At Meet Your Makers, we asked the caption of our SC2 Team: Mondragon if he would like to do a special interview where the community is able to ask him the questions instead of the staff members of the websites. Mondragon, being the generous person he is agreed and gave this statement:

when Dimi told me about his plan of publishing some kind of special interview where users were able to address questions directly to me I was quite excited about this. I know and I am very happy that I have many supporters and fans that keep following me and supporting me each tournament I participate in. That is why I think this idea of YOU being able to ask me things you always wanted to know is a great thing. After time has passed I will pick the most interesting questions and the answers will be published after a short time, though of course I will try to answer as many questions as possible.

With him winning over ZeeRaX this weekend in the PokerStrategy - TeamLiquid StarLeague, many people are starting to wonder and question who he is. Well now you really do have the chance to actually get to know Mondragon more than you think you know him.
All topics are fair game for questions so long as they are not offensive. All questions must be submitted within one week.
He will try and answer the questions as soon as possible once the week has gone by.

In your games versus ZeeRaX how did you know you could just go ahead and kill him without really dealing with his air units, is that something you do against stargate openings or did Zeerax do something to make you decide to attack.

he says that to surprise the opponent even more. do you remember what zeerax said at the end of game3? something like "you are quite strong for someone who don't play a lot"

Why do you say you have won important matches in the past because of luck when you obviously have shown not only in Broodwar, but in your match against Zeerax, that your games ar'nt luck based, there very much you just destorying the other opponent?

Mondragon, the goal keeper, used to play for a Turkish football squad called Galatasaray when i used to live in izmir, Turkey a while ago. I guess he transferred to deutschland and i think hes Romanian, anyways I always thought that was a cool name.

Hey Mondragon, great games in the RO32. My question relates to how you approach the game. A big distinguishing part of your play in the TSL 2 Ladder was your use of Zergling run-bys. In TSL 3 we again see a distinguishing style where you counter attack with Roaches in response to Protoss air. Both in the TSL 2 and the TSL 3 you seem to be taking advantage of the slightest weakness shown by your opponent through powerful and unexpected counterattacks. My question: is this play style something you practice and prepare for or is it something you come up with on the fly? What thoughts do you have for other players looking to develop a similarly creative style of play?

I've been a long time fan of SC and SC2, Brood War for many years, and I've always been impressed by your manner and the way you carry yourself in the scene. I commend you for that, you really give a good face to e-sports.

Did you plan out the Protoss air counter with roaches in your TSL game or did you had that idea as the game developed?

Sorry, but is that confirmed ? I know it is on Liquipedia but...it´s just that this Player was traded to the 1.Fc Köln in 2007, before he played in several other countries. I am quite a fan of football, but i didn´t knew him until 2007. In 1998, when i suggest Mondi chose his name, he played for Saragossa in Spain. Can´t really believe that the name comes from this player. It is not impossible, it just seems to be unlikely. So please tell me somebody if that is really true or maybe a mistake on Liquipedia

To Mondragon: In the first game on Crevasse you scouted Zeerax's stargate units very late. What was going through your head when they were at your base, did you think you could still win the game?

Mondiii, what are your plans for SC2 after TSL?

Could you give a brief history of how your playstyle evolved during your long BW-career? What set you apart from other players? How has it carried over to SC2? What remains and what has changed?

When you finally complete your studies (or school in BW ... ... :/ ) - are you going to play serious ? You have your back-up plan then and should be able to fully concetrate on SC2. I am also sure you are going to find a sponsor.

You can be pretty sure that he will be more active. He has signed an endorsement contract with razer, which must have some obligation in it to fulfill from his part (playing sc2, appearing at exhibitions etc).
Furthermore, I want to congratulate you for the path you have taken. While I do think you enjoyed playing games, you knew that you needed a real education in todays world and being a progamer or a poker player wasn't a viable longterm solution for feeding yourself or a family.
From a personal point of view, I am a bit sad that you won't appear in the NASL. In BW the guys behind the NASL wanted to be best friends with you and now they don't know you anymore. Fast changing world. But I think you really don't care that much about it. Beside this, I do hope you will be more active.

Mondragon, what thought process goes through your head going against an opponent like Zeerax in the TSL that would result in you pretty much going against 99.8% of all advice anyone would ever give concerning Phoenix/Void Ray harassment?
