Gom TV is an obviously for-profit organization, while Team Liquid is an essentially free and open community. As the TSL is hosted by TL, VOD's, replays, commentaries, streams, etc. would all be available, while GOM prohibits/inhibits all of these. In particular, their VOD format only allows viewers to see the first match for free, having to purchase a ticket toi view the rest of the matches.

Here's my question: How are these two different mindsets going to mesh over the content TSL will provide?

Wow!
I rarely post but this is definitely post worthy!
Pat on the back for both GOMTV and Team Liquid for making this happen.
Collaboration between different scenes is a really important way the whole starcraft community can grow as a whole.
This being a truly worldwide tournament having localised restreaming partners is amazing.
How about collaborating with the biggest Chinese casters who would restream anyway?

Back when it the Day 1 Hype poster was posted on PlayXp, a lot of Koreans were saying things like "3 am, not going to watch". Still a lot more Koreans are going to watch it now, but remember it is at 3 am, they get to feel how we do with the GSL :p

The people organizing TSL have done a phenomenal job making it a truly international event.

I am so excited for the matches

Hm, I wonder how this will be taken since it is on the same day as the Code S Grand Finals. Korean audience members who are going from Seoul to the event will have to miss Day 1 of the TSL to grab good seats for the live event. rOf course, I was planning on watching the TSL anywho.

Two solid events (hopefully!) back-to-back. Everyone, fighting!

Ye but thats a partnership so they can show GSL, obviously they have times in which they can show GSL, I'm doubtful they would show up at the TV station to ask for time to show this foreigner tourney on TV :/
Life has won two GSLs and a Blizzard Cup. NOT three GSLs.

Dam, how does TL this shit off. The title "Starcraft Progaming News" is no longer sufficient, this is not merely a community/news site.

Not good at all imo, there probably would have been Afreeca restreams anyway since Koreans want to watch their top players. Why does GOM even need to provide VODs? Does youtube lag in Korea or something?

-stream is unreliable
-they shut down restreams to promote use of the GOM player
-VODs, especially HQ ones, have had terrible audio problems to the point of being unwatchable

As an individual from the USA, posts like this make me embarassed that jalstar hails from the same country. Please don't look poorly on our country because we have idiots who know how to use a computer

On topic, this is the best thing that has happened to me all week!
