Gonna be some great matchups.

Ro16: (T)(ua)Strelok vs (P)(ua)White-Ra, who will be king of Ukraine?

Ro8: (T)(us)IdrA vs (P)(us)NonY, for realsies this time.

Im upset that, even if (Z)(ca)XiaOzI wins group I, hes gonna have to face (T)(us)IdrA in the round of 16, seeing as how hes one of my favorite players and hes not likely to beat (T)(us)IdrA :/

Ukrainians get a tough draw as their countries two remaining players will have to face each other in the round of 16 if they win their groups

If (Z)(pe)CaStrO and (Z)(nl)Ret win, (Z)(nl)Ret must face zerg again in the RO 16
What you need to do is be thankful for the life you got, you know what im sayin? ... stop lookin at what you ain't got ... start bein thankful for what you do got.

idk, I know Idra has gotten a lot better even in the last half year, but he has dropped games to xiaozl before and who knows. Then again, it is a best of 5 which should give Idra a decent advantage.

Happy to see you guys kept this simple, was wondering if you might do some reseeding based on ladder rank or something after the thrid qualifier round since it hadn't been announced earlier.
It's supposed to be automatic but actually you have to press this button.

Really hope Ret and Mana win so they play each other.

Mana wouldn't pp a match with Ret because he said there was no chance he could win, lol. I hope Ret gets some revenge!

Edit: Don't know why i double posted, went brain dead. Please delete my above post if necessary.

vs sen in QF? ^^

as I see it, lower side of bracket is hardest comptetition

my favs in upper side is idra and white ra facing it up

while in the lower side there is mondi, brat_ok (whom im really excited to see how he will do), ret, sen and draco (wonder about the form of draco)

so ye, lower side is more intense for me

edit. forgot to mention koll and terran too. well they are up and coming, but i dont really see them do too much in this TSL, is still too early for them to brawl with the big guys. might have to eat those words tho. and would gladly do so. need some new blood ^^

edit2: its not that nony or JF r bad, just expect their inactivity to be decisive against the likes of idra and white ra

think is a good draw for idra. though he did mention once that he is aware when facing white ra, though he still usually wins

edit 500?: then again, any draw is a good draw for idra -_- and mayb white ra would be the one who has the best chance of stopping him? so finals... idra v ret, sen or brat_ok. dunno what i think bout tvt finals tho

How can it be Bo5 and Bo7 Finals?

is it a Bo7 Final

and a Bo5 between 3 and 4th?

Nice at the potential IdrA VS NonY and then maybe IdrA VS White-Ra and then a potentially nerdgasm ret vs idra

im really glad there r no bo3s in the tournament, so nobody will be able to win with double bunker rush -_-, though tripple bunker rush is still possible o_O

and i guess is nice when finals looks different from rest, and bo7 kinda gives message to MSL and OSL that yeah, u guys have bo5, but TSL is EPICNESS. though they prob dont care much -_-

kinda surprising the pairing system, this way #48 in the ladder could be #5 seed, while #12's only aspirations are to be #16, seems weird

anyway, this tournament is going to be really interesting, keep the good work guys

Don't see them as separate stages for the seeding. The seeding starts at Q1 with 25 vs 48 which has the highest ranked player of Q1 (Horror #25) against the lowest (#48 Nemu). The winner of this match plays the lowest ranked in Q2 (Kenzy #24) and the winner of this plays the highest ranked player in Q3 (#1 Nony). The winner of this match plays the 5th lowest ranked player in TSL Ro16 (because of JF, Brat, Draco and Idra) which is group H.

Re-seeding was an option but we feel that puts too much emphasis on original ladder rank, ignoring the theoretical strength of the qualifier groups you had to fight through.

With things like this there are always arguments for both sides. We feel #48 beating Nony and being seeded against the #1 in the next round is not the better option. It is comparable to the #120 beating Nadal in R3 and then facing Federer in R4 due to re-seeding the players according to original rank.

It's the way you make any standard bracket. You pair the players always assuming the higher seed advances while always giving the highest seed the easiest game per round. Mathematically, this means the sum of every game's seeds should be the same for every other game in that round. That's what we did.

germany has always been one of the best. pretty awesome performances from the germans so far. i wish i had as many americans to cheer for at this point! but i think it will be difficult for even one german to make the semis.

