Still Croatia did jack shit. Well the way I see it , you have to be willing to handle some counters and take some chances over 90 minutes. If you are going to wait till 115 to start gambling, that is extremely naive and way riskier.

Modric, Rakitic, Perisic and Mandzukic looked harmless the whole game. That signals great execution from our defense and midfield.

And just because they scored the goal you think they had some master plan lol. Game could have gone either way.

Croatia beat Spain with a B team and was the most impressive team in the group stage Here for some reason with their full A team they're anemic and play worse than Northen Ireland, then wake up five minutes before the end, and just at the moment it becomes critical not to make defensive mistakes on counterattacks, they make two mistakes in the same action

But Portugal never intended to attack. They were fine going to penalties and wait for a counter attack. Portugal at no point in that game gambled. So no they didn do the same lol.. I didnt say it was a master plan, it was just a plan, the same plan Norther Ireland used, the same Plan Wales used against England, the same plan most teams that dont trust themselves against superior attacking teams tend to use.

If you aren't going to do shit for 115 minutes don't start doing it when penalties are imminent. If you don't want penalties, then attack from the start ugh. Really disliked Portugal's approach too. They could have so easily lost this one on a free kick or on the shootouts they wanted.

Spain offered space, Spain attacks. Spain doesnt man mark 3 players out of the game and hope the dont lose to the rest of the 11. Portugal did. They were fine if it went to Pens, and if they get a counter attack that was there moment. It is also as I mentioned why Croatia were so toothless in attack. They were not putting enough numbers forward because they were worried about the exact same thing. The issue is if you do this then taking a risk in extra time is a bad idea because you leave yourself no comeback potential if you do get hit on the counter.
