Firefly for obvious reasons. Mobile Suit Gundam F91 to actually be a TV show and not condensed into a single feature film. Azumanga Daioh should be extended and continue indefinitely. | ||

Mixed feelings. I loved seasons 1-2 and the original premise of Angel seeking redemption and helping people in need, and I think seasons 3-5 are certainly worth watching, but the story just got way too wtf at parts (S4 was the worst in this regard). Especially the shit with Connor/Cordy, Jasmine, Powers That Be, Senior Partners, etc. It seemed like the writers kept making the forces involved more and more godlike and enigmatic, to the point where it got annoying because the main characters felt like almost irrelevant puppets, serving no purpose except to be manipulated by ancient powers beyond them. In a separate series, this would be fine, but I don't think it fits well in the same world as Buffy, because it makes her feel irrelevant as well. Throughout 7 seasons of Buffy, the message you get is "This girl is strong, she is the master of her own fate, she saves the world," but after Angel you start thinking "Nvm, she is also irrelevant and useless in the face of the insanely powerful ancient immortal godlike evil forces shown in Angel" and that's kind of depressing and conflicting with Buffy's uplifting ending. Anyway, I still enjoyed having a spinoff series with beloved characters, but I vastly preferred the story and themes of Buffy (strong heroine and friends face challenges that evil throws at them and saves the world) to Angel (mysterious "good" powers vs "bad" powers, hero + crew trapped in the middle of the struggle, and weird shit happens to them). That said, favorite episodes were 1.20 (I Will Remember You) and 5.20 (The Girl In Question), for obvious reasons  | ||
