SC2 competitions (if you plan to keep on playing SC2).
Thanks so much for the continued support and any constructive criticism! I'm on the StarCast tonight at 8pm EDT! Check it out and support their awesome StarCraft-centered show on Twitch! I'll post links to VODs after the fact, too!
Haters are gonna hate and you seem somewhat intelligent (at least intelligent enough to realize this is a demographic ready to be exploited by "sexy gamer girls"), but I just wish people like you would stop making a mockery out of "actual" nerds by putting on those ridiculous clothes and glasses, all the while being a ex cheerleader clothed-porn model with plastic tits and lips. I heard the term "blackface for nerds" once and if this isn't it I don't know what is.
Also I would recommend making your webcam at least twice as big, as that will net you far more viewers. It doesn't make sense to have the section of the screen that displays 99% of the reason people are watching your stream be as big as it would be for most reasonable pro-gamers, who only display their cam as an aside but are mainly watched for their high level gameplay.
There are a lot of non-pro streams that do not get massive negative comments. Should we hate on Tara because she has a model career and is proud of it? I don't see any difference from pointing people to the Graphic Design I do for a living on my show.
If you have an issue with a free piece of content don't consume it. No one is forcing you to watch and there won't be news segments on CNN or FOX denouncing eSports because a model is involved.
Shameless self promotion: Tune in to StarCast tonight to see our interview with Tara. She is a real gamer who also happens to be a model. She's completely in her right to be proud of what she does.

Lolwat? It could not have been any more obvious. It was actually so obvious that I would not even call it "faking" interest, but rather being professional.
Tara Babcock seems like a different type btw. Already the way she argues on this forum makes her look pretty nerdy. You would never see that from a Lindsay Sporrer.

Yes her enthusiasm *at* the event was very obviously put on but all the twitter updates about how exciting the finals looked and how it made her want to start playing the game herself was unnecessary and crossed the line from "being professional" to being disingenuous. There was a lot of talk about how she wanted to stream her first playing experience but never did. She was very active on twitter during the NASL but once the event was over she stopped posting any updates and then resumed tweeting about upcoming modeling/acting gigs and never mentioned sc or the NASL again =/
It was rather amusing how quickly a fanclub was made for her that reached almost 100 pgs and with a lot of members only to be forgotten just as fast.
lol whats with all this negativity? nothing wrong with a gorgeous girl playing video games and being a nerd! Need more of them good luck with your stream :D

I hope society will realize eventually that oversexualization is just nothing wrong, except to kids. It's just the mentality of the moment. I don't think there's a single solid argument for saying it's wrong much, it's a matter of perception. It just doesn't relate that much to gender equality IMO. If it becomes accepted, we'll just feel more free.
Was curious what all the fuss was about. Much like women in physics, we need more women playing games. Unfortunately this crap seems to happen a lot when men are intimidated by women on the internet.
Will watch your stream if I ever happen to be around when you stream. Have fun!

I love the support that I am receiving , as well as any support for the eSports community, girl gamers, and the mainstream-izing of gaming! YAY!
There will be a stream this Sunday at the normal 9pm PST time, I'll be playing SC2, but I might do team games this time. I've barely had any time to practice with E3, MLG, and the respective articles I have to write for Impulse Gamer! Busy time! :-/

Yeah but she could throw a mention in the interview if she is really sincere about expanding gaming horizons. At the moment it does look like she's jumping on the bandwagon a little bit.

I'm just shocked that you guys could actually FIND an interview where I did NOT mention gaming, since I could quickly link you 100s in the last 4 years of my career where I talked about it. I mean, it's to the point where there is so much evidence that I have been gaming since I could walk that I don't care to stick up for myself in that regard.
As far as eSports, I admit that is new to me, but it is amazing to me how eSports is an outlet where I can finally connect with people who like gaming on a new level because there are events, parties, teams, etc. I can turn to. It used to be like looking for a needle in a haystack throughout life, trying to find others who liked gaming like I do. It was more something I did in my home, and just mentioned occasionally, now I feel it can be something I can help make mainstream because there are events and tournaments with fans that are devoted, passionate... and apparently really protective of who let allow into their community. Not that that is a bad thing.
Hopefully that made sense. Haha! Either way, WOOT eSports!
Welcome and good luck climbing the ladder! I think it's great that the SC2 community continues to attract a wide variety of players, personalities, and skill levels. The more the merrier imho. Do you have any plans to play 1v1 on stream?

