Hey Ladies and Gentlemen,
first of all: please excuse my bad english and before my text starts if have to say. That this site really rocks. I spend so much time here, browsing everything, just readin you guys in the forums and watch the gosu Livecasts and VODs - place of heaven.
I got a beta Key a while ago and started playing the game. Since i am a bw/sc oldschooler (i play and watch the scene since '98/99) i thought that it is MY time to give something back to the community. My Heros in this particular case were Day[9] - <3 u sooo much, HDStarcraft and Husky who really really do an amazing job for all of us. So i started a Youtube Channel, especially for the german guys, because there are not very much german casts - and even fewer in full HD Quality. This all happened a month ago. And now i just wanted to let you know as well. Maybe there are some People interested in this Channel/livestream. Maybe so Staff Guys from Tournaments read this, that i can make some Coverage for the german audience from Pro US Tournaments as well. In the last 4 weeks already a small community started to built, and for german circumstances it is not that small :p - i get a lot of good feedback and hope to find some guys who like it, watch it, support it or invite me to tournamtes to cover them in my "German Hamburg Slang" :D
So i hope you dont see this as a stupid advertisement, because this is not my intention. I just want to give something back for the last 12 years of Starcraft. Even some Blizzard employees gave me their (positive) feedback. And if you see my channel and the 76 casted games all in full HD you see, this is hard work =D

I know him.
He indeed is a pretty good caster and knows what he's talking about and I would aswell appreciate if I can get hands on good german casts from US-Tournaments 'n stuff. It wouldn't give me a hard time listening to english casts though.

good to have someone deliver to the german community - even if i hate the abbreviations and acronyms in the german scene.
in fantasy and scifi, this language always makes the "hellforged hammer of total domination" sound like "gummibear pogo stick" to me.
but hey, good for the community, good for the game, good for us all.

mh I just watched that Flash vs Kenshin game.
First of all there's about a 0.000000000000000000000001% chance that that's the real flash.
Secondly Harald Juhnke is dead, so I dont think he's gonna sue you.
Other than that you have a very good commentating voice and are ...good at talking as silly as that sounds, but from someones who's apparently played sc for 12 years it was sad to see that there was absolutely 0 strategical analysis and basically nothing but play by play.
For me personally you have just a little bit too much energy but that's subjective and others might like you for that. Overall I definitely like you better than the current ESL sc2 commentators.
oh and sick game btw., flash style TvP ftw.

i like your commentary and i find it awesome that you made it to TL casts.
i would just have one wish for your commentary : focus on overall game analysis and not that much on commenting single happenings. i know its funny and especially in german you are doing a great job but i think with a bit of a focus change more on strategy and tactics commentary your work would be greatly improved.
regradless of that i will watch all your stuff since you are one of the best german commentaries online atm

du kannst total toll kommentieren wenn nen zealot gegen zwei zerglings kämpft und jeden special move einzeln aber zu der tactic 10 gate oder 4 gate push kommt nichts und das finde ich ein wenig schade.
die deutsche community schaut so extrem viel englishe caster das es schade ist das einer von den guten die eine gute stimme und verständlichkeit und humor haben sich nicht so sehr um taktik und strategie kümmert. wenn du das ändern könntest würde es deine casts auf eine ebene mit husky und HD heben und ein gutes stück in richtung day9.
ich wünsche dir alles gute bei weiteren casten.

I recently contacted him - and he will take a close look at the upcoming invitational. So i hope that he will be on board So i keep working on that.
Concerning the "lack of tacticts" you are defently right. I have to work on that issue. But i will do my best to get rid of that problem. Maybe the Tacticspecial on youtube will be the first step in that direction. So please keep a critical eye on my cast as well as an entertaining

i recently watched the youtube video of your cast from the jinro vs spux game ( g113) and i have to say that i somehow feel like you have improved a bit in this cast if it comes to explaination and stuff or just mentioning. when you explained what unit counters what unit in jinro's and spux' army that was reaaaally great imho. clean explainations like this a little from normal trash talk and you are on a really good way imho

great that you noticed it. I reallys try to improve. So this is a good feedback to see where i am at right now. Tonight will be the CraftCup EU from 19:00 CET and tomorrow i will livestream for 14 Hours! First ESL - GO4SC2 from 14:00 CET and then the CraftCup US starting at 21:00 CET

i would love to critize your commentaries in a constructive way further on so keep improving, i think a lot of german players are really looking forward to your casts because it still is a difference if you hear something in english or in your mother tongue especially if the level is high and it would be awesome to have a good german commentary.

just show a bit more of the huge knowledge you can pull out of your ass like in the jinro vs spux match. its just awesome.