I think Idra draw is not nearly as easy as some think lol. Nony/JF/White-Ra is sick. I mean you can say they are not as active, but those 3 guys all have the ability to beat Idra when they are at the top of there game.

This is still going to be awesome. Expect many surprises today though .

Two small remarks for the incredible team at TeamLiquid that bring us this amazing match-ups. One regards the time schedule.. please please try to keep it. The other thing, well the commentating is really top class. However yesterday, in few moments I felt like they were talking of a different game. I would suggest that the guys also see the same observer as the one that we see in the stream.

That's about it. What can I say, incredible job so far. Can't wait for the next games. GL to all participants

It's not really technically possible to do what you described kokorel with regards to the obs (that's my understanding--I don't do the technical stuff for casts). Korean progaming even does it with this same restriction with their casters actually. That's why we have our obs preview the reps ahead of time, to try to ensure they see all the critical moments.

I'm not sure what happened with regards to the time schedule yesterday, but it's something we are working on for today and future casts.

yeah it did seem like Artosis/Tasteless were a little off on commenting critical moments on the stream for Koll/Infernal games. I figured they were looking at a different view point than the observer

Looks like we're going to see an idra vs nony rematch in the QFs. Also looking forward to White-Ra vs Kabal and terran vs leftnaj match.

Predictions:

Terran > IefNaij
White-Ra > Kabal
Nony > Tarson
Idra > XiaOzi
Brat > Mondragon
Kolll > Fenix
Castro > Ret (unfortunate that ret has to play another zvz, but I think this will be the case)
Sen > Draco

Wow i feel sorry for ret.. he's gonna have to play nothing but zergs to reach the grand finals against Idra ( my prediction ).

Oh well, a good reason to practice that ZvZ :D

I don´t know if JF has been active enough, but in shape he can beat GosI[Terran] no problem.

TT1 can beat white-ra (i remember in his reppack when he went 8-2 vs him in iccup), but of course white-ra is very solid in tournaments.

I hope NonY wins this, he is the better player but maybe still a little rusty. Tarson is a good player but nothing really impressive IMO.

IdrA will take this in a Bo5 no doubt, even if Xiaozi is really good at not dying vs terran by making invincible units.

Brat_OK vs mondragon will be an amazing match, could go for any of the two.

Kolll will most likely smash fenix (fenix is still amazing, but Kolll is being unstoppable lately)

Ret can beat Castro, but the peruvian is pretty good at lagging, ling making and macro.. it is also ZvZ so it could go both ways.

I hope Draco wins, but Sen is a beast. Draco's PvZ is still very very good, so this will be a nice set.

So many zergs on ret's side of the bracket... and so little on Idra's. Hopefully ret can pull through, especially with kolll looming in the distance and a laggy Castro as his next match.

Lol, even if ret wins, there's a good chance he'll have to play sen after that... and if he beats sen there's a decent chance he'll have to play kolll after that ^^

Wtf this is the first time I realised that the grand finals is a BO7
hm I actually would have prefered a BO5... oh well.

Funny to think that Draco, despite being the number 2 seed, could really end up being the darkhorse of this tournament. Has anybody heard anything from him lately? Certainly isn't any hype about him at all.

JF > Terran
rA > Kabal
Nony > Tarson
Idra > Xiaozi
Mondi > Brat
Kolll > Fenix
Castro > ret
Draco > Sen

Terran/Protoss Side. Zerg side.

+ Show Spoiler [Predictions] +

#1 v. #16: Unfortunately for (P)(ca)Mouz.IefNaij, our reigning TSL champion is going to have to pull out his supply of devil juice to keep pace with an in-form (T)(mx)GosI[Terran]. Terran's TvP is equally strong in executing timing pushes or fighting a macro war, while Jian Fei's play seems to have slipped in recent days due to inactivity.
(T)(mx)GosI[Terran] 3 : 1 (P)(ca)Mouz.IefNaij

