I voted on the basis of what I would like to listen to as a viewer and not on creativity or other. Found Vaul's submission had sufficient in-depth analysis without simply stating what we see on screen (I hate that) and a good commentating voice that was not too soft, high-pitched, mono-tone (despite the kiwi accent being naturally monotone ), etc. #2: iCCup.Raelcun For similar reasons to above, I viewed the submissions as if I was going to watch a whole series of commentaries by the person which ones would I be more willing to watch more VODs of without getting irritated or bored with it (not that the others are boring, mind you). Raelcun took my 2nd vote on this basis.

Did you not read what was said before? f10esqftw IS moletrap. Furthermore, VioleTAK is (or should I say was) not a commentator himself and has "retired" from StarCraft a long time ago. His only connection to commentating is that he uploaded some of the commentaries by Klazart while he was still active and then ended up giving his account to Diggity, Moletrap and Klazart when he stopped uploading StarCraft videos.

Some good commentaryes contained do mutch statistics and sleept over important action but these ones where just awesome. I readed over voiting requirements and did not find what sides we need consider on voiting. We need just voite what we like so there is nothing argue about and no one dont need explaine why he chosen exactly these commentators. But still I need 10 posts

I watched them all start to finish. While the information presented by the casters was interesting for the most part, I didn't really enjoy the commentaries all that much. I think I would have preferred to listed to a professional Korean caster on the games -- even though I don't speak any Korean at all -- if that says anything. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the general voice quality of the submissions. Only Diggity and Vaul had voices I could see myself listening to for any length of time. This is probably the biggest reason I didn't like the commentaries. I never realized how picky I am when it comes to voice tone before, but apparently it matters to me quite a bit. Aside from voice quality (which can't be changed *too* much really), there are a few things that I think all of the commentators could do to improve. - Speak steadily. I feel like this is the most common mistake casters make, especially while doing play-by-play during intense situations. Even during times of action, it's better to formulate a thought and clearly enunciate your words and get your point across (albeit after the fact) than rush your commentary and have it not understood or incorrect. - Add insight. I don't consider myself a very knowledgeable Starcraft fan. I am a D player on ICCup, and I have only been following the pro-scene for around two years. Almost every single Day9 cast I watch, I learn something new. It might be something small (and frequently, it's something BIG) but I learn something. I think there were only a couple little pieces of information I picked up from all of these commentaries combined. I understand a big part of a commentators job (especially when casting solo) is to do the play-by-play, which many of the casters did well, but do not forget to add your own knowledge. Long time Los Angeles Dodgers commentator Vin Scully almost always broadcasts solo and he manages to cover the play-by-play while still adding lots and lots of very unique stories, random facts, and insight. This is the type of thing you should try to mirror. I realize Scully has over 60 years of personal baseball experience to pull from to help him out, but if you are casting a Starcraft game, I am sure you have plenty of things you could tell us about. - Be excited when excitement is warranted. This is kind of big for me, but it seems to be more of a personal preference, as opinions on this issue vary greatly. I would like to think that the Korean commentators have a nice feel for when to get excited about the game. It's also something Tasteless does well (which in my opinion is what makes him an entertaining caster, even though he doesn't offer the insight of Day9 or SDM for example). Being excited all the time (or even a majority of the time), is just as bad as being monotone the whole time. I am of the opinion that you should express an appropriate amount of excitement early on, while hyping the match-up (if it's an important game especially) but for the most part be relatively calm until action starts. If you spot cheese, get excited. If a reaver lands a 9 kill scarab (or if that 9 kill scarab bugs out), get really excited. If a player sends out a scouting worker at standard timing, perhaps you should remain calm. I know this seems obvious, but to me this was one of the major failures of the majority of the entires. Once again, I tip my hat to all those who submitted an entry. In the proper perspective, they were all quite good. Also, I feel obligated to add that Trozz did an amazing job with his script. I didn't care for his voice and the delivery was bit distracting, but it was still quite entertaining

However, everybody should listen to Trozz. You might not like it, but it is quite different compared to all the others! (I really enjoyed it!)
