Played a beastly 45 games today over the last 16-17 hours or so, and I noticed it started to take a toll on me as I was getting really tired the last 15 games or so, with the 10 last just being desperate cheese attempts every game trying to gain fast points which ultimately failed horribly.

Really disappointing not making it after playing 400~ games these last 3 weeks in between 3 exams (which kinda suffered from it lol) but with my terribad PvZ (44% including probably 20 wins before I started losing at the B ranks) and the B+/A- rank thriving with Zergs I never seemed to get anyway once I got above A- In the end I guess I am just not good enough to qualify.

So now I have to cheer for Eri and Shauni(if he pulls through last minute)

Nice effort Oystein!... I loved watching you stream and you had some crazy games! Too bad though =(

I wonder how the admins will enforce the rule as it pertains to kolll vs sziky. The rule is as follows:

Rule 2 - Example: If you are playing the same player, 3-0, 4-1, 5-2 would be acceptable scores, but 4-0 or 5-1 would not be. Any violations will result in point penalties.

Now, kolll beat sziky 3-0, then lost 1-2 to him just recently. However, he won the first game of the second three game series, meaning at that moment in time he was 4-0 vs. sziky. The rule can be interpreted two ways:

1) If at any point in time you have a 4+ win differential against the same opponent within a 24 hour period, you have broken the rule.

2) If, after the 24 period starting with the first game has elapsed, you have a 4+ win differential against the same opponent, you have broken the rule.

Kolll would be guilty of #1, but not #2 (although if he keeps playing sziky he could potentially violate #2 as well).

In my understanding they should have stopped playing as soon as it was 3-0 in favour of one of them. Way #2 would be an absurd rule, how could you be sure that you will bring back the differential to only 3 at the end of the day?

I completely agree with you, but I accidentally quoted only the rule's example, and not the rule itself. The actual rule is this:

2. A player may only have a 3 game win/loss differential versus his opponent per 24-hour period

The way this is worded sounds dangerously similar to #2. It would be completely nonsensical to have it that way, but I hope the admins clarify the situation.

Quote from the rules thread:

"On the final day of the ladder, players may only play another player to a difference of three games. For example, 3-0, 4-1, 5-2, 6-3 are all acceptable last day series scores against a single player, while 4-0 is not. Once the score reaches a three game margin for either player, the players must stop playing each other."

Ah, thanks. I was reading the "announcements and links" page and they had an abridged version of the rule, without that last part. Now all that remains to be seen is what sort of punishment the TSL guys give to kolll.

Too bad man really wanted to see you in the playoffs.

Yea same you the #1 streamer on TL.

Thanks for the kinds words everyone! Encourages me to stream more when the new season begins.

On the bright side I never was above the cutoff unlike others who was as high as A and failing now, they must be really kicking themselves. In general a real rat race going on now in the end.

and yosh (edit: reading the post above, apparently not yosh :D) and probably some other players too.
+ there are maybe some more abusers who have to be DQ.
hell, the tsl staff will have tons of work to do before the actual #48 will be figured out.

and wouldn't that be exciting. i somehow doubt we would have 156 pages of p26hn1 is only 1 win out of the top 48 guys! wow, p28jd5 just 3-0'd p98kd8! siick!

certain sacrifices must be made to turn games of starcraft into a $23k tournament. bending to spectators is one.

You're right but you say it as if the ladder phase is the end.

The spectator phase is yet to come - this is akin to reading LR's about offline qualifiers in OSL/MSL. It's very exciting (I always follow it closely) but it's nothing compared to the actual tournaments.

It happend to quite some players - I assume they ll remove the games. In this case kolll would actually gain +150 points. Sziky might lose his top12 spot by it... Cant imagine they make penalty especially in this case as its imo obviously not done on purpose.
These cases are actually quite sad - they might change the ladder quite a lot and surprise some people who then have no chance to alter things. It happend to some players...
For the swarm!