#8 v. #9: (P)(ca)[Pan]KabaL's defeat of Avi-Love was a surprise to many, but his win against Mouz.Strelok surely counts as the TSL's most surprising upset so far. Despite two convincing victories, our beloved TT1 comes into his Round of 16 match an underdog yet again. (P)(ua)Mouz.White-Ra is among foreigner starcraft's legends, but unlike many other old-school greats, White-Ra has continually been active, and has continually refined and updated his play. PvP is likely his most confident and frightening match-up. No stopping him.
(P)(ua)Mouz.White-Ra 3 : 0 (P)(ca)[Pan]KabaL

#5 v. #12: This is one of the round of 16's most interesting match-ups. (P)(us)Liquid'NonY's strong performance against Idra[Media] and his roflstomp of HoRRoR leave no doubt that he can play at a high level, yet how this series will go is a little up in the air. (T)(pl)iG.Tarson is vastly better than HoRRoR, yet a clear step below Idra. What will determine this series is likely Tarson's play. If he shows off the kind of stalwart micro and macro that he displayed in an epic defeat of Mouz.Sziky than Tarson can take this series. At the very least, a tight series is assured.
(T)(pl)iG.Tarson 3 : 2 Liquid'(P)(us)Liquid'NonY

#4 v. #13: There's no doubt about who the favorite is in this series. (T)(us)IdrA[Media] showed sublime play against Liquid'NonY in to grab the #4 seed, and there can be no doubt that the foreigner bonjwa is determined to finish a year of dominance with the top placement. His opponent, (Z)(ca)ToT)XiaOzI( is curiously one of the few players with the ability to (ling back)stab Idra's cold terran heart. XiaOzI is "good at not dying against terran" and knocked him out of the JSL. However, a Bo5 certainly plays well into Idra's hands, and he will no doubt be prepared and focused like no tournament before.
(T)(us)IdrA[Media] 3 : 1 (Z)(ca)ToT)XiaOzI(

#3 v. #14:
Fresh off a thrilling series of games against Shaman, (Z)(de)ToT)Mondragon( the patron saint of foreigner starcraft makes his second TSL run against the third place finisher from the Razer TSL; (T)(ru)RoX.BRAT_OK. It's difficult to gauge the form of both players, but with two experienced players, the series promises to be close and hard-fought. With the edge of activity, Brat should take the series, by a small margin.
(T)(ru)RoX.BRAT_OK 3 : 2 (Z)(de)ToT)Mondragon(

#6 v. #11:
Both players are fresh off decisive 3-1 victories in R3, but (Z)(de)Mouz.Kolll should take a slight edge, playing the same match-up he did earlier. (T)(pe)Mouz.Fenix is not a player to be underestimated, however. A veteran of and frequent top-4 finisher in major tournaments, Fenix should be able to draw on a wealth of experience that the young German prodigy does not have yet. The series should hinge on the first couple games, because Kolll demonstrated in his series against ex-v1o)Morrow, his legendary muta micro may take warming up. Still, with Fenix's TvZ being a little unknown, and Kolll's ZvT having beaten the likes of Idra, the young German should win here.
(Z)(de)Mouz.Kolll 3 : (T)(pe)Mouz.Fenix

#7 v. #10:
One of the TSL's title contenders, (Z)(nl)Ret, looks to be in for a trial by fire ZvZ if he wants to make the final rounds. (Z)(pe)[Pan]CaStrO is no slouch at the match-up, and is coming off an authoritative run through his group. Ret, meanwhile, barely managed to get past the surprising Romanian zerg NrT.FlaF in the R3, showing superior micro and management, but making a few crucial blunders that cost him games 3 and 4. This is Ret's series to take, and I'm sure most of TL wishes he progresses, but (and lets not talk about lag) CastrO could easily play the spoiler.
(Z)(nl)Ret 3 : 1 (Z)(pe)[Pan]CaStrO

#2 v. #15:
The polish dragon and second place finisher in the Razer TSL; (P)(pl)Retired.Draco will meet a difficult opponent in (Z)(tw)DuskBin.Sen. The Taiwanese zerg destroyed mTw.Ghosta 3-1, winning on maps he had only seen moments before. Draco's current ability is unknown, but even at his peak, he would have a hard time dealing with this current resurrected Sen. An even series on paper, it's the uncertainty of Draco's ability, and the following quote:
+ Show Spoiler +
DuskBin.Sen:
SEN IS BACK
That is all.
That point in Sen's favor.
(Z)(tw)DuskBin.Sen 3 : 2 (P)(pl)Retired.Draco

So I said before that I thought ret had a good chance. I take it all back. I'm not saying that ret isn't a favorite to make the finals, just that if he was in the top half of the bracket and Irda was in the bottom that things would be incredibly easier for him. Sucks that all the zerg players advanced. Having to possibly play Castro, Sen the Kolll would not exactly be his ideal bracket.

