AFAIK admins would probably only allow a very minor name change.

So MrBombasticSuperfantastic is not allowed?

That is a fantastic name change, but no, it wont let me call you guitars

You just need to have a good enough story/reason behind the name change. GHOSTCLAW got his named changed (and he wasn't even the one who requested it).

Official Rules:

1. If you have more than 500 posts, don't bother asking.

The reason for this is because we respect user IDs. You build a reputation here based on your username through your posts and post count. See TL's 10 Commandments.

2. Check if your name exists using http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/profile.php?user=NAME
(replace NAME with the username you want to change to)

Your request will be ignored if the username already exists. The burden is on you to check if the name exists. If you failed to do your research about existing names, then you might have to wait another month (and you might go over 500 posts by then). A good solution would be to put several alternatives, like please change my name to X, otherwise Y, otherwise Z.

3. TL reserves the right to change your name or refuse name changes for certain reasons.

If you changed your name already, you won't be able to do it again, so consider carefully. We don't allow advertising in usernames, and we generally don't like oBnoXiOuS capital letters or offensive names. We don't like ALLCAPS either. A good rule is, if your name would distract from the clarity of the forum, we won't let you have it.

4. We're no longer accepting changes for clan tags only. Put your team in your signature or profile.

5. This thread is checked once every month, near the end of the month.

6. Changing your name will result in loss of all Liquipedia edits contributed under your old name, as well as loss of permissions and coins. If you're a frequent wiki editor, do not change your name.

Please do not bump or PM mods about this. It will be done, don't worry and be patient.

Even if it is a simple change? Like from WrathSCII to Wrath? There is a user with name Wrath but it was made in 2008 and did not do a single thing, maybe boot him and give that nickname?

Only on special occasions and circumstances do the admins consider giving a name change even if the user exceeds the 500 post count rule. But you have to have a good reason or state your case well for them to consider doing so.

Yeah, it's just confusing with posters changing names. Just stick with it, the same way you stick with your RL name.

Cricketer12= Clarity. Cricketer= no clarity?

It can be frustrating to include your age in the name, when one year later, the name is not actual anymore. But that is a special case, ask them to change your name to Cricketer13! :-)

Haha my bad. Man so many of TLers name i tend to misspell for some reason. Litcher, zealousy, optertown all sound easier to spell. I also miss darkhoarse.

You do have a point. Capitalizing SeeKeR correctly is also quite hard.

Ask Templar, he's the master.

I'm sure he inserted SeeKeR as a correction to seeker in his browser spell check.

"A good rule is, if your name would distract from the clarity of the forum, we won't let you have it." Distract from the clarity of the forum...

Cricketer12= Clarity. Cricketer= no clarity?

It can be frustrating to include your age in the name, when one year later, the name is not actual anymore. But that is a special case, ask them to change your name to Cricketer13! :-)

Ha! You're so clever

Remember that everyone asking you why "12" you can answer that is the number of consecutive time you were GM

So if everyone else did it, is it too late to change my name? It's too cumbersome, I wouldn't have chosen it if I had known I'd be doing anything else on this site besides occasionally posting in the Scarlett fan club

AFAIK admins would probably only allow a very minor name change.

So MrBombasticSuperfantastic is not allowed?

As long as you do not have 4 gold coins i will not take a stance for this name change
