IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! We apologize for the short notice but due to unforeseen circumstances we are forced to change the location of this Sunday's event. On Sunday, July 31st the MLG ANAHEIM FINALS event will take place at the Molly Bloom's Irish Pub, located at 191 College street from 7:30pm - 11:30pm.
Molly Bloom's hosted us once before (in May) for the TSL event and proven to be a great venue.
Once again, we apologize for the short notice and hope that this will not affect your decision to show up and support E-SPORTS in Toronto!!! We are looking forward seeing you all there on Sunday at the Molly Bloom's.
WHEN: Sunday, July 31th. 7:30pm to 11:30pm
WHERE: Molly Bloom's Irish Pub, located at 191 college Street, The main event will be held on the second floor.+ Show Spoiler +
Traditionally our Theatre\Bar events are free of charge to attend. So NO tickets will be sold, just come in and join the party! However we strongly encourage donations to cover the costs of hosting the event and to make e-Sports in Toronto even bigger. Donation box will be somewhere close to the bar.
If you are driving to the event and have extra space in your car/need to be picked up, don't be shy, post in the thread. I’ll also add any carpooling info down below
Thanks to everyone who came to the NASL finals last time and I hope to see you guys here :>
I'd also like to bring up that the GSL finals for October are going to be at blizzcon, THIS IS HUGE for esports in north America and I will for sure be hosting a viewing event in Toronto! I'll keep you guys updated with future tournaments and the GSL event.
Awesome. I just moved here a few weeks ago and I heard Toronto had a pretty active SC2 community. Looking forward to checking it out; hope I can get the day off work to join in on this event.
Aww it is only Sunday? I am coming down to Toronto that weekend from Ottawa to visit a friend, but I am leaving Sunday . Oh well. I am sure it will be fun !!
Awesome event. Too bad I'm not from Canada but this is rly good if you wanna promote E-sport for the mainstream audience. It's like gathering up to watch a sport event such as Ice hockey or Soccer!

It's better than watching hockey or soccer The difference is - when you watch these sports you have 2 "camps" rooting for different teams. Here first come cheering for the GAME and the SPORT itself and then for the players The feel of a community is like nowhere else when you end up in the bar with fellow SC2 fans watching your favorite players battling it out.
Simple truth if you even know what tl.net is and you can get to toronto on the 31st there is literally NO reason to not show up... money? just chill. Shy? Trust me you can fit in here, 100%. Underage? no worries just buy coke (you're not the only under age there) Not sure it will be fun?... WTF? dude your at a bar... surrounded by sc2 fans... either one would be fun but both combined? you can't lose! (unless you idra... muahaha -no no big zerg love)
Thats true ice, plus where else do you find a crowd of like minded people who are all awesome to chill with.
Also, let me you tell you this, are you one to those looking to learn and move up the ranks in sc2? there are some sick skilled people that show up to these events, there is no better place to find a practice partner than one of these events!
Perfect timing. Flying into the city on the 29th to visit some friends and family for the first time in a few years, and I'll try like hell to haul some of them down to the venue to check it out :D

Well said, I really relate to what Ice said in this! You really look at the people around you and are just happy to be enjoying the awesomeness that is the game!

not going to lie part of the fun of soccer events is stealing some douchebags scarf...
but at the same time sc2 is all joy and 0 bm... it's amazing even people like combat-ex are cool dudes in person... we only rage online
I'll go depending on the weather. It will already be really hot with all the people there, and if this heat wave keeps up all week, it'll be unbearable.
I will be at MLG and was able to steal a press pass from a friend. My goal for this weekend, if successful, is get another shoutout for r/barcraft @ the MLG aneheim stream, and possibly even a BarCraft collage onstream like in NASL.
So if possible, try to take pictures of your BarCraft and send it to my PM, and I'll work my magic from here.

Assuming these are all Anaheim local that means the finals won't start till 10 pm at the earliest...
You're right, I'll sort stuff out and update the OP with the correct times.

ahh ever since the first GSL I've wanted to come to one of these. I always end up being busy during the day of the event. I have plans on sunday, but now I'm hoping my friends flop so I can come!