I have streamed 1v1 practice twice out of my handful of times streaming so far, I plan to make the stream 90% 1v1 ladder practice/sparring, but it's really stressful, and the trolling of how bad I am actually gets to me when I stream. For someone who is not used to it, it can be stressful, but from next week on, I plan to take the dive and make that my main focus.
I just want to practice a bit more in private so I can get comfortable enough, and learn not to tilt when I lose.

Thanks so much! Right now I don't feel like I am at the point where I want coaching or help from GMs or anything unless I know them personally very well. I don't take instruction very well.
I'm super glad you enjoyed the stream, just wait until I am in the higher leagues, it's be even more exciting!

LMAO! Priceless! Tricia is so OP! That guys is a jerk for assuming... I haven't had that happen to me yet, even! :-O
Going live in a half hour with 2v2s with the gorgeous Livinpink, and maybe some 1v1 practice at some point to get my NA account up to par with my Gold EU account!
Look I didn't come here to criticize, but I watched your show yesterday for the first time and couldn't stand that you didn't get shields in all of those games. You really have to get shields, it makes me cringe watching big armies with no shields.
The premise of your stream is pretty fun, and the execution of it is pretty thorough. Interesting to see if this works out for you, but it seems you have very few viewers so far? EDIT: Haha googled your name, that was awkward
A few more years and SCII will be the same shit as all the other sports where whores tries to hook up and get themselves into the business without having any interest for the sport itself. You parasites disgust me and I hope some day respect will be given to those who deserve it rather than to those who cry for it the loudest. I doubt it though.
Her assets are not natural, neither is the hair color, but that doesn't make her a bad person. Starcraft and gaming in general is bigger than it was before. Not everyone in the community produces content for everyone in the community. I personally like this diversification as it is necessary if gaming and Starcraft ever wants to be mainstream entertainment.
I am amazed about the bandwidth. Regarding manner we have every degree from Sheth to Destiny. Regarding skill he have every level from korean pro to bronze nub.
The only real issue I have with Tara's stream is that she doesn't play zerg.
I don't get it, isn't a supermodel someone like Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum or Cindy Crawford? Then wouldn't you be just a model? I mean, what makes a supermodel? I have the feeling this have been asked before here...

250 live viewers in 2 months of just-becoming-consistent streaming is not bad. Especially considering I am just getting my foot in the door of the community, and I am a Silver/Gold level player.
My first stream had 250 as well while I played WoW, and my unique views to followers ratio is pretty awesome as well. I am also not partnered.
I am pretty pleased with how I am doing as far as progression of my stream and the viewership so far! /proudofmyself

Nope, no one asked.
If you wanna get technical, I am a successful Glamour model, who is not eligible for the old-school definition of "Supermodel". Yes, technically Supermodels must be high fashion models. Many in the industry would call it "Glamour Supermodel".
With that said, I use that word to sound blatantly silly, and to attract viewers. I like to make fun of myself and show that I don't take shit too seriously. I also use that word for the stream because someone very important to me in the eSports world would always call me that, and I thought it was cute.

I take team games with a seriousness level of "0". It's like playing drunk StarCraft, really.
In my 1v1 practice I often get combat shields up first because, in my league, I feel 90% of players go for early aggression, and it helps more than Stim. Of course, I also scout and do a lot of important things better than I do in team games, also.
I'll try remember the CS more, but I don't think that you should be watching my team game streams solely for in depth analysis of gameplay, or really, any kind of super skill.
She does the bomber style TvP build, which requires Combat Shields at 9 minutes or so every time, after Stim is done. In team games, i build a hatch next to my hatch first thing, something i don't think i'd try in a 1v1.
I was all pissy at first because I thought "hurr durr she's a whore blahblah" but I watched her stream for a little while and she's definitely trying to learn/improve (except maybe team shit? I didn't watch that). I'm not sure if I should give the vaunted Corpuscle Seal of Official Approval but I was definitely impressed with Tara's work ethic.
I am in love with you. I have your stream open non-stop just to have a feeling to be close to the woman I deeply love. And when you do come online it's like butterflies are flying through your screen over the internet highway and right in my stomach.
I hope you continue streaming and when you are in Holland. Maybe we can go on a date?

Bro getting shields isn't deep gameplay analysis. I don't watch platinum or diamond players team gaming so I don't know if they don't get shields or not, but if I did and I noticed they didn't get shields in the two or three games I see of them where money or hard effort is not concerned, I would tell them.

