I was hoping to change my tl name to my starcraft name. I have been a member to teamliquid for years and have never previously asked for a name change. I was hoping to change it to: Ynot If for some reason that was taken, YnotStyle Any help or redirection would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again. Let me direct you the absolutely correct thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=3398 Name changes are done at the end of the month, so your timing is quite decent. Off you go!

Even majored in music my first year of university for Classical Guitar performance, but now I'm a Econ major/Comp sci minor after realizing how pointless a music degree is. I started playing Electric guitar in elementary school, and I was really into a lot of guitar based rock/metal bands, and even instrumental guitarists. I got into Jazz shortly after and started taking lessons from one of my cities best instructors, who was also a Juliard graduate Classical player. I have my ARCT performance from the Royal Conservatory, and played like 8+ hours daily for years(not just classical but all styles). I have my grade 10 in Piano as well(which is the highest grade), but didn't go for the ARCT. I have a video somewhere at home with me playing at my high school variety night show, I should find it sometime and upload it or something. I think I played El Ultimo tremolo by Augustin Barrios. This song if anyone is interested. + Show Spoiler +

Debussy, Brahms, Shostakovich. For guitarists I like Barrios, William Walton, Villa Lobos, Domeniconi. There are countless others who I like just as much, just can't think of them all right now.

Just curious :D I took lessons for 10 years, didn't practice, and was worse than my friends who had been playing for 2.5 years :| nowadays I do improv (read: make things up), with bullshit arpeggiated left hand, poor voice-leading (but hey, it's not the 18th century anymore!), boring rhythms, and gratuitous pedal usage it's really rather relaxing!

It is the highest grade in RCM, and equates a tiny bit higher than the highest grade for ABRSM which is grade 8. And after grade 10 there is a performance certificate as well, but I only have it for Guitar. In Grade 10 some of the songs are played by real concert pianists, so the material is quite hard.
