They've had a lot of flashes of brilliance, but there have also been extensive periods of time where they haven't looked good. As for Germany, Khedira has been awful this entire tournament and Germany's midfield has only gotten better when Schweinsteiger has been subbed in, so losing Khedira isn't that bad. Germany easily has the best midfield in the world, so the idea that France's midfield will dominate is utterly ridiculous. We don't even know if Gomez is actually injured enough to miss the semis, and France's back 4 is just as questionable as Germany's. Hummels is a big loss, but Mustafi and Höwedes are both quality CB's that can fill in as well. Furthermore, if France is able to control the game more as you suggest, it only plays into Germany's hands; playing with Götze up front becomes a better proposition when Germany has the ball less. It opens up space and allows for faster play. Götze is terrible when Germany has 65% possession and the team has to try to slowly break down a defense, not when they are playing a fast-moving, open-style play. Now, this all assumes that France beats Iceland, and that is absolutely no guarantee; like I said, there have been a lot of questions around France for the tournament, and Iceland has looked incredibly good, even if people constantly underestimate them. We'll have to wait for the game today to find out. How can you say that there have been a lot of questions over France? They won all their games comfortably. Even when Evra and Pogba decided to go stupid and gift the opposition a penalty.

Would be a tragedy to see Portugal winning in the finals after so many disappointing games, meh. Iceland for the new Greece of Euro.

Romania, Switzerland, Albania, Ireland, now Iceland... France goes for counter, and the other team parks the bus. That will be exciting. At least send some guy for the kickoff, otherwise the ball will remain there unmoved for the next 45 minutes because nobody leaves his half...

Kicker says Khedira won't be able to play in the semifinal. Also Schweinsteiger not 100% fit either. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/nationalelf/655186/artikel_khedira-faellt-im-em-halbfinale-aus.html Seems very likely that Can or Weigl will start. I'd favor Can, he's more similiar in playstyle. Weigl seems to be more of a potential replacement for Kroos. But of course that depends a lot on what strategy Löw chooses and if Schweinsteiger will have recovered completely by thursday

You have to use both hands with the same power but Iceland fullback did not do so. They used their right hand more than the left one but this can be seen only in slow motion.

If we'd go to the nitty gritty, i bet more than just the Iceland players throw against the rules then.
