Awesome stuff, thanks for the transcript. I really want to hear IdrA's take on the whole thing though.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of Idra for a while.

Nony comes off completely differently than Idra even though he's just as confident. Cooler and more refined I think. "I hope we can all stand behind Nony" lmaoooo :D

Do you mean on teamliquid or in SC tournaments? Say what you want about his bm but I think this loss will just make him practice harder and prepare even more for the next big tournament. He has had meltdowns before and that is probably what led to him playing so hard that he is the huge favorite for every foreigner tournament.

Nony comes off completely differently than Idra even though he's just as confident. Cooler and more refined I think. "I hope we can all stand behind Nony" lmaoooo :D

I personally think that this is partly true and partly due to perception. If Idra gave this exact interview after a win I have a feeling people would be talking about his lack of respect for his opponents, but I could be wrong.

Also, Congratulations Nony and good luck!

I think the series would have been waaay better without that one missclick
but whatever, the better prepared player won. nony demonstrating that SC is a mindgame and the more clever player wins not the massgaming, mechanics only player. congratulations!
though it also shows how damn tough it is to play tvp vs a highly aggressive toss

Good interview.

I think i'm in the majority when I say I REALLY want to see a follow up interview with Idra. Specifically, make reference to his answer regarding "what if you do lose" and his "i dont think about things that can't happen" remark.

Oo the drama!

I'm so glad that NonY won, thanks for the interview Artosis, it really helps undestand how and why things when that way.

I think this is kinda faux drama. He believes in the power of confidence and so he's confident. I think "what if you do lose" is an inappropriate pre-match question. I understand it's only there in response to IdrA's extreme confidence but it's still inappropriate. In fact, it's because of his confidence that it's inappropriate. A pre-match interview should hype the match. IdrA's answer is the only one a competitor can give because in a competitor's mind, before the match, losing is literally a thing that can't happen. Any other answer deflates the match. If you had some person without confidence, the interview is kind of a flop anyway and asking that question wouldn't make it any worse.

The fans ought to be excited when they get a taste of the competitors' conviction. But someone has to lose. Being a smartass to the loser isn't cool. There are places for that kind of messing around but I hope the community can agree, out of respect for the competition (that is possible only because an astounding amount of effort from the competitors), that the TSL isn't one of them. Focus on the matches, be happy for the winner and respectful of the loser.

I know I sure as hell couldn't be saying all this if I was the loser so I thought I'd throw it out there while I'm still alive.

perfectly said.

On a side note for the OP. I'd like to suggest a program "Dragon Naturally Speaking 10" (torrent is easily found) for these kind of things. It saves a good amount of time in my opinion and can even be done live by the commentators if they so chose it.

If you are unfamiliar with the program. It is a voice recognition software. It types as quick as you speak and extremely accurate so long as you run through some of the training for your own voice. This program can work in all text applications that I know of so far. I use it for everything on my PC unless I'm SCing (needs mouse)

Anyways, playing back interviews and just talking/repeating what is being said as it plays. Saves an abundance of time and easy on the hands.

Just a suggestion. Enjoy!

I was cheering for NonY, since he is one of my favorite players.

But somehow I feel bad for iDrA. I think that iDrA had to win the TSL since he is a pro gamer.
Anyway, he showed us really nice games. His game play always looks so damn strong.

I am really enjoying watching iDrA play, now. He shows us great decision making, unit positioning, timing, micro, and macro. He is definitely playing like a pro.
NonY did awesome too. His micro attack in the Outsider and Fight Spirit games dropped my jaw. They were just beautiful. =)

In a perfect world everyone gets what they deserve, but hey, this is reality.

Really? Actually i think these atributes should go to Nony for this bo5.

IdrA decision making: Nony proxied something in everygame. In game 5 idrA did not scout properly even though he knew Nony might try smth. Have you ever seen Flash pvt? He sends an SCV to scout in every god damn hole in the map for a proxy but idrA did not scout the freakin' middle.

unit positioning: One scarrab puts 3 tanks on red.

micro: It was good but not enough

macro: we did not get a chance to see it

NonY did awesome too. His micro attack in the Outsider and Fight Spirit games dropped my jaw. They were just beautiful. =)

Actually that game was an almost repeat of Nony vs Carson (even positons) where Carson was rolled over by pure goons were idrA had a reaver extra to handle.

I expected much much more from idrA.
Mess with the best, die like the rest.

Confident people don't need to bash other players in public.

I can't really imagine Federer saying about how bad all his opponents are in Winbledon and how he will crush them 3-0 lololol because he's so good.

Idra has wrong state of mind, and this childish cockyness is part of it. And he keeps failing while he has the skill to beat every foreigner with the left hand and no keyboard.

If Idra respected his opponents, he would be respected himself. I haven't seen much bashing on Mondragon when he lost in last TSL being favorite. Idra is the only responsible for the shit he gets.
The fellow who is out to burn things up is the counterpart of the fool who thinks he can save the world. The world needs neither to be burned up nor to be saved. The world is, we are. Transients, if we buck it; here to stay if we accept it. ~H.Miller
