Yes? I assume you are saying that in this specific case that argument doesn't apply? I don't see why it wouldn't. I mean... The account isn't supposed to be ever used again. Cute OP or not, I don't see a reason to leave the account alive, while there is a fair risk that it'll be used again next time the guy is banned.
Maybe they leave it as bait, so that they immediately can tell when the guy tries to dodge his next ban? :D

Not spoilers, but Hardhome is generally seen as top 2 episodes (Red Wedding being the other big one). "Our house our rules".
