Illusion was not terribly BM or in the wrong for wanting to play Z vs avilo. He actually thought he had a better chance to win ZvT and was just playing to win the tournament. This isn't bad sportsmanship or anything, this is playing to win. avilo might have seen it differently but at the end of the day Illusion is playing to win as anyone who goes to a LAN should be. I've always allowed race picking in my tournaments. if you don't want a guy offracing vs you next time- don't lose to his offrace, it's pretty much as simple as that. To spin it as Illusion acting irresponsibly is just untrue. Irresponsible action is not listening to the caster if they ask you to hold up matches. Illusion and avilo started game 1 of the winners finals while Nanman was casting a losers bracket match. Nan had asked them to hold their game 2- but I didn't find out about that until after avilo had already asked me if they could continue with game 2. I said it was fine if both players were good with it. Then I read chat in the channel and saw Nan had asked them to wait and Illusion actually also wanted to wait...I understand it's frustrating and losing sucks- but seriously, if the caster asks you to hold matches HOLD matches unless there's a good reason not to. Nan drives in from a pretty far distance to come cover an event, I can't have people ignoring him unless it's for good reason. I had to babysit the rest of the matches for the rest of the night because of this and watch the channel chat closely...I have enough shit to worry about during a LAN as it is. And even after I was babysitting the match avilo just forfeit the winners final match so none of the winners bracket finals got casted today....that shouldn't happen. -_-; | ||

Ofc, Illusion thought he had a better chance to win ZvT and ofc he was "just playing to win the tournament." That is after all what it's about. I, for one, see nothing wrong with Illusion changing races. You've done it plenty of times in the DC LANs v avilo and so have many others and avilo just laughs about it and wins.This incident was much different. Do you know what Illusion said to avilo prior to the match up? Did avilo actually see a request to HOLD the match or are you just assuming that he did? Was there a response from avilo to Nanman saying that he refused to honor Nanman's request? And if Illusion wanted to "wait" why didn't he? It's pretty hard to play a 1v1 with only one player. I'm just curious, did avilo hold a gun to Illusion's head? Is it against rules to forfeit a match? As far as Nanman is concerned, he does not have an easy task (nor do you, for that matter) The set up at Monster for a caster is less than desirable, but Nanman does a great job despite the distracting background noises and smoke-filled room. Everyone responsible for coordinating the DC LANs does a great job. It's nice to have a small tournament like this in the area and I'm sure it's appreciated by all. | ||

Yes, he was temp banned for EXACTLY the same thing that Artosis said in the WCS last night. I just laughed out loud. Hmmmm...Wonder if WCS will ban artosis for his "whining" about protoss.
