Yeah, there are actually quite a few instances where people post something completely acceptable, but feel some strange urge to preface it with "I KNOW I'LL GET BANNED FOR THIS" in which case they get banned.

You can't unless you have mod/admin privileges. We've just seen him get banned.. a lot.

My my, why are people hating on Gretorp and InControl so much? I personally enjoyed Gretorp and Incontrol's casting very much. If any of these banned people can cast better then these two, then I'll eat my own foot.

It's because people need someone to hate when an event is below their impossibly high standards. The obvious targets are the people that the viewer sees most during the event.

I guess if you're just watching for the commentary you'd be more ... enthused.. about it but I'm usually watching the minimap et al; I don't need them to commentate it's just a bonus.

pbjsandwich was just temp banned for 2 days by Empyrean.
That account was created on 2010-08-12 02:14:20 and had 150 posts.
Reason: No need to be rude when disagreeing with others. "go fuck yourself" is never appropriate.
I'm mildly surprised only one ban resulted from the whole ordeal.

TL should really be above this kind of behavior. It really destroys the discussion which could be directed towards more constructive angles. It's like we're bringing out the inner Korean netizens inside all of us or something like that. And everyone has to voice their own opinion that's the same as 200 other opinions. The brouhaha about Lindsey Sporr is just annoying. So much overkill.

Wow that was quite racist. When complaining about moaning it's prob best not to use racist metaphors. Unless there's some non-racist connotation there but I'm not seeing it.

What TL should be and is will never ever be the same thing. Unless you say it's excellent. That and possibly awesome are the only exceptions.
I see how referring to Korean netizens can be construed as racist but the addition of netizen makes it not about a race but a subgroup of a nationality- not asians or even Koreans in general.
But it is stereotyping an entire demographic to make a point about brouhaha doesn't convey you're point very well.

I don't consider people's most people's qualms with NASL to be unreasonable, but InControl and Gretorp are pretty much the last thing NASL needs to worry about. They did a fine and dandy job.