I put this edit in here in case you assume I'm trying to criticize you harshly. I actually enjoyed watching the two or three games I saw you play before I turned it off so don't come at me or anything. You and your partner have great chemistry. It was when you walled in the back of your base I think when I decided to watch it a little longer until a tourney stream came on.
I stumbled onto your stream randomly and found myself to be shocked and speechless. It would be awesome if you trained hard enough to compete at an MLG. Get to the masters level! Bewbs.

I like the stream, fun when not wanting to watch super serious Starcraft. Though as East Coast it sucks that she starts at 12 but I don't go to work early, so not that big a deal.
Also, GG Tara. Wanted to play you so I stream sniped(no cheating though <3),
I've watched your streams just to prove your point that you're committed to Starcraft 2 & eSports. Despite what naysayers say about you, Tara, I see you as one of the key people in the eSports community.

Wow, thank you so much! Thanks to everyone for watching tonight! Getting up to 720+ viewers is a dream! Now I just have to be worthy of it and get really, really good at this damn game! ^^
I hope you all continue to tune in on my road to SC2 betterment and silly stories and Q&A! Let's finally get me partnered, and that casting job I want so bad!

Also, agreed. I think SC2 is great for eSports, and is a refreshing update to BW. Do I think BW should fade out completely? Of course not, but I get why SC2 is, in most cases, more popular.

I'm working on some kind of eSports-centered job while I practice my game and my casting. Would LOVE to host something, or even just work behind the scenes. I've already inquired at Dreamhack and a few others!
Why so much makeup lol, dunno why girls make themselves look like bimbos. But I guess I shouldn't be commenting on the looks, since it's a matter of taste, style and whatever - you certainly seem to be actually enjoying this(gaming, streaming etc) and didn't get into it just to dry some horny nerds' pockets. ;D
Good luck then, I guess I'll come by someday to check it out.

Now I am not saying Tara isn't talented but Anna and Rachel both have good skillsets as well. Anna has insanely good interviewing skills and has a lot of stage and community experience.

This is without a doubt the funniest post I've seen in a while.
hmm, stream is really well produced, gameplay getting better and chat interaction really nice stream! one thing that could be better is getting a stand alone mic instead of using the one on the headset but apart from that the stream itself is almost perfect.
on the gameplay i have to say that it's a lot more straight up macro than i thought it would be, i'll give you some feedback on what i see from your play as someone who watches a lot of terran games and have been masters with terran for a little bit (now protoss) if you're not looking for feedback on your gameplay feel free to ignore the rest of this post
in your TvZ i really like that you're going mech but i'd strongly recomend trying out mvp style of mech play, its not easy to master but once you got it down at a decent level you will crush zergs 1 or maybe even 2 leagues higher than you. you can just go watch some of mvps vods either at gsl, IEM or any tournement in the last month he played since he used it a lot vs zerg.
in TvT i feel like you could use drops a lot more (especialy going marine tank) its very hard for terran to defend drops without turrets all around your bases especialy going mech or any tank heavy style so you force them to make a lot of turrets instead of army or bases.
in TvP i think you could mix in more marrauders for a stronger timing push with medivac vs stalker and colossus heavy players as well as the concusive shell vs zealots.
sorry for my english if it has some flaws i hope this could be helpful to you in improving your play! if you ever want to practise TvP i can help you with that, high plat EU protoss at the moment

Thanks a lot for the advice!
I will definitely check out that MVP TvZ build. I am finally getting mech down a little bit, but for some reason it's been much harder to make fluid than the other build orders I've learned. It just feels clunky and removing the barracks from my main production spam is so foreign! T.T
My timing push for TvP was an optimized build I found through Bomber, I am supposed to have the 4 Marauders at 11m, but I always end up having 2 at like 11:40, haha! I agree, gotta work on perfecting that, as well!

Not to be rude, I enjoy following your stream. But you come off as a bit fake when it comes to Starcraft 2....you state you are trying to become a caster, but you don't play sc2 much, I mean you only play on sundays for viewers or sneak attack streams.
I don't see how you can become a sc2 caster while being low gold, but I hope you get your goals. Just seems like you don't do play much sc2 to be involved in Esports, unless it has to do with modeling or something.

