Can you help broaden my mind? What other common careers are there for these majors? HotBid went to law school. Actually now that I think about it all my friends got who philosophy degrees went into teaching or law school also.

Law school is the catch-all for those of us who did some kind of liberal arts major, who don't want to get a PhD in that field, and have no idea what to do with ourselves.

You can secure complete financial stability for you and your immediate family. Whatever your/their needs are they will be met. The one catch is that if you accept your ability to feel and experience emotions will be drastically reduced. You can smell, but only in the most basic sense, like bitter/sweet, etc. You can still feel love/pain/etc. but they will be far less intense. Only your senses of sight and hearing seem uninhibited. You remain aware of how vivid your other senses used to be. Do you take the offer or leave it and live as you do right now?

And honestly why does anyone actually want to waste keystrokes on those types of additions to their comments? No one's e-peen is growing because of that. Make a LR thread OP if you want your e-peen to feel bigger. That's what I did. That's actually useful.

I can't speak for anyone else, but just posting, "+1" seems pretty senseless. If you can't manage to think further than, "Everything this guy said speaks for me," then you shouldn't post. Someone else already has.

Can you help broaden my mind? What other common careers are there for these majors? That's what you'd think, but the university programs with the highest post-graduate unemployment are sometimes the most definitively professional ones. Architecture is at the top of the list, (13.9% unemployment) and Law has gotten a reputation recently for being oversaturated. What's important isn't whether there are a ton of jobs for your focus of study, but whether there are many other people studying the same thing that you are. That's why you see lower post-graduate unemployment in studies like Art History than you might for something more concrete. In reality, in the US, the rates for unemployment among categories of majors are fairly similar: Arts: 11.1% rate, Social Science: 8.9% rate, Humanities/Liberal Arts: 9.4% rate, Business: 7.4% rate. No one major is a ticket to success or failure.