I half want to believe this is a troll.

I like Tarson and NonY, I really do. But Tarson is nowhere near as good as many of the people in this field (BRAT, Mondi, Sen, Draco, White-Ra off the top of my head) and NonY is not at the peak of his game. He gave IdrA some damn good games, but in a Bo5 I'd still pick any of those 5 I mentioned over him in a series.

I just watched my first sen replays of my life.

Oh My God. His muta-lurker-ling army movement is the best I've seen from any non-korean. There are no other non-korean zergs that I've seen do well after losing there third gas.

I think rets bracket(assuming he wins) has him playing zvz all the way to the end. Which is rather bad for him.

Even if he is a 60-70% favorite in all of the games that isn't a big enough edge to insure he passes.

I have no clue why jos is only playing zerg now that he isn't in korea ....

He is in Korea till the 28th. Plays a courage tournament the 24th. You could argue skipping the tourney and practicing terran, but if not then he still has to play all zerg till then. He has probably thought this all through numerous times so I assume he thinks two weeks isn't enough to get back into TvZ.

Like he had even a 5% chance of winning against [gosi]terran. Mondi is one of the weakest players in the ro16.

Did you just missclicked in making the graphics or did (T)(pe)Fenix announced that he will play Protoss against (Z)(de)Kolll? I thought he is a Terran Player only dodgin TvT with Protoss.

My Predictions:
(P)(ca)IefNaij > (T)(mx)GosI[Terran] (could be very tense)
(P)(ua)White-Ra > (P)(ca)TT1 (I think this will be pretty much onesided)
(P)(us)NonY > (T)(pl)Tarson (could be either way, but if Nony improves his play from against IdrA, like he mentioned in his interview, I am sure he will make it)
(T)(us)IdrA > (Z)(ca)XiaOzI (clean sweep, 3-0. No Ling Rush suceed this time, sorry)
(Z)(de)Mondragon < (T)(ru)BRAT_OK (I hope Dissy will win, but I would bet on Brat)
(Z)(de)Kolll > (T)(pe)Fenix (should be close though, Fenix is a very good player)
(Z)(nl)Ret > (Z)(pe)CaStrO (hopefully)
(Z)(tw)Sen < (P)(pl)Draco (hoping for a good series, but I hope Draco wins 3-0 )

GL HF to all participants, thank you TL.net for organizing such a great tournament and also thank you to PokerStrategy.com for the sponsoring. TSL been awesome so far, I cannot say it too often, thanks thanks thanks. Very appreciated work by all contributory persons.

How are people putting JF over Terran?

Terran just convincingly beat infernal, and JF almost decided not to play because hes not in shape. I would be shocked if JF beat Terran.

Also, Draco is going to lose to Sen.

Predictions:

(P)(ca)IefNaij << (T)(mx)GosI[Terran]
(P)(ua)White-Ra > (P)(ca)TT1
(P)(us)NonY > (T)(pl)Tarson
(T)(us)IdrA >>>> (Z)(ca)XiaOzI
(Z)(de)Mondragon < (T)(ru)BRAT_OK
(Z)(de)Kolll >> (T)(pe)Fenix
(Z)(nl)Ret > (Z)(pe)CaStrO
(Z)(tw)Sen > (P)(pl)Draco

Im fairly safe about terran, Idra and kolll

I think Mondi vs Brat_ok , Sen vs Draco, Ret vs Castro are very very unpredictable and Id say its always 50/50 + - a few for one or the other..