It's so true. At the NASL event everyone was cheering for the underdog. At first it was Puma, then MC when Puma was up 3-1. There was no clear crowd favorite, everyone was just cheering for good games and hoping to see it go to game 7.
I would have much preferred for this to have been the GSL finals. I haven't followed MLG in forever, but from what I have seen from them, they are horrible at keeping to a schedule. This is bad for people trying to set a straight time...
That being said, IF I'm in the area, I may try dragging my girlfriend into it for a few minutes...

No doubt they haven't been right on time but what it is, is literally a full day of sc2
no reason no to show up even if for a few hours to chill, have a beer and meet people, there really is no downside as every match shown is going to be high quality and of intersting players!!!
thats the advanatge of the gsl which is a 7 games and thats it... if that... plus it's during the DAY BOOYA

Amen brother.
Besides, I would go to a GSL part for ro32 all the way to ro4. GSL finals haven't been kind to us, and its a ZvZ ewwww Although I'm hoping Losira and Nestea play the series out in their houses and decide the winner, then just orchestrate a sick finals for the fans.
If anyone is driving down from the Bramptonish area, I will split on gas, even though I know it's not that far, gas is expensive, and a drive would really be awesome, since I wouldn't have to leave as the finals start to catch a Go Bus.
I'm actually glad were doing MLG semis/finals in favour of the GSL finals. Every single GSL final was either one player outclassing the other or just had uninteresting games lacking the epic feeling that I got watching the NASL or TSL finals. The best GSL games always seem to occur in the ro8-ro4 for some reason. For example MMA vs MKP would of made an amazing finals for the super tournament.
Sweet ill be there. my first time any sugestions to what i need? it might be me plus six? also does it get loud like at Mlg? and just a guess no minors??

minors are fine, it's all ages just can't drink
you don't need anything really,
bring some cash for a beer and a burger maybe a laptop, and maybe a sign cheering for your fav players
but really just bring your love for sc2
GUYS - keep you eyes peeled, looks like there might be a big update!

edit for tpos lol
You will need a pillow, a sleeping bag, and matching PJs with your fellow barmates. An extra pillow if Huk is in the finals.
We apologize for the short notice but due to unforeseen circumstances we are forced to change the location of this Sunday's event.
On Sunday, July 31st the MLG ANAHEIM FINALS event will take place
at the Molly Bloom's Irish Pub, located at 191 College street from 7:30pm - 11:30pm.

Well it seems I couldn't get out of my Sunday shift so that combined with travel time means I will mostly likely miss the semi finals unless some ludicrous hour long games happen.

I second this. I have 2 GSPA games that night I can bring my laptop/mouse, but is there any Wi-Fi? or even better is there a PC cafe around?
GENTLEMEN (and terran bitches) I'm so excited for tomorrow!
Just talked to pavel (ruskie) and to my surprise we didn't have a premium mlg pass(for HQ) but a friend of mine who will be joining us offered his up. I'll be sure to point him out when he arrives so you guys can thank him.
Also, as with the last two events I'm down to drive anyone who's in a last minute bind and has a love for sc2 and the community. I live around islington/eglinton in etobicoke. I'll try to get a PM to chromate to update the 'carpool' spoiler but whats the point the night before? Anyway send me a PM with your cell # and where you need a pickup from and how many people and I'll shoot you a text. Also, goes without much saying but if out of the way toss a few $s for gas, shit aint cheap.
Cannot wait for this! Glad I checked the thread and saw the change in venue...as a UofT student I've been to Molly Blooms to many times to count...LOL!

No worries good sir, Chromate took care of the MLG premium pass. Thanks to everyone who offered. Hope everyone noted the location is now Molly Blooms I Can't wait for this to start, see you there!!!!! ^^

