Feels good to have one for sure, though SC2 LR readers probally need it more than I do..
And holy bankstreak batman, nyovne's just been on a 26 banstreak before themango interrupted it. Bans to the ban god indeed

In the year and change I've been posting I've only seen one report worthy post in a bw LR thread. One. I know there were others but my personal experience has been.. the OPs aren't the only thing SC2 LRs should emulate.
That being said the GSL Finals had a pretty good thread. There was some whining. And there were a few WTF? posts. But overall it was a good thread.. for once.
Report buttons are nice but you'll find yourself either checking the post time of a quote and backpedaling through the LR to find the offending post and either seeing it was already reported (9/10 times) or having the satisfaction of helping clean up the thread in a little way. Enjoy~
Nyovne is grumpy because no one told him what a good Sir Arthur Conan Doyle reference his poem was. It was a good reference Nyovne I enjoyed it. It even tickled my brain for a few minutes and I ended up googling it because I couldn't remember where I knew it from.

Put the bridle on the mare, For my mod is chill; And my posts, it is there, On the LR-tufted hill, With the banlings o'er us, And the long-drawn chorus Of a running PBUs before us From the find to the kill.
Man, I suck at this, I wonder where Nyovne gets his Muse from...
Btw, thanks Probe I didn't know that all these html tags work here

Just, curious, is there any reason this guy isn't showing up in the ban list, is there some delay or was he nuked so hard he just evaporated ?

Mods can choose whether or not a banned user shows up in the list. Usually this is done to hide PBUs who try to make accounts over and over.

I was a huge supporter of NASL and still am, so I'm a bit annoyed by this. 11pm start would have been fine.
User was temp banned for this post.
I have no idea why you took such a hard line on moderation in those two pages. I haven't read any of the NASL LRs. I'm obviously missing part of the puzzle. But.. damn man, that looks harsh.

It was harsh, but sadly that is required in tournament topics to get anyones attention. In addition the public note had been up since the first post on the previous page and the topic was moving slowly. As such ignoring the topic note which had been up for a while is reason enough to run into stricter moderation. Tournament topics are not a nice place and nice things are not to be had there if one decides to stray from game commentary.
The ban was a principle ban based on the topic note and general offtopic/tournament topic established practice common sense. Harsh indeed, but a clearly stated consequence of violating a clear note which had been put up a more then reasonable amount of time before the post that violated it.
That it was the first post of the above mentioned page made it all the more imperative for me that the consequences of the note were to be taken seriously. Yesterday we had that terrible racism debate that raged for over 50 pages and today it was going to be 5+ hours of tears and complaints about the tournaments SC2 schedualed playtime.
I deemed it unacceptable and tried to nip it in the bud with some (too?) strong, decisive moderation.

-.- somehow, NASL brings out the whininess and complaints in everbody

After reading your reasoning I still think that individual ban was too heavy and a warning may have delivered a more effective message to the individual posters instead of the herd. If the off topic discussion was that bad then it's understandable. Again, I haven't read any of the LRs for NASL and aside from your description just now, I don't have any context.
I personally would not have chosen that poster. Despite fostering an off topic discussion and crossing a line that needs to be preemptively drawn- I still strongly believe you should reduce it to a warning based on his well mannered approach to the subject and intent not to flame or bash anyone.
He fell inside the parameter you just outlined but I think, if no one else, he should be untemp'd. Imho

Did that racism debate really go on until page 50?
Anyways, I posted my thoughts on airing NASL during at an earlier time. Should I not do that on LR threads? Because it always seems to me that before the games start airing the LR thread ussually degenerate into some sort of offtopic that is casually related to the tournament. Some of the comments we're being way too harsh though so I could see how it could degenerate forever, but on the flipside do I have to make a topic to talk about things related to the tournament?