Actually I think ret is mainly facing zergs if he can get far in the tourney which is on the one hand bad for him cause he doesnt like zvz that much but then again he can train this match up solely basically and I doubt hes unhappy about ZvP either in case draco wins vs sen..

i have to say, that i'm not sure if ret will make it past castro. zvz is always a bit of a coinflip and we all know, that ret has better matchups than zvz :O

lol and i just mentioned that i predicted nothing but zvzs for him until 3rd place match :D

I think Fenix can take him.

watched on livestream their game where TT1 lost after a hour long game.

it comes down on nerves and white-ra has the advantage there.

based on watching his stream, tt1's got pretty good pvp. but white-ra has so much experience in big tourneys. definitely be a tough match

Terran is playing really really good. His series against Infernal was impressive. People just underestimate him because they don't know him. I expect him to advance to ro8.

That's fine. He's playing one of the most clutch, best liked, well respected, and frankly badass Protosses on the planet. He's good, but he's also slow and if he makes any mistakes he's going to lose that game. Super props to the guy for making it this far, I actually watch his stream a lot - but fuck me that's one tough draw for him.

Ladder games are ALOT different then this. TT1 is in his first real big tournament that I know about (sorry if I missed something, haha), playing against White-Ra, who is used to all this stuff. I'm hoping TT1 wins because I like him, Iovi bashed me into rooting for him, and he's a damn Canadian, but I don't know if he can pull it off in such a prestigious tournament.

So I wrote the Ro16 bracket down in a notebook the other day as the R2 and R3 qualifiers were finishing, just so I could keep track of how the rest of the tournament was going to play out. Today I came into the computer room and, lo and behold, my wife had taken the liberty of filling out the entire bracket, right down to the grand finals.

I present to you, in all their glory, my wife's predictions:

Ro16 Winners:
(P)(ca)mouz.IefNaij
(P)(ua)White-Ra
(P)(us)NonY
(T)(us)IdrA
(Z)(de)Mondragon
(Z)(de)Kolll
(Z)(nl)Ret
(P)(pl)Draco

Quarterfinals Winners:
(P)(ua)White-Ra
(T)(us)IdrA
(Z)(de)Kolll
(P)(pl)Draco

Semifinals Winners:
(Z)(de)Kolll
(T)(us)IdrA

Grand Finals Winner:
(T)(us)IdrA

Now Katherine says that she predicted all these based on how cute the names were, but I call work on the Idra prediction. Number one, Idra is way less cute as a name than Ret. Number two, she was in the computer room with me the other day when I was listening to the Idra/Nony cast. She had to have heard that Idra was the heavy favorite.

**note: she did not predict the 3rd and 4th place winner because I didn't write that part of the bracket in my notebook.**

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For your further edification, she also ranked the casters of the TSL (she ranked them one through three because she does not know that Tasteless and Day[9] are two different people.

1. Artosis (the nerdy one)
2. Tasteless/Day[9] (she thinks "he" is very excitable)
3. Chill (what can I say Chill. I tried to covince her you were tight. I guess your insight is beyond her grasp.)

Even if ret can manage to overcome the lag that's most likely gonna happen with Castro, I don't see him winning a bo5 against Sen. Of course if Draco wins then ret has a good chance of advancing and making it to the finals/semis, but otherwise I can't see him making it there :/

GL though ret!

My predictions:

RO8
(T)(mx)GosI[Terran] (JF is probably my favorite foreigner but I don't know if he's in shape)
(P)(ua)White-Ra

(P)(us)NonY
(T)(us)IdrA

(T)(ru)BRAT_OK
(Z)(de)Kolll

(Z)(nl)Ret (Really the hardest match to call imo)
(Z)(tw)Sen

RO4
(P)(ua)White-Ra
(T)(us)IdrA

(Z)(de)Kolll
(Z)(nl)Ret

GF
(T)(us)IdrA
(Z)(nl)Ret

(T)(us)IdrA wins. Fuck yeah, American Terrans!

edit: I'm not even slightly sure that Ret will beat Sen but I'm still picking Jos to win that series. Draco would be a better opponent for him but I think he'll be prepared nonetheless.

