lol MC is so awesome...for all the haters, don't you think it's much more colorful and really adds to the "stories" of players when they do boss interviews like this? frankly im tired of all the "i will try my best/i tried my best for the fans" kind of stuff as that to me goes without saying. characters like MC/idra will inspire a lot of hate/love, but most of all they create more interest in the scene and gives you awesome stories, and that's important for the expansion of esports

@Thorzain - In WC3 we had LAN, which allowed international matches to play on third party LAN simulators to reduce the lag and delay i.e GGC (Garena) etc.

Do you realise that it doesnt really matter what the game thinks what network he is working with, if you play online (lansimulator or bnet or whatever), you will get lag. LAN may be even worse here as you dont expect huge lags on 100Mbit+, so you wont be prepared for it.

LAN simulators don't have to go through battle.net, which reduces a large amount of lag and delay, instead it uses the net speed of the host, so if you have a host with very fast and stable internet, the conditions are pretty much perfect. There's a reason why professional online WC3 matches were never played on Bnet once LAN sims came out.

If you've followed more things MC-related than just his interviews, you'd know that the arrogance he projects from his interviews is pretty artificial, done for the sake of helping him deal with nerves and also for the sake of show. When he loses, he takes it in stride and admits that he needs to practice more, rather than making excuses for himself, and he gives good players credit when it's due. If he was that full of himself in person, I doubt he'd be such good friends with Jinro and Huk, or anyone for that matter - it'd be pretty tiring being friends with someone like that.

lol i would get tired of it if he was losing. but since he wins he can talk all the shit he wants

Nonsense.

Winning gives you the right to say WHAT YOU WANT? Pffff ...

There are many champions who have achieved things 1000 times larger than MC and yet not open his mouth to say stupid things. They respect their opponents and you'll never hear them say "I will win because I'm the best " or "I have no rivals" ...

If you want to be a winner in every way, you have to be BOTH athletically and personally.

I know that many people consider his words as a joke, but honestly, it becomes tedious.

mc gonna win hundreds of thousands of dollars from tournaments.

Every tournament MC is in there are a couple haters going "can't wait for ___ to stomp him", then MC wins.

I really dont know which player I prefer to face. Probably NaDa, because he is a big star from BW. I remember his mass tank siege style. I think I have more chance to win agains Kas because I know his style, and can work easier from his replays, because replays of Koreans players are hard to find.

I find that a very interesting point, everyone - even the Koreans themselves - says that the Koreans have some sort of information disadvantage or something since the Koreans are more exposed on an international stage and usually "don't know anything" about their foreign opponents.
But actually it's especially European players who play all those small online tournaments and cups and have replays of them ALL OVER the place while the koreans only play in GSL and maaaayyybe the FXO open tournaments.

That makes no fuckin sense. Its only logical that players who play on the biggest stage will also get their games exposed to a much bigger audience. Not to mention professional commentators analyzing their matches and fanboys rushing to copy them. Also you would be mistaken to think that Korean pros would even bother watching replays of small foreigner tournaments filled with garbage players that would have zero benefit to them in the GSL.

i'm not saying that thr koreans arent the most famous... Of course they are, so far gsl is as high as you can go sc2-wise... Im just saying that its not by far as hard to find information about the foreig n players as the koreans make it seem... Of course they won't profit of some ro1024 replay of adelscott vs joeschmoe but im quite sure you could easily find a couple of high level replays of most of the euro players

CORRECT KOREAN TRANSLATIONS

Q: First, how do you feel about reaching the RO8?

It was natural for the best player in the world.

I did what what should be expected for the best player in the world

Q: Just recently you lost to White-Ra’s warp prism tactics in the GomTV World Championship team match. Did this affect the way you prepared for your TSL game? For instance, you removed Shakuras plateau from the map pool…

It didn’t matter. During the team league I was trying to lead my opponent into being careless, so I didn't use 100% of my skill.

It didn't. In fact I was trying to lead my opponent into becoming overconfident, so I didn't show 100% of my skill

Q: In games one and two, you surprisingly didn’t use a four warpgate strategy, instead going for quick robotics instead. What was the reason for this?

I wanted to show people I can do things besides four-gate.

Q: In game three you went back to the familiar four warp-gate strategy. On the other hand, your opponent went for a two gate expansion, something easily countered by your four gate build. Was this an intentional mind game after starting the first two games with fast robotics facilities?

On maps where you cannot block your ramp with one force-field, four warpgate is a requirement. White-ra lost because he forgot that.

Q: Your next opponent is the winner of Thorzain vs LiquidTyler. Do you have any information about these players? Who would you rather face?

I have never heard of Thorzain at all, and I only know of Tyler because he’s on Liquid. However, I already know that the best Liquid Protoss is Huk, so neither opponent should be difficult.

I have no idea who Thorzain is and I only know Tyler's name from Liquid
I think the korean might be saying that the Liquid Protoss know that Huk is the best? Korean seems to have a grammatical mistake.

Also, it should say "neither opponent should be too difficult", which is a big difference in tone.

Q: Foreigners had mixed performances in the GomTV World Championships, doing quite well in the team match but doing poorly in the individual tournament. Has your opinion of foreign players changed much?

I thought that foreigners had improved a lot as I watched TSL games. I felt the need to practice more against them, and that is what I did and will continue to do.

I felt that foreigners had developed alot from watching the TSL games. I felt that a lot of practice was needed and that is what I did and will continue to do..

Q: Any last words to your fans, in English?

Hello ^^ I'm GOD of Protoss, MC.
I'm going to Sweden on the 12th, please everyone come watch me play! Thanks.

Who is doing your translations? Because honestly this seems like a deliberate attempt to make MC cockier than he sounds (not that he isn't).....

While that is true, it took quite a while before all those programs came up and even before that Koreans were able to compete in international online events like wc3l, incup etc via Bnet. So Lag is not an Issue, especially considering the fact that a lot of players in eastern europe have more delay on the US Server than Koreans. Therefore it all comes down to the beforementioned arguments of Thorzain.

huk is best protoss in liquid?

He does not know that tyler is on this good level without training in a korean pro house and could still give huk some trouble dealing with him. in my oppinion everyone overrates huk but do not realize how strong tyler is and could be...

btw. MC is over eager! hope he wont lose because of that...
