Have you loooked at their results since their world cup win in 206? From what I heard, that 4-0 final in 2012 was taken to be an insult to their national football identity. Also out twice in groupstages at world cup.

Rather play it back than losing it, defensively very solid. Hardly any goal scoring chances. Towards the end both teams physically done.

However itt was two quality sides mostly neutralizing each other, not two clueless sides struggling with ineptitude.

Unfortunately that led to very little goal scoring opportunities but it was tense. But it still was a good match. Also the most hilarious penalty series ever seen.

First half Italy was more dangerous, though, and Germany managed to do almost nothing noticeable. Second half Germany scored, not much later Italy got a penalty and scored as well. For a few minutes after that penalty Italy played better. Overtime was boring, in general not a lot of chances. Penalty shootout was very nice. Both teams kinda sucked, but it was soo exciting. Zaza penalty, which people make fun of btw: https://streamable.com/f6im. He got subbed in specially for the penalty shootout btw. ![]()

If a player plays poorly and can't score then it's just normal and logical. Well Müller hit the woodwork 2 times against Northern Ireland and his shot today was saved by an incredible reflex of the defender, I guess you can call it bad luck even though it's not his best tournament ever ![]()