Heres what the NASL event looked like at The Victory.
I would expect about the same turnout but I think molly blooms is a bit bigger. Also Chromate said he would get multiple screens for this event so we should be more spread out.
A lot of people need to man up and get their heads in the game... Barcraft aint no time to be quiet and sip tea while watching the game. Get up on your feet and cheer for your players, thats how we always did it in BW
I was there for five minutes with a couple of my buddies, probably the best five minutes of my life but we decided to leave since the girls didn't like the idea of staying in a boiling room. Saddest day of my life.
Man....for a first live event this was pretty fucking SWEET! I couldn't drink (Have to be a responsible driver =( ) but atomsphere was HOT (LITERALLY) and AWESOME. Nerds 4 lyfe =D
Nice to meet all you in person...definatley coming out to more of these...IM ADDING YOU KERN TO TEACH YOU HOW TO BEAT MARAUDERS =D
Just got home from this amazing event. Was totally worth the heat! Certainly wasn't the first place I've been to with a broken air conditioner since the heat wave hit, but it was definitely the best!
Awesome event, met some really cool people and can't wait for the next one! Glad I moved here!
The atmosphere was indeed hot, oh boy. There was definitely a problem with the ac there and I'm really sorry, It wasn't as bad during the finals once it got colder outside but it definitely wasn't what was planed :<
That said I still had an awesome time and is was great to talk to some you guys. Thanks everyone who came and I'll see you again.
hey everyone, that was a really great event. I will try to make it to the next one, but I will be in guelph (hmm, anything in waterloo I wonder?) for the upcoming year. I loved the cheering and the excitement we had!
Hey guys i have another spot for a venue... I work at a community center, and have access EVERYTHING in the building (including a pool!), the only thing we dont have is an internet connection even worth talking about, not sure how it worked in the bar, they seemed to have a little booth place.
Heres the cons I see: the location, its a 5 min walk away off of York university campus apposed to the downtown location witch is a bit more centralized. With out a bar would be BYOB. and with the lack of net might need one of the "net-on-the-go" sticks
Pros: Pool and gym to kill time swimming and soccer or basketball things like that, keep cool, big open room for hosting, and another room for people to mingle in.
this is just some info i wanted to drop for everyone encase someone has an idea, or even thinks its a good idea
the event was great for the time i was there, the GF and i just got too hot and with no ware to sit(witch is sweet cuz it was PACKED!! gogo Esports) and no game happening, we finished our drinks and headed home.
I cannot wait, we will be at the next one for sure!!! Thank you to all the people involved in setting this up and running it, keep it up and the events will be bigger and bigger, seems like more and more first timers! GL HF
Thanks to everyone for showing up! Hope everyone learned a thing or two about the current state of TvT and TvZ from these games at MLG, get your training in and break the ladder boys.
Wow - what a great event - although there were some issues with the A/C everyone was having a great time and the give away was a surprise to me - another successful barcraft!
fantaasssstic time! Thanks all for coming out and to the fine handsome nerds who helped organized (chromate, pavel, mario ken etc etc sorry if I didn't name you it means I didn't meet you and you should fix that you tard)
To the dude talking about a place near york U, thatd be nice but methinks we keep it downtown as its a utilitarian choice for location. Easier for the most amount of people to just get there.
some fun facts;
TvT sucks. The heat was a bitch but worth it for the awesome time. Beer is good. The bartender downstairs had a so-so face but an ass that could crunch walnuts. Kens gf and little brother as well as myself had an interesting time downstairs meeting the two ex convict coke dealers who had guns and just 'knocked over' another drug dealer, fun story. Mario may or may not have gotten raped by a cab driver on the way home, depends if he could pony up the 100ish dollars it would have cost to go to pickering. Ender, myself, mario and andrei (might be missing someone) stayed until 3am or so. Gentlemen of the rectangular table. TvT sucks. I admittedly took off my 'hi my name is chief slapaho' name tag once we moved downstairs to drink.
Great times, great people! Can't wait for the next one. Thx all for comin out <3
Sick event brohans and brofestors. And by sick I mean totally fucking awesome. Tell your friends! I hope to see even more people at the next one. As usual, big props to chromate and the whole crew.
Should have done this when Galleon was telling us to go do shout outs! But I've got a stream @ http://www.livestream.com/wizardstream and there's also a thread on TL about it =D Come watch me I'm going to be featured soon! So watch =D
I met so many awesome people at this... I found a good practice partner, had a heated discussion about my issues with certain match ups and I can say with confidence everyone there that I talked to truly cared about E-sports. Amazing!
This was the hotter side of the bar IMO but than again this night was SoOoO hot!
...And who could forget the guy that kept cheering for boxer, even after he was eliminated! LMAO
These people were smart and sat close to the bar, just so happens the a/c was stronger on this side too... :<
I wanted to post some picks from both sides of the room so everyone could see how many people were there. This was an epic e-sports gathering with so many awesome nerds and nerdette's in attendance (even thought it was TVT final).
Can't wait for the next one and I hope to see everyone there!!!
Any plans on an MLG Raleigh event for the end of the month? I'm gonna be off work finally and I would love the chance to get slammered and watch some SC2 with all you nerd ballers