I stream SC2 3-5 times a week, and then I play at least 5-30 games a day privately when I can. I go to monthly SC2 tournaments locally, and I just got home from MLG Dallas. I am working on my casting and my SC2 play simultaneously so that they can grow together. I watch all the major tournaments, and I write articles on events, record video, and much more. On top of that, I also have an EU account.
I rarely play with viewers, and I NEVER play team games. I don't know where you got your knowledge... NOTHING I have done in eSports has to do with modeling.
There really is little more I can add to my plate in terms of eSports with a full-time modeling career...
Hi, i just came across this thread. Wow-wow-we-wahhh you really like pink . I just watched a few minutes from one of your vods. You seem pretty into gaming which is great. Don't know how some have gotten a different impression.
If i could make a request, i know you want to get better and that's great, you should, we all should, but it would be super fun if you would do more crazy/risky/cheesy play and just have fun on stream.
At the moment i watch the few streams regularly watch fall into 3 categories, they are either very very high level, or they talk while they play explaining their choices or just they are entertaining.
At the moment i feel there isn't enough entertaining streamers out there and i know people want to see them, one of the things that makes people entertaining is doing crazy shit along with having a personality (which you obviously have).

So in a nutshell, go crazy, have fun.
Look forward to the games.
Thanks a bunch!
In regards to doing crazy shit: I'd love to sometimes stray from the norm and do weird and fun things, like cheese, or play through games like Amnesia, but I am playing StarCraft because I want to be better, and become a caster, not just for entertainment value. All of those people who are not being watched because they are a high level needed to start somewhere, and that is what I am doing. In fact, I think it would be LESS interesting and more stereotypical if someone who looked like me just fucked around and did stupid shit, rather than actually trying to improve. So, by taking this seriously while having fun at the same time, I think I am actually doing the most interesting thing to the public, as there are very few girls with personalities, or girls in general, that are improving or trying to improve in SC2.
This is something even some of our model beloved female eSports personalities can't say they are doing.
Thanks for the ideas, like I said, I always love to have fun viewer days, or try new things as well!
Tara is this true??? Seems like you been lying alot and people catching on.....Please if you really are into Esports, be real not fake, we don't need more fake people in Esport community http://www.imfamous.com/tara-babcock/ hope that crap is not true.
But more research I do about you, the more fake and lies seem to be true.

Wow tara, your stream is getting more and more popular ^^, great so see . I don't tune in as much as I should just cuz I can't seem to find the time to watch enough streams, but I have heard great things, keep it up. Tara hwaiting~~~.

Even if all of those accusations are true, and i doubt it, isn't everyone allowed to have a hobby? Even escorts, not that i think she is, should be allowed to spend some time doing what they enjoy, and sometimes you just want to share something with other people who love the same thing.
Does she even stream anymore? she does not really play sc2 as much as she claims in her streams, I just don't like liers, nothing wrong with having a hobby just don't lie to the esport community and everything is a o ok.

Anyone who believes something they read on a slander website is an idiot. Don't be an idiot. I trust most of you will not be as well.

Thanks!
Things have been great! I just got back from MLG Dallas, was really sick, then yesterday was my birthday!
Regular streaming will return this week! Tune in if you have some time, it should be fun!
By the way, guys, thanks for helping me make #40 in the top 50 streamers by hours x average viewers list for October! Let's pump it up for November and December! More hours, more viewers!
If I can improve while still having to take the weeks off this month for modeling and MLG/IPL, that'd rock!

I just found out her roommate "Jecho" plays her games for her, Tara profile shows her only playing 2v2,
While her roommate plays her account to keep her high gold so she can pretend on her stream.....she does not even play starcraft 2, which is why I assume she stopped streaming and started to stream random games, It's sad when a person like Tara puts out all these lies and people finally catch on, Why lie in the first place? For money? views? Very disappointed.
Next time try to cover up your roommate playing for you, just like when Angel played for whats her name...

This person is insane. They made fake SC2 accounts and Twitter accounts just to slander me.
Just in case someone might believe this trash, I have played a total of 3 2v2 games in the last 6 months (excluding the streams I did with Livinpink 3-4 times)
I stopped streaming? I streamed 4 days in a row this week, and only one was a KoA playthough day for fun because viewers have been asking me to play other games. I currently am forcing myself to play 10+ games a day and do longer streams to improve. My absence was due to travels to MLG, and sickness/my birthday, as it will be next week for IPL.
Also, I do not have anyone else play my account. Come see for yourself! Things like my on-stream wins against P and Z, my dedication, knowledge of the game while playing, my 80+ EPM, and more should speak clearly to you that I would never have someone else boost my account.
If anyone knows who to contact when I am being harassed on TL, please post or PM me, thanks!
Oh, and just a last thought... if I had someone boost my account, I'd definitely have them do it to Platinum! Haha! I've been Gold long enough, and I beat my fair share of Gold players! C'mon MMR!

