Many of you don't know me, since I am a long-time lurker (just actually made an account pretty recently), but me and a good friend still consider ourselves pretty involved with the SC community, we watch ALL of the tournaments and try to participate in as many events and things as we can. Tragically, even though we had planned to take the road trip down to Dallas to watch MLG (And HuK's last American tournament for a while q.q) we are not going to be able to make it due to some logistical crap.
So we made a bacon explosion and encapsulated all our hopes and dreams for HuK who is of course our favorite player.
About 1.5 Pounds of bacon weave.
Just under 2 pounds of a mixture of hot Italian sausage and regular Italian sausage
Add some hopes and dreams.
Some more bacon and BBQ sauce / BBQ Rub
Roll it up!
Its cooking now. I'll let you guys know how it is!
E: Enjoying now. And maybe the best thing I have ever eaten!
Me and all my friends at our MLG Party tonight are rooting for you HuK!!!!

sorry to crush your hopes, but literally every single American eats like this. I personally had exactly what he made for breakfast this morning. For dinner I'm I'll grab a double down from kfc.
Not a big fan of BBQ sauce, also wouldn't put in sausage, since I think that would kinda kill it. However, bacon roll with cheese, bacon, eggs, onion, pickle, maybe houtsauce, and than some sour cream on the side sounds good.
We are cooking it in the oven because we don't have a grill at my friends house (who has the Big Screen for MLG Watching) and it takes about an hour @375. Actually, we are about to pull it out of the oven so I'll make sure to show you guys what it looks like inside and out.
E: Yes we are fat Americans but we are cooking this for the whole party who is coming to watch tonight.
Also, if anyone lives in Omaha NE we live in Old Market and feel free to come by and enjoy some beer, whiskey, and awesome gaming.

You're joking but the fact that the double down exists is funny and sad at the same time.
Also, it pretty much eats like a steak, this honestly isn't so hearty that it hurts or anything, its very savory and very tasty and the bacon isn't overpowering-ly salty or anything. This is just extremely good.
What is that thing? Never before have I seen anything that compares to it, neither have I ever conceived it in my dreams. I'm sorry I gotta ask this: ... ... ... Is it edible? What do you eat it with? Do you put in on a sandwich? A margharitta pizza? Put it beside some cooked potatoes? Do you die from a heart attack immediately after? Does a doctor have to be present in the room to give consent eat it? I'm intrigued.
I have been cooking a lot lately and just wanted to try something a little different than chicken (we eat lots of chicken here). And Day9 actually mentioned the Bacon Explosion during the EG Masters Cup and said to Google it.
The entire thing only cost about.... $20 to make (Only so expensive becuase we used locally raised bacon/sausage and home-made rub and some really nice BBQ sauce) Honestly should only cost about 12 bucks or so. Although next time I will need some wider-cut bacon.
We are drinking Makers Mark with it and honestly it pairs extremely well and tastes delicious, tried to think of the best American whisky, and that is certainly it. Although maybe some Crown would have been better since we are rooting for HuK after all!

Dude this isn't cooking it's some awful godless creation. Fuck dude.
Can I get the recipe? Like, what cooking processes did you use for it? Conventional oven, grilled, etc? I was thinking of making a smaller version 'cause I can't gobble something that size.

Everyone knows that Canadians only eat Seal and Polar Bear blubber, wth are you thinking using this as a paltry offering to huk? Eating skinny pigmeat would leave us freezing in the harsh Mid-July winter
haha I love all the posts by my fellow Americans in this thread. The fact is us Americans burn so many calories cause we are so busy policing the world, that we need food like this. You're welcome world.

jack in the box 50 cent tacos are death cuz i'll buy like 10 20 of them and they look like shit but taste so good.
Haha I think ti looks disgusting... for some reason fatty foods like really bad to me (appetizing wise, it doesn't actually LOOK disgusting in itself). Like the double down from KFC... everyone thought it sounded amazing... I thought it sounded uttelry awful. But I'm also the guy who wipes off 3/4 of the butter on my toast in restaurants if I forget to tell them not to put it on...
You skinny noobs are like "Omg that is so unhealthy" It's meat, ie protein which is good for building muscle. Eating that, wouldn't make me gain weight more then 2-3pounds of water weight which I'd lose the next week. It's a balance, of eating healthy, and treating yourself to something delicious looking like that.

