Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |

Common sense dictates on TL. Of course he has a chance as you can see from watching GSL plenty of people worse make it through.
Banning someon over an opinion? Sure I disagree with him as well, and I might not have the entire context, but I don't see how this is a reason to ban someone.
Just asking. Because I don't want to go around being afraid to express my opinion on this forum incase one of the mods disagree with me.

^ there is no democracy on tl.net dude

If your opinion is racking down on one of the mods, and one of the most popular guys, on TL.net, you might consider expressing it somewhere else...
Read the thread, lots of ppl said that they felt he had slim chances without getting a ban. But saying he has no chance, it is kinda impolite if nothing else. I dont go into my neighbors house and say he is to ugly to ever get laid even if i might be thinking it, being a guest there i say there is someone out there for everyone and his time will come.
And, i think IncontroL has a pretty decent chance, as long as he can avoid the monsters i would give him good odds on qualifying.

I'm also suprised about some of the people banned for stating the opinion that Incontrol does not have a chance to qualify.
I've seen people state far more laughable opinions than this with respect to common sense. I'd understand slightly more if the guy wrote it asif it was a fact (although people have a tendancy of stating their opinions as facts) but he even went to the trouble to say "I think".

You really need to learn that memes aren't appreciated on TL. .... I swear this made me laugh so hard. Sparse usage of memes can be tasteful and funny, such as this one. Reading through a casual blog a seeing one (not image macro) meme can be funny, and in this case I thought it was. Are you (mods) worried that if you let the occasional meme go by unpunished soon we will see people using memes every other sentence?

memes are a substitute for wit, social connectivity, and change.
however, extending the limitations of a meme often has value. I think that is the reason why "i am disappoint" and "no u" are so frequent on the ban list, while "yo dawg" is not.
Also because there are fewer situations where creative memes are appropriate than where most garbage memes are.

They're not being banned for an opinion, they're being banned because they're posting 1 liners that contribute nothing to the discussion.
If they actually post reasons why they think he's not going to qualify and construct a logical argument they're not going to be banned.

if you want to discuss WHY you dont think incontrol is going to make it, "i dont think he will do very well because his style is turtly and korean zergs are agressive" etc etc then you can do that, but just coming into the thread and saying "nope" is pointless and doesnt further the discussion

i see this to be the case also....alot of times people simply want to be blunt and state their opinions...no reason to always give a reason (lol) and no reason to give out bans like candy simply to try and get that person to add another sentence. counter productive when i think of how that can possibly hurt the perspective of people who arent trying to troll but simply putting a cent or two in.

Imagine you're trying to have a conversation about delicious food with a group of people. Now imagine the conversation keeps progressing, with people adding in dashes here and there to take the conversation in different directions. Now imagine one guy keeps saying "I don't like pizza" over and over for the entirety of the 10 minute conversation.
Do you knock him out?
It's great that you don't like pizza, but you don't need to tell us about it. Keep that to yourself if it adds nothing to the discussion.
