This is absultely ridiculous. I cant believe this is happening. People risking being dq for 2-3 wins.
A little drama is good, but this is too much. I now kinda wish, that tl.net announced before the start of the ladder that they had a method of catching this type of abuse. So so many great players will not play now T_T

I mean that abusing that little number of wins is complete non sense unless I'm failing to understand.

Cheating is cheating. One game, two games, ten games, makes no difference whatsoever.

i think he means it makes no sense to cheat to go only go up like 200 pts or something.

200 points is the difference between place 5 and place 14.
200 points is the difference between place 24 and place 38.
Two or three free wins without taking any risk do make quite a difference.

Maybe the right thing would be just take these points away and not to ban them?

Yeah we really want people to do this without risking anything. Remember, this is just the people who were stupid enough to use the same IP twice.

Tell that to Kwark or others who by all rights could have made it into the tournament had they not felt they needed to play even more games to catch up to some people with imaginary points. A couple hundred points effects too many players around them in the ladder to justify allowing them to stay; even in the cases of those who would have easily made top 48 such as Dimaga and Yosh.

Too greedy, sad people. An updated ladder with all DQ would be nice, slowly i'm losing overview of the current standings.

Damn it im so much disapointed by top players abusing 2-3 wins because they are lazy to play like 10-20 games more. No doubt in my mind A2 Yosh Dimaga Reason and Sarens are just great players but so lazy ....be ashamed of yourselfs and see guys who have like 300-500 (or more! )games like Morrow Kr Octzerg Sen White-ra and lot of other gamers and you dont even wanna play 100-150 games out of LAZYNESS.

Now thinnk if its worth the risk to miss up on 10k $ for 200-300 points. I can understand ppl like scan mercury ribo and vasilisk who are not that good to get into 48 and got NOTHING to lose but you guys have no excuse.

Im disapoint... TSL will lose on quality games but you guys deserve even bigger punishment for future TSL or similar events.

It's unfortunate that so many players have resorted to abuse, especially when many of them were genuine contenders to win the whole tourney. I hope they've learned their lesson.

what i still don't get is why, if it's only a matter of 200 points, not wait and bash a few selected newbies and grind these 200 points with 4 games instead..

I think its like this:
Players like Dimaga and Yosh reasoned it was clever to sample playstyles perhabs even test reactions to certain builds. Especially on their high level this is a way to get an adavantage over their opponents. After endless hours of grinding with the smurfs they get tired and think. Damn i beat so many top people and get 0 points doing so. Perhabs their place in q3 qualifier is even at risk and they think. i earned that fucking points, i did not even dodge, i can have at least a small piece of the cake. they transfer stats to a friend and get 2 free wins.

Stupid goddamn abusers, can't play straight to qualify, jeez.
Vasilisk should be banned for hacking before TSL even started, that douche never changes :\

This leaves me guessing how many actually abused with friends or clanmates, which is harder if not impossible to track.
maybe half of the top48 tried to cheat their way in... really sad what money does to people.

This is valid, I think. The players DQed so far made it obvious, what about others who didn't? It's very hard to differentiate late 'series' wins that might have been done maliciously from ones that were, as people put it before, just players trying to get a shot at playing against one of the top foreigners at their best.

And another question: was playing on a non-TSL account for the purposes of judging other players' strategy/style illegal by itself?