Made this! I think it's hilarious, but I can't take all the credit, for it 'twas my roommate's idea.
Just a reminder, I will be out of town for IPL/GSL finals next week, so I am going to try to get in a ton of streaming this weekend! Currently letting my eyes rest (those of you who watched the last 2 broadcasts know what I am referring to) and practicing my TvT hard!
I think I've finally optimized my build for one-base banshee pressure or a large tank push, now all I have to do is practice not getting tilted with harass, multi-tasking, and late game tank positioning and micro! PLATINUM HERE I COME!
Hope to see you in chat on stream! Playing and streaming more than ever, I really wanna get to Plat and beyond!
I don't like the way you "sell" yourself, but the amount of haters you get is amusing. Keep it up Tara, and hopefully someday you'll be famous for skills instead of... things.

Her body is her career. So plz, spare everyone with your melodramatic "we cant be taken seriously as a community" crap.

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the support since I have started streaming! I am now almost to 10k followers on TwitchTV, and when I do finally get there I'll be doing a 24 hour überstream!
Let me know what you would like to see, I will be playing StarCraft and LoL as usual, but I'd also like to play some unusual games... perhaps some console games, retro games, handheld games, etc.! If you've got an idea, post it here or PM me! Also thinking of inviting some cool guests!
I look forward to streaming more for you guys, and also doing some fun giveaways in the future, too!
Oh... and I am so close to Platinum it hurts! I remember when I started I was pretty much Bronze! Moving up!
OK! SO I think I have figured out a semi-decent stream schedule:
Sundays at Midnight are Retro Days, and the rest of the streams are random (because of my busy schedule) and I will practice StarCraft II HoTS with some League of Legends games afterwards!
That way, I get to play all of my favorites, while still focusing on learning StarCraft!
Here is an example of my retro streams:
ps. Still working on the 24-hour stream, be patient!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed it! I plan on there being plenty more where that came from! I am ADORING playing the retro games. It gives me something else to play that is low maintenance when I am not laddering!
Also, the nostalgia is euphoric! Some of these games I was too young to have actually completed. It's amazing! I might start a check list of all of the ROMs I have and which ones I have beaten on stream.
So I finally decided to check your Vod after seeing your other videos like the unboxing etc. At the beginning, I thought you were a model doing this just to get more audience. But after watching the Vod, I completely changed my opinion.
I am actually quite impressed by the amount of effort you put into the game, you surely showed that you have invested a significant amount of time and effort. Your basic knowledge and mechanics are there, it just lacks the polishing for now. Don't be put off by your low league, I actually think you can get to gold soon as long as you keep improving the fundermentals AND scouting AND map control
and the one thing that really tells me you are into the game, is how stressed you look when you are playing. That tension is how I know you are really focused into the game

You have earned yourself a new fan :D
Wow, thank you so much! That means a lot!
StarCraft definitely does push my boundaries and stress me, but that's what makes it amazing! Improving and winning is the best!
I could see Tara hosting MLG. An actually gamer girl would be a nice change from the awkward questions and demeanor of the current hostess'
Good luck!
I know it's a noob question, but... who is the current MLG hostess?
Anna was the last one.
Yup, and she is terrible. Cronyism at its finest.
You really should get your agent to make a play for the hostess position. I know nothing about this business and how that would work but I'd much rather you have the job then her. Regardless of who is better looking, you actually kind of know what you talk about.

Sometimes I just don't get TL justice. I went to report this post here, where ELYSiUMlol refers to you as a "moderately attractive slutty girl".
On May 24 2012 05:12 ELYSiUMlol wrote: Why am I in no way surprised that there's a seemingly endless flow of females whoring themselves out for attention by acting like nerds?
Turns out it'd already been reported, and nothing's been done about it, even though he was already warned just a couple posts earlier for this post here:

in other news, i've caught this stream when it's on a few times, and i've actually enjoyed it quite a bit. i normally don't like watching terran streamers, but it's fun to watch her try. she seems to be getting pretty good as well, fundamental macro skills been picking up, making progress. I gave her a chance, she's a nice girl who puts in effort to be good and entertaining as well. so i've only got good things to say i guess.
well, ive given tara a few tries but i honestly havent been that impressed yet. i would definitely say she is a step up from a lot of so called "gamer girls" but honestly thats not saying much. there's a reason that guys don't get stream views by showing off their body, and until i see a major shift from looks to skills/knowledge then i'm probably not going to get super excited.
that being said, i dont think tara should stop. i just think there's a lot of room for improvement.