So sick that Sen is playing Draco in Ro16 btw. These two are two of my favorite foreigners of all time, and imo two of the best five foreigners if you look at the past 5-6 years. A shame that one of them has to go out

Tinman: Reading your story put a big smile on my face. Her predictions are really good, but first and foremost it's just a sweet, quirky thing to do. Please tell your wife she's awesome! (Like that will mean anything to her coming from a random guy on a gaming forum)

My predictions:
iefNaij < terran (perhabs I'm too hyped about terran, but he seemed so solid in his last games, and I really want him to do well)
White-Ra > TT1 (I don't see tt1 eliminating the grandpa toss, though he plays really well)
Nony > Tarson (Haven't seen Tarson's latest games and I find this one hard to predict)
Idra > XiaOzi (Like everyone else I expect Idra to win everything, but he is somewhat prone to lose where he shouldn't, so this tsl is far from his yet)
Mondi < Bratok (Don't now how good bratok has been lately, but he is one of my favorite players and super skilled, so I expect a great performance from him. Mondi is scary though)
Koll > Fenix (Expect this to be close, but the young zerg will most likely pull through)
Ret > Castro (Hopefully! I believe ret will lose to sen in ro8 though. A shame really)
Sen > Draco (I honestly don't know how good these players are right now, but judging from earlier performances I don't see Draco win this)

Oh, and did anyone at all predict that IdrA won't reach the finals? If not, that just goes to say a lot.

God, I can't believe how many people are saying Terran will win over IefNaij.

my predictions:
iefNaij>terran
White-rA>TT1 (Sad these two have to face off early, I'd root for TT1 vs almost anyone else but White-rA is my fav)
Nony>Tarson
IdrA>XiaoZi
Brat_ok>Mondragon (I'd like mondi to win, but I think Brat_ok is the favorite here)
Fenix>Kolll (Kolll is way overrated imo but I guess we will see)
Castro>Ret (This could really go either way but I think there is a lot of pressure on Ret)
Sen>Draco

Full Prediction:

1st: Idra

I just can't imagine how strong ret would be at this more refinned pure aggression midgame tvz style terrans are using. I think koll, sen, castro would all get brutalized on this map pool. But two weeks just might not be enough. Then again castro has weaker mechanics and timings then koll so switching and being slightly sloppy might be better then a 55%-59% edge.

I saw his location had changed back on his id so I assumed he was home my bad =).

I am looking forward to the Idra XiaOzi match. Idra's worst match up, and two very good players. Of course Idra will probably win, but I would love to see the nerd rage if he loses.

Oh and Ret's zvz is not as much of a lock as people seem to believe. His match against Flaf went to 5, and yes I know he took the first two. However he missed a 12 hatch expand and let Flaf right back into the series. Yes he is still the favorite, and I would never bet against him, I just think that zvz is the most upset prone match up and so I would much rather see ret play against a toss or terran as I am a fan of his.

Here are my predictions:

IefNaij > GosI[Terran] I really think this can go either way, both are extremely solid players, 3-2 for JF!
White-Ra < TT1 TT1 is just awesome and he puts in lots of time into practicing so he can definitely pull an upset here. 3-1 TT1.
NonY > Tarson Since nony mentioned that he'll be practicing and be ready for this match, I believe he'll be able to take the series 3-1.
IdrA < XiaOzI Man, I feel so bad for XiaOzI, always having to play IdrA in tournaments. I'm sure IdrA will win but XiaOzI did eliminate IdrA in that one tournament O_O! I can only hope XiaOzI can pull off the same results here. 3-2 XiaOzI.
Mondragon > BRAT_OK I love watching Mondi play and he amazes me everytime, Mondi 3-0 or 3-1!
Kolll > Fenix Kolll, you're crazy good. 3-0 or maybe 3-1 for Kolll
Ret > CaStrO I really hope Ret takes this but, for some reason, I have a bad feeling about this series o_o.
Sen > Draco I think this series will be really close. I haven't heard anything about Draco yet but Sen, on the other hand, seems to be prepared and ready so, 3-1 or 3-2 for Sen.

a few things:

1) All the poeple who think Nony is the clear favourite and will destroy Tarson are wrong. Im not saying Tarson will beat Nony just that it will be much closer than some here seem to think. Just imo for sure..

2) Ret getting all the > óver castro ( including from me ) is not so much about ret being the clear favorite in a ZvZ vs Castro but about how much we all like him and root for him..

