Only report them if they are doing it a lot. Accidental/occasional double posts aren't really a huge deal.

yeah i see it happen mostly in slow LR threads, which isn't necessarily on purpose

There is also the increased chance of accidentally hitting the "quote" instead of the "edit" button with the new design, which lead to multiple double-posts by me at least.

I double post fairly often when I am replying to different posts on different subjects. If kind of makes it easier for everyone I feel, compared to quoting two different posts in the same post. The two subjects remain separated so it is easier to read/skim, and any further replies to one of the subjects wont have to get the other topic in the nested replies as well.

Double posts happen but if someone does it a lot, they should be reported imo. It clutters everything up so imagine what it's like if 10 people all decided to start double posting simultaneously in the same thread (excluding LR threads). You see what I mean lol.

Compare replying to two quotes in the same post with a couple of lines between for spacing to replying in two different posts. I don't think it takes much more vertical space, if any.
What does take a lot of vertical space are the new team banner. That creates so much more cluttering than double posts. Also large signatures. Which is why have neither.  Just look at the_templars signature+banner above... It is almost as big as your entire post just below, excluding signature.
To clarify, I am talking about keeping separate discussion (nested quotes) in separate posts, not making a single point over 2 posts.
