This has been a re-occurring issue, and the temp ban was perfectly justified by the admin's rules. For cryin' out loud, it's only two days! Artosis makes some very cogent points, but so do other players that disagree with him. I agree that people shouldn't have whined about that thread to the extent that they did, but that doesn't excuse Artosis from his behavior either. Anyways, this isn't a topic I'm willing to start a fight over, so I'm gonna go do other stuff... have an awesome day. | ||

The problem though wasn't the discussion of the topic or even the quality of the arguments being made (and some were dubious). It was all the discussion of posters themselves. it was a shame, because had people stuck to the topic itself rather than ad-hominems it could have been quite a constructive exchange. Idra is right though, a name perhaps acts as a lightning rod. Especially so when the subject matter is controversial. I'm not in favour of giving some people more slack than others, but I can imagine is must be so very frustrating as a 'name' to be unable to just say what you think without it being taken to pieces, and being called personally into question, without mercy. I think he was quite aggressive from the get-go, and that probably didn't help matters. I wonder, like when your girlfriend gets pissed off), a number of things were getting to him (e.g. the camera thread) and this was just the boiling point. Either way, I hope he comes back soon, and stays so forthright. As even if I don't necessary agree with everything he says, I find what he has to say incredibly fascinating anyway and one of the reasons I joined the site. | ||

If any of you actually looked at the SC2 strategy forum guidelines, you'd see that his post was garbage by those standards as well - no reps, no arguments besides "I said so, because I'm a kinda good zerg on Asia and Idra agrees with me". I'm surprised that thread didn't get closed much earlier, since it was terrible posting from both sides. Nony and FA had the only reasonable posts there. | ||

That being said he's been really hissy for a while and i find he believes his word is untouchable, himself being the all knowing god of starcraft. Especially with starcraft 2, where the gameplay hasn't even begun to evolve like it did in sc1. So i think the ban was deserved. | ||