If you were actually a person who exercised and ate healthy, you would know that is not good for anyone to eat.
That is not eating healthy bro. Yes protein will help you build muscle, but an excess can be harmful to your body. And please calculate all the fat, sodium, and cholesterol going into you body after eating that wonderful meal.
I'll try and add how many calories are actually going into your body with the information I have.
Edit: I won't mention the estimated calories and fat because the OP and his friends might really die from this lol.
The only thing I will mention is that your meal is about 25+ servings worth of bacon and Italian sausage.

Yeah but if you do it rarely, will it really affect your health? No. And who said one person would be eating the entire tray.

I am not about to argue that this is a healthy and balanced meal, but I think you have a few incorrect statements yourself. First, excess protein consumption has only been found to cause renal problems (I assume this is what you are referring to) in people who already have them. That is to say, if you have some sort of kidney disease, eating lots of protein is foolhardy, but the average person would suffer no ill effects.
Additionally, while certain fatty acids are obviously not good to have in your body in excess quantities, others are necessary to live. The current low-fat craze seems to stem from a belief that eating fat makes you fat, but in the vast majority of cases, overweight individuals are not overweight due to bad macronutrient balance; instead, they are just eating too much food in general. As an aside, fat is the most energy-dense of the common macronutrients at 9cal/g, so minimizing fat consumption does minimize calorie intake, thus perpetuating the myth that fat makes you fat. That said, this meal is probably is rather light on the 'healthful' fatty acids and more towards the excessive quantities of fatty acids that you would likely want to reduce consumption of, but its not a major problem unless this is a regular meal (which i doubt it is).
Lastly, dietary cholesterol has a relatively small impact on serum cholesterol compared to saturated fatty acid intake, and is probably not worth worrying about except in extreme circumstances or if you have high cholesterol. Tangentially, the foods this tribute to HuK are made from are very high in saturated fat and thus would be a very poor choice if you are concerned about your serum cholesterol levels regardless of their dietary cholesterol content.

I'm not sure where you are getting this information sir. Your body cannot store excess protein. The renal problem you are referring to is do to your liver converting excess protein to urea and leading your kidneys not being able to handle the excess which can lead to an kidney infection. This can happen to anyone. Also, I should have mentioned this before but proteins are broken down into amino acids which can then be broken down into fats, sugars, etc which is later stored as body fat if your body does not need the excess.
You are correct about your body needing certain fatty acids...but your body certainly does not need fat from meat and processed fats such as trans and saturated fats. Your body only needs very little fat to survive. Yes overweight individuals are fat because they eat a lot of food. Anyone can be overweight from overeating anything. But most overweight individuals eat necessary amounts of high calorie and high fat foods which attribute exponentially to your weight. Plus, these types of foods are regular for most overweight individuals. Take into account the sales of fast food restaurants and processed foods in USA. Over 50% of Americans are overweight. About 30% of those are obese in the US.
Your comment about dietary cholesterol. Your body does not need any dietary cholesterol at all. Your body creates cholesterol on its own from every cell in your body. Intaking excess amounts of cholesterol can lead to high HDL levels in your bloodstream which can cause blood clots which later lead to heart problems and strokes. Just a couple shrimps and a steak has more cholesterol than your body needs in weeks.
What I was trying to point out is that pounds of processed meats for yourself and a few friends is not very healthy and to respond to Alim's idiotic post about diet.
Lol tl:dr, all I know is, if you maintain a healthy lifestyle and splurge on something like this once in a while, it will have very little effect on your health.

Bullshit! Europeans stereotype eachother and americans alot more than you could possibly do to us ^^ Oh and by the way.. You're probably fat, extremely religious and stupid
On to topic.. I've never seen such a pile of meat! is that for like.. a 5 man dinner or something? Still sounds disgusting though. I assume you eat it along with something else... right?

