This is an idea for a special event which would precede the TSL2 finals broadcast. It would be something like the all-star games which are played before Proleague finals.
Possible games might be:
-1v1 games with players who didn't make it to Ro16 or community favorites like Day[9] and iNcontroL
-2v2 games
-Games on old pro maps, island maps, Blizzard maps
-3v3 or multi-team BGH games
-Tandem Starcraft
-Micro maps or micro tournaments
-Off-races, team melee, Greed, Slaughter
It's true that the MSL and OSL don't have all-star games before their finals. Yet Korea has all-star games for its biggest league, which happens to be the Proleague. There is no analogous team league for foreigners with the same prestige and viewers, so the TSL2 is the most appropriate place for this.
You may think that this idea is pointless, or that it would waste time, or that it will turn the finals into a circus. I think it would be a good introduction to the finals. I believe people responded well to Day[9] Daily #50, and I think the community would like to see some of its star players in a less serious situation (although I can't speak to players' interest in participating at all).
I'll add a poll just to see how people react.

I would love to see some 2 on 2 ... or something like race wars where some of the top 48 form teams with their own race... like 3 or 4 man teams and have a battle royale PvZvT ... can you imagine having a tournament with teams like White-Ra/Nony/TT1 vs. Idra/Terran/Tarson vs. Ret/Mondi/Kolll ... how sick would that be... no idea how you would set up the tournament though... unfortunately if u did teams of 3 you couldn't have them all play at once since that would be 9 players

And 1on1s .. I guess with prople who did not qualify for the Ro16.

you said 1v1's so i'm always interesting in watching theses skilled players 1v1... the rest of the games not so much. I'm not really into 2v2 or bgh games  but i mean anything thing that gets people watching or playing is worth it. so i voted interested.

sure fans are always interested in this kind of thing. The problem is geting the players to show up. First there no money to lure them to play. Second its harder to do in the foreign community because we all live in different time zones. I mean you have players like Idra and Ret who everyone would love too see messing around in 2v2v2v2 BGH games, but at the same time they are playing for a living . So will they take away practice time to compete in a event for shits and giggles? I hope so, but I'd understand if they did not. Still all that sad it be kick ass to see somthing like this lol

i cant speak for the other players(if theyd want to participate) but a teambattle would be super fun
2 teams + 2 captains(either 2 tsl players or tl admins etc.), each team captain picks a player one at a time and then we game

I personally wouldn't like to just see normal 1v1s... the point of this would not be good games, but having fun and bringing the community together in a different way than the TSL.

Could do taking-turns like they did in proleague all-star, and have teammates be on team-melee, so 1 guy plays for 5 minutes then stops playing and next guy takes over without any getting up out of your seat thing.

Team melee was a stupid idea, it's difficult/impossible to broadcast (my fault). I forgot to mention free for all. I only mentioned 3v3 because I thought team battles couldn't go up to 8 players, but you can do 4v4 or 2v2v2v2 and cast it from a replay. That's mostly hypothetical though. I doubt you could practically get that many big dogs together.