Turns out it'd already been reported, and nothing's been done about it, even though he was already warned just a couple posts earlier for this post here:

Not entirely shocking that a bunch of beta males on the internet shit themselves as soon as a moderately attractive slutty girl starts streaming SC2 at a low level. If you weren't a female, literally no one would care and probably ignore this. And then your friend gets temp banned when he wasn't flaming or attacking anyone.
Edit: I'm no lawyer, but I'm thinking you could probably take out a lawsuit against that guy for slander. If he's deliberately trying to soil your good name (and he's really trying hard to, I mean he's making fake accounts on BNet for crying out loud), I'm 99% sure that that is illegal and that unless he can provide evidence to back up his claims he could be sued for slander. You may want to look into that.
he got banned simply because he made a 2 word post, one of which saying he reported the person he was replying to.
that's a big nono, you just report and move on, making a post telling them you have reported them without contributing anything of substance to the thread is just going to get you in trouble as well.
in other news, i've caught this stream when it's on a few times, and i've actually enjoyed it quite a bit. i normally don't like watching terran streamers, but it's fun to watch her try. she seems to be getting pretty good as well, fundamental macro skills been picking up, making progress. I gave her a chance, she's a nice girl who puts in effort to be good and entertaining as well. so i've only got good things to say i guess.
Okay, I guess that makes sense. It still bugs me that the post that was reported didn't get moderated, though. I mean, making accusations like that without evidence is a very serious thing to do.
Yeah, people go as far as to try and slander me constantly, or say the worst stuff about me. Not much you can do other than ignore it, and laugh it off. Can't sue the whole world. >.<
Thanks for the support and for reporting jerks, though.

Wrong. Reported.

Wow... Banned my friend for sticking up for me against this slanderer! T.T
Sometimes I just don't get TL justice. I went to report this post here, where ELYSiUMlol refers to you as a "moderately attractive slutty girl".

Aww, thanks! I'm glad you enjoy the stream. I do put a lot of effort into entertainment, and improving my gameplay. That, and I have probably the best production quality. Professional overlays, lots of color and personality, and of course 1080p.
I don't really understand people who just type something, add a donation button and put no work or interaction into it. Even if I was #1 GM on KR I would still focus on that stuff too to show I give a shit about it and the viewers' viewing experience. It's a respect thing!

But hey its nothing wrong with that its a fun stream and i like that she is kind of self ironic with her faq
Nah, I'm more pissed that they get views just because of their skill with no viewer interaction, production quality or entertainment value.
Let me finish that sentence for you, also:

Yea i agree its basically the same with guys like idra, incontrol or rotterdam they are not really professional gamer but the streams are better because of the interaction.
The weirdest thing by far is the german stuff/sc2 client. I do not know any german who uses the german client because the translation and the voice acting are just crap compared the english version.

Oh god, let's not go there. I was trying to keep this fun and light. Heh. O.O
Haha, that's how you can tell I'm not German. I don't mind the poor translations, nor do I know the language well enough to tell. I just like listening to it more. I'm a weird German fangirl. ^^
All you German people should stop being so elitist about your translations and switch to the German language pack because your language sounds do much cooler than English.
The problem with the translation is not that its wrong it just translates to much in my opionion. Even the mapnames are translated, they maked "Cloud Kingdom" into "Königreich der Wolken" which may be a correct translation but sounds just bad.
Its not only in gaming, in Game of Thrones they translated Kings Landing..... urgs.

Hier ist der Thor. Nicht genug Mineralien!
While I use he english client, I think the German translation and voice acting is good compared to other games.

in some points you are right. Germans are very elitist about their language but this has many reasons way to complicated to explain. But in short.... german isn´t about how it sounds or how melodic stuff is.... german is more about meaning and precision so if you read "Arachnomine" (widowmine) it sounds weird and wrong and its a normal german habit to have a problem with wrong words even if they sound kind of cool for foreign ears.
on the other hand the german voice package is really cool. especially scv´s (they speak a Berlin Accent) and the thor (Arnold Schwarzenegger Style) voice.
I was so confused when i was switching from Demus channel into your channel. Where is the german comming from ..did i forgot to close my SC2-Client.. WTF!!!
Do you ever get free coaching from any pros? I'm sure many would be willing, and it would be cool to see that streamed, if you haven't done that before.