I wish some German would explain how this guy got so popular. Or anybody who knows. Is he really funny? Is he a German hidden gosu? Or are Germans just dying for esports coverage and he's their fix. I think it's great that he's getting so many viewers!

No idea. People at the biggest german Esport site are also discussing why he has so many viewers.
His game knowledge is at best decent. But I heard he has a big fanbase since Beta. So maybe he is a caster for the non esport players? I dont know.

I think a reason is, that there is a lack of german casters with knowledge and and regular casts.
Homer J basicly casts everything, thats not hosted by ESL. I am not the biggest fan of his casts too and i know a lot of people who are not either, but watching his casts because of no german (or often english) alternative.

10500 viewers on a german cast on a thursday morning at 0:30 in germany .. is .. quite the achievement.
Homer provides plenty of stuff for the casual player that simply wants to have fun, seasoned with a big community-aspect. Knowledge-wise he might not be the german equivalent to Day9 (well, who is?), and although some/many dislike him and prefer other german casters, he compensates with casting which is deemed as funny and/or even crazy to most people, thus gathering an insane userbase, bringing esports even to people who had no idea what SC2 is until they saw Homer.
Additionally, he is in good standing with a lot of well-known players, so there will always be some good stuff coming around (he is live on Skype with Dimaga as I am typing this).

HomerJ casts are simply good. If you want to cast starcraft for many people (10000+) there is no need to go deeply in tactics. Most people want to see an epic cast event. Commentators have to scream and you have to feel the tension. Look at commentators in other sports.
Further HomerJ isn't so nerdy like other commentators.

He's a terrible caster. He's not funny. He has not a very deep knowledge of the game at all. He's nowhere near of the level of Day9. If people say HDStarcraft or Husky are annoying... he's worse, way worse.
He's so popular in Germany because he's German speaking and there is basically nobody else casting on a regulary basis other than him.

That isn't true, There are some german caster, who casting many events and games.
I think, his best quality is his personality and his engagement for the e-sport.
He wants to make more popular e-sport and he wants that people, who don't or not often play SC2, also enjoy the games.
The number in spectators is not only for him, but also for the e-sport a gigantic success.

Well, if you don't understand it, how can you judge if it is bad or not? Some people get turned off by bad casts. I for one can't watch HD anymore ("there is no counter to this mass raven build!"). While this is certainly personal preference, saying that homerj has little understanding of the game is rather objective.

@topic: assetpoints of this stream are really the variety of tournaments which are casted and the awesome, unique quality of the stream, but seriously guys... homerj is really lacking on casting skills... like someone allready said, he's allways to late at fights, is missing drops, mixing up builds etc. ... if you are really interested in a high level casting german stream, just watch Take... he is well informed, fast and was a very top tier player on his own (at least @ wc3)

Love the quality of the stream, it's simply amazing. I do not understand everything,but I enjoy commentated games, even in German, and I believe HomerJ to be quite cappable of doing so.
In short, Good stream, brave of you to comment in a non-english language keep up the good work.!

I mean, I was just watching Goody vs Nerchio and it was like a tense back and forth battle for Goody to take Nerchio's third, and HomerJ hardly reacted. Nerchio at one point accidently moved his roaches into the tanks and HomerJ just said "ouch" and not even an "OUCH".

Also little things, like clicking on a scouting drone that propably killed an SCV to see if it got any kills.

Oh man just watching the Call4Kings by PokerStrategy and I am so frustrated right now. This guy haven't got the multitasking to cast games -.- I am so annoyed that he missed 80% of Drops and Actions.

Principally I really do like the casts of HomerJ. He's a really nice guy and I'm watching his live casts and vods on youtube for month.
The only thing I don't like is the active advertisement for pokerstrategy.com at the 4kings tournament. Homer please be aware that quite a lot of your viewers are under 18 and please do not actively encourage people to visit pages like this. All of us know that the only issue of this page is to force users to play online poker.
I really really know how hard it is to finance the whole project and i appreciate your casts, but I don't think that sort of sponsorship is worth it on the long run :/