Is that how all the 2000 pound americans think? Making muscles requires that you excercise ^^ Eating that would clog up your veins and you'd probably have 5 less years to live. There's no fat in water
Reading people's perceptions of healthy food in this thread is making my brain hurt.
Saturated fat is essentially good for you; the lipid hypothesis was a terrible idea from its conception. A diet high in saturated fat and protein is not going to lead to heart disease. Go look at countries like Norway and Holland where people have historically eaten a lot of saturated fat but (at least until recently) have had very low occurrences of heart disease.
The largest contributor to obesity is sugar. More specifically, high fructose corn syrup is responsible for the obesity epidemic. There are plenty of reasons for this, including sugar's effect on insulin levels, the fact that products high in sugar do not satisfy hunger (the opposite actually), and the addictive effects of sugar. All in all, eating less sugar and more meat would be beneficial for a vast majority of people, especially considering the fact that saturated fat regulates insulin levels preventing obesity.
...But you're not listening to this, so in retrospect it was pointless for me to talk about it I guess. Yeah, go eat more grains and consider yourself healthy. No sweat off my back.

First of all, it depends on how it's cooked. Second, it depends on how much you work out.. downing gallons of fat while not moving an inch is not healthy. I personally live in a country where it was very common with fatty food, say 80 years ago or so, but people had to move alot more back then. Basically most people were farmers, and those who wern't farmers were fat. Also pig meat is bad for you wether you move or not.
That looks freaking amazing. It's like a bacon calzone. With bacon. Personally I would have wrapped buffalo chicken in there and then dipped it in ranch dressing but to each his own.
i think that would be amazing with some sort of bread and cheeze. perhaps if it was wraped with a butter softrole and inbetween meat and dough, you put a bunch of cheese in there. White cheese, most likely motz, because not many cheeses go well with bbq sauce.

As a Kentucky native I approve this decision. However, ultimate win would have been Woodford Reserve. Mmmmmm.... I guess for HuK I would've gone with some Canadian Club 12 year....
holy shit my heart slowed down a little just looking at it. if i ever found out i have a short time left to live, i'm gonna eat like five of those huksandwiches with some bbq sauce before i go.
I think that deserves and A+ for the effort and support for HuK, but I think a healthier alternative might give HuK an advantage over a cardiac arrest causing meal.

I'm not picky about what I eat, to an extent. However, although your bacon-micro must have been gosu to lay that out properly, I would definitely not consume it.
Wow that definitely looks amazing. I woulda wrapped it in bacon though.
And what's with the double down hate? It's like a double chicken sandwich without bun.. gotta be better than a 3 piece meal or 2 regular sandwiches at KFC..
That is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time, this would absolutely kill my stomach lol. Seriously, I hope Artosis do NOT find this thread, it would make him go on a crusade.

How old did they get back in the days?
Just about the same as now I think.. depends on what you work with though I'd imagine. I think ppl in the cities lived alot shorter if i remember correctly due to health issues and such. My granpa (born 1890ish) died at the age of 90 though, so not that bad. Obesety has never been a health issue here. We're decently healthy overall in that regard I guess..

American cuisine is all about making the greasiest most disgusting thing you can think of appear delicious. Eating at a diner, the egg is fried, the bacon is fried, the beans and mushrooms are fried, even the orange juice and the goddamn menu is fried.
I like how almost all of the poster that aren't from the United States post 'Wow this is why you Americans are fat' stuff. They look at this and post thinking every American eats this for lunch every day. This is one of those things that people make maybe once every decade because they were drinking Capt Morgan (Pictured) and some guy in the group said "Um holy shit guys, what if we get like, bacon.... and.."
And who said you had to eat alot? I would maybe take enough to make a small sandwhich and that's it. The damn thing looks delicious.

That doesn't make you fat. Look at the majority of the Koreans. The FACT of the matter is that most Americans do it in excess, and not only do they eat in excess, they eat horrible types of food that aren't necessary for survival, in fact they are food that will shorten your life span.
Never read so much generalization in one thread. Thank God everbody's taste is different and this little piece of a heart attack looks damn delicious and I bet it is! And as UisTehSux said please generalize more and you dont have to eat the whole thing in one bite. :/
Looks great, kind of my life average breakfast. Nothing like pounds of bacon to give me energy for the day. I like to wash down these kinds of things with mountain dew mixed with the bacon fat.