3) People here who think JF beats Terran. Thats an valid opinion but I doubt un can objectively say that JF is the fav.

And a lot depends on how active the likes of Draco,Sen, JF really are..

Xiaozi can win ONLY if the games are under 10 minuts. Over that, when IdrA's macro kicks in. We will see a steamroll of marine medic going towards xiz's base !

actually my knowledge of the gamers skills is not that bad and I dont give a shit that u dont know but even though Im not playing anymore I can still judge most gamers pretty well and I clearly see that people are underrating Tarson. His TvP is not bad. His mechanics and timing is clearly not as good as yours Idra but Tarsons late game TvP is pretty good imo..

So do you think Nonys gonna 3-0 Tarson ? Or win in an absolutely dominant fashion ?

I actually kind of agree with magic~phil here

Nony is the favourite against Tarson, but Tarson def has a decent shot at winning.

and for the last time i will state:

if JF does not train massively he has no chance what so ever vs Terran
if JF trains a lot i think Terran is still the slight favorite..

I sometimes get the feeling people just judge players by what they used to play once..

Many dont realize that JF is / was very inactive + Terran really active and practices really much + is just an amazing gamer

Honestly: Im not saying Infernal played his best games vs Terran but he did really really well and I doubt JF is much better PvT than Infernal, even if he trains some..

( just an opinion )

but some people here just assume that JF is already ro8 thats ridicolous

nony vs tarson is together with idra vs timothy the only matchup with a very clear favourite.
I'll be very surprised if tarson wins even 2 out of 5. 3-0 and 3-1 seem about equally likely. horror isn't GREAT, but the reason he looked bad in QRO3 was that he faced nony, whom is mechanically on a whole other level than all other protosses in the tourney.

I think nony even has a decent shot (about the same chance as ret) at beating idra when they face in RO8.

Liquid`Drone saying nony vs tarson has a clear favorite.... hmm i dont know man.
Tarsons pvt is his strongest match up and its hard for me to judge Nonys form from those 2 matches: one with clearly mechanically superior Idra and second with imo quite weak Horror.

I think Tarson is being underrated here too to be honest, he's been a very fast and solid terran for quite a while now, his games vs sziky were REALLY awesome and, in my eyes, at the top level of foreign gaming. Saying that, I don't think he'll win but I don't think he should be counted out.

Im so hyped for the Nony idra rematch. Nony seems to be regaining form like one would not have expected. One of the players i would be happy with winning the TSL.
Also nice would be Bratok, White Ra or Mondi (though his route really seems impossible).

I'm really looking forward to these promising and close battles. I bet, that we're not gonna see a player sealing the deal with a 3-0 score (if someone proves me wrong, then it probably will be either IdrA or White-Ra). My predictions:

(P)(ca)IefNaij < (T)(mx)GosI[Terran]
(P)(ua)White-Ra > (P)(ca)TT1
(P)(us)NonY > (T)(pl)Tarson
(T)(us)IdrA > (Z)(ca)XiaOzI
(Z)(de)Mondragon > (T)(ru)BRAT_OK
(Z)(de)Kolll > (T)(pe)Fenix
(Z)(nl)Ret > (Z)(pe)CaStrO
(Z)(tw)Sen > (P)(pl)Draco

Despite not being the obvious favorite and BRAT_OK being one of my favorite foreign terrans, I'm rooting for Mondragon to win his match against BRAT_OK. I'm also excited about GosI[Terran]'s match. Sen vs. Draco is a spectecular old-school encounter. And ret hopefully knocks CaStrO out of the tournament.

Yeah, if the player is going to change their race, they have to notify their opponent and TSL staff 1 week before the match. So everyone knows whats going on and the matches should be good.

Can't wait for Saturday >_<

Yeah im thinking ra will do it 3-0, possibly nony. Based on what i saw from his matches with idra.

further more I dont think him being the reigning champ would no reason to cast his games when players like mondragon, idra, kolll, draco and others participate..

But obviously every single game will be broadcasted from now on which is just kinda amazing and really cool =)

I remember players qualified for Ro16, received $250.

How much prize money, do players qualified for Ro8, receive?
