That's pretty damn spiffy even if you get properly crushed in the championship bracket. And every invite automatically gets $1000 to help defray travel costs.
IPL is off to a good start!
pretty sure all invites + qualified players get all expenses paid (travel + hotel)

Don't get me wrong, i love what IGN is doing for E-sports and i'm going to watch this event. However i think that the competition model in IPL 1 and 2 was better than this one.
Another thing that bothers me is why didn't IGN invited the both runner-ups from their previous tournaments (Kiwikaki and Nerchio) and decided to randomly invite players like MC and Boxer that never participated in the events. There are other oddities like the invitations of Huk and Boxer (I guess we can understand this one). This does not reward the history and commitment of the players with the event.
Other than that gg gl

Because what IPL, and any other serious tournament for that matter, really cares about is viewership. Thats why they invite people who will give them many viewers, people like MC and Boxer. Nerchio and Kiwikaki, while both are excellent players, don't have the same crowd appeal as the emperor and the former President.

Awesome portal. Going to be a very fun tournament

Other than that gg gl Umm, Koreans were excluded from participation in IPL 1 and 2 so how is it fair to reward commitment to the tournament when they haven't even had the opportunity to show it?

This seems like it will be a very interesting and fantastic end to the IPL3, I will definitely be watching it.

So maybe I'm missing something but wasn't WellPlayed.org the original community forum for the First IPL? Or was it NASL? Seems like TL is the official community forum for NASL and IPL now which is dope... I mean it's awesome that TL got the gig, but does anyone know what happened there? I thought Well Played did all the graphics and everything for the first season of IPL? Or am I confused?

WP was doing the graphics and stuff for IPL S1 but after that season IPL decided to internalize everything and got their own staff for everything. NASL I never really got in the first place what the point of being the "official forum" was and have no idea what the motivations were to stop that arrangement.

I don't think many people would know, and I doubt that they would tell you. Probably not that much.

This is just the first time (that I have seen) with third party event countdowns.

Why you would try to make one site an official forum is beyond me. People will post where they please regardless of text on a page saying it's the forum[/i] or not. Example: Battle.net. Sure if you want a Blizzard employee to respond you'd do well to post there but that would be the exception.

Huk should have a canadian flag not a USA flag

I really really really really really really really really
really really really
really like these tournament portals. I have a crazy work schedule so it's great to be able to be able to just pull up the mlg portal and check out what matches were played, the results, etc quickly. they're also well organized (unlike the mlg site lol)
p.s. link works fine stop harassing the wonderful and hard-working person that is hot bid
