wrong :p TSL starts at the reset of the season, thats the fun part + with the 3-0 and you are done system no more foreigner vs foreigner abuse Wasnt the rule only applying to the last day? Before the last day you could also play 8 games against some other person? (8 is just an example) This is true. Remember you do need to abide by ICCup rules on the # of games per day against a single player. It differs for each rank:
http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/sc_ladder_rules.html
Playing against the same person too many times: You are not allowed to play more than: 6 games between D- and D+ 9 Games between C- and C+ 12 Games between B- and B+ A- and Olympic — No more than 1000 points gained from 1 player. That could be as little as 8 games in a row, or it could potentially be 30-40 so long as 1 player doesn't gain more than 1000 points in total. From A- and higher rank, it is hard to find players also it is hard to gain points if game was win and loss together. ex) A- vs A- winner gets 130 pts, but loser will get -140 pts. one win and loss each player it's total -10 points for the player. This rule give more oppotunity for higher rank players. Per day vs. same person(or Team). However some may think that they could play 6 games today 6 tomorrow (D ranks) and so on but nothing more wrong. Those cases will be handled separately and most of the times probably penalized since you can abuse your way into higher ranks with this method. Also cases of games played vs. same friends across bigger periods of time will be evaluated individually. So if you feel like training with friends and gaining some rank with it you should just switch to melee. Also its forbidden to play vs. people that have the same IP as you(LAN houses etc.), here number of consecutive games vs that person won't even mather. The punishment for breaking this rulle is points penalty, clearstats or ban depending on how many games were played.
We will be looking very closely at game lists for everyone, and we will be reviewing all replays of any sort of suspicious game patterns. If you're consistently going 9-3 or 10-2 at B rank against the same player every day -- well that's obviously something we'll be reviewing very closely.
Basically, if you're trying to qualify, play different people as often as you can.

I'd really love to see some good new foreigner terrans emerge here. The BRAT_OK model, we'll say.
I'm also a sucker for geographic divisersity, does anyone know if some of the more far flung participants; Temujin, Legionnaire, and Reason, for example, are going to ladder, and are good enough to qualify?
But overall, the ladder is going to look like this, imo: 1. IdrA 2. Ret
With the usual suspects filling out the top 16. I think Chill gets...uh... 55th.
EDIT: Here's part of an answer to at least one question... http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/gamingprofile/3d.temujin.html - 45 games, all played in the last week, and 39-6 :: B- EDIT #2: Gogo, Legionnaire!

I actually think the cut off will be at A- or the very least at high B+. This late in the season and with so much on the line I expect this to be a hardcore race. Probably lots of people at 9000-9200.

Bold Predictions
I think Eriador will make a good run, a little birdy told me hes in good form lately.
A suprise number 1 on the ladder will be... XiaOzI . Well maybe not number 1, but he Always finished near the top, and whats the fun in Just picking IdrA or Ret.
Players like Mondragon, and Dreiven will come out of their inactivity and will qualify for this tourney. The cut off will be 9100, a few low A- players won't make it.
Chill and Kwark barely make the top 100.
Heres hoping that the less known American players from Team EG (go Inka!) as well IdrA, NonY, and Artosis make good runs.
The best storyline will be casting IdrA as the villian of this tourney and watching him explode when he gets cheesed out. Also, it could set up and epic finals with Ra or Ret. (Personally I am a fan and hope he wins).
Can't think of anything else atm, should be a great tourney.

Kolll, Idra, and ret will not be #1 ladder. They have good practice habits; they only play Koreans when possible. Foreigners slightly below the very top will be trying to maximize their points, so they'll be playing the weakest people they can find at their level... and they'll stop when they hit a high point level.

I think kolll will win the ladder because he simply has more time for laddering than most people with jobs etc. He may not be the best but he has the best skill+commitment of everyone (Idra has to icc in his spare time as far as I know). Midian will make the top 48 pretty easily.
The rest of the top 48 will be the usual crowd of known players with a surprisingly high proportion of Scandinavians. I'm expecting to clock in about 70 if I play.

InkA is going to turn some heads here. Nyoken will be in the middle. Machine will barely make it/won't (as is usual with him and ladder qualifiers) Lzgamer will be in the mid to lower part Louder won't qualify (he hasn't been playing/I haven't spoken to him. For all I know he will be mad motivated and be in there np.. I just am predicting here folks) I will be in the middle.
That does it for EG.
I cannot wait to see what ends up happening though.. with this kind of cash expect AMAZING drama, cheating, abuse and scoundreling. The end of this ladder will be more intense than anything I have seen to date I think.

Agreed with Inc...I can't make any decent predictions as I don't really keep up with the foreigner scene but regardless of who makes it etc the simple fact that there is such a huge amount of money in the tournament means there's gonna be some sick drama at some point.

I'm pretty sure the cutoff will be A- this time. With this much money at stake, a lot of people will just swallow their pride and play the dodging game, racking up the points vs. those awful 400-550 B+ Koreans. In my opinion, it would have been better to hold the ladder at the start of the season to avoid that.
|
I don't think the cutoff will get as high as A-. My guess is the cutoff for #48 is mid B+ range. I'm Really excited to see who all comes back for this though in terms of foreigners who don't seem to play much anymore, at least not that I know of.
There are tons of sure bets though imo like White-rA, Fenix, IdrA, Ret, Mondragon, Dimaga, Brat_OK, Xiaozi, and lots more I can't think of now (assuming they play of course, which I think they all will.)

I am pretty sure it will be a high cut off this time! Like someone else mentioned (9100) is what i think. Since its so much money in play. Some people will play so much just to be 48 to be able to have a shot at the money.
It will be awesome to follow this. WIll play some also just to give my support to the tour. Dont have any goal but, will play some atleast! =)
