Fruscainte was stirring up trouble in the Star Wars: The Old Republic thread for months now for the sake of stirring up trouble. I think he mentioned that he never played the game and never would, but he endlessly looked for problems with the game and only posted to complain and tell people that they were idiots for playing the game they enjoy. Some of his posts were to the effect of "HAHAHAHA, AREN'T YOU SO ANGRY YOU PAY 200 DOLLARS A YEAR FOR THIS GAME AND IT ISN'T EVEN PERFECT?" which is (maybe) okay to post sometimes, but not every few days in the same thread.Manifesto7 intervened and said he wasn't to post in the thread any more.

It really isn't that hard to not get banned. My only warning was when I tried to get the first post on page 1000 on a MLG live report thread and double posted. Just earlier I was about to post something in a blog but then as I was reading what I typed to make sure it made sense I thought to myself that it was a little too politically inclined so I didn't post it. I don't think I'd be warned or banned for it but still if people just read over their posts before they do them there can be so fewer bans.
I agree that it's relatively easy to avoid getting banned. I once got warned because I was in a girl blog arguing that HoN was better than LoL...

I have to say that I find very hard not to cross the red line. Especially in political discussions with US posters. Sometimes I get genuinely angry at what people manage to think and say.
I actually straight-up avoid politics discussions on forums specifically for that reason. I just get really mad, or worse, people get mad at me ;_;

Well, that's wisdom. I think the problem with the general forum is that people who have really strong ideas really want to fight about them. You find much more extreme opinions by much more aggressive posters than anywhere else on the forum.
When I got to a point I was getting banned on a very regular basis and for longer and longer length, I did the same. I have to say that since I'm not interested in SC2 and BW is slowing down a lot, I sometimes don't have anywhere to go but the general forum. I tend to decide when will be my last post in advance to avoid getting dragged in endless inflammable discussions.

i pointed out his hypocrisy in that thread a few weeks ago (he's posted over 27k words in it) pointing out that he should do something else with his time than just hating on something.
